Where to start. Yes this is a hotel in serious need of a refurb but this could be overcome by basic, consistent standards. Cleanliness wasn't the best in our room- dirty bed sheets, toilet was disgusting, bath dirty, tissue in the bin. No one checks these rooms before they are given to new guests which is surprising since there a 4 members of management at this hotel. I can confirm these were not checked as the room was filthy and further to my previous experience in housekeeping management I ca... Read more

When booking holidays I tend to take reviews from any media website with a pinch of salt!! Our views and expectations are all different!! however, not the case with this hotel (if you could call it a hotel) Now! I know that it is advertised as a no frills, basic hotel... this is very much an understatement. there are no basics, I have stayed in nicer Hostels On arrival the hotel from the outside didn't look too bad, it all went downhill from there. First impressions of the hotel inside: dark &... Read more

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here for our 2017 ski trip. The location of the hotel is absolutely perfect for the main ski bubbles and the train up to the top of the mountain. Both of which are a 1 minute walk! The staff at the hotel were brilliant. All very pleasant and willing to help you. The food was superb! If I'm being critical the bar at the hotel was slightly small for the number of guests packed into it and the decor/bedding could do with an upgrade and it was worn. There where some... Read more

I am not normally one to write a bad review but I feel I need to help worn people about this so called hotel!! The holiday started off really well until we got to the here! Well what can I say for the price we paid we wasn't expecting a lot! We wasn't bothered about it being basic but even basic hotels need to have a standered! First impressions wasn't good as both ours and are friends bedding had massive stains on the sheets, the bathroom was grubby with bulbs out and paint flaking of the cei... Read more

Myself and my daughter booked a late deal at the Champs Hotel. On arrival it was evening meal time and staff were unprepared for new guests arriving. They did check us in swiftly and after requesting offered us a hot beverage. The rooms are basic typical Chalet style, not a lot of room but clean and tidy and you only sleep there. There were a couple of issues with the heating and water on a regular basis. Not enough hot water for all guests to shower at the end of a days skiing, we planned ... Read more

This place is without a shadow of a doubt the worst hotel/apartment block I have EVER stayed in! Never should have thought we got a great deal when booking a got a good price in Val D'Isere! The beds are dirty, covered in stains and hair! The bathrooms have mould in, the heating is either boiling hot or freezing cold. The rooms are so small you can't even walk past your room mate. The beds are the size of cot beds, no I'm not joking, I'm only 6ft tall and my feet are 5 inches out the end of th... Read more

Wow i have been blown away by this hotel. Place is old & needs a little TLC but what it offers is fantastic. Firstly the staff are fantastic can't speak highly enough of them. The food is great you will not go hungry i have put on a few kilos it's so good. The location is great 100m walk to the ski lift. The manager Sarah is fabulous very helpful & Ollie our ski guide is also very imformative. This place is great value definitely worth staying here.

We stayed here the week before Christmas for a family skiing trip. The hotel is basic but clean and the staff are helpful and attentive. I would recommend this hotel based on location and value for money. Wifi is shocking but this is typical across the resort. Special mention to Giles! He made the dining room fun, exciting and provided excellent service. Keep up the good work mate! Merry Christmas to all at Champs Avalins.

I've just spent a lovely week staying in this hotel with friends. The location was excellent with the winter Olympics viewable from the balcony. And there are so many wonderful ski slopes at the top of the funicular rail next to the hotel. We had an exciting ski down to the front door after visiting "la Follow Douce" for apres-ski. The rooms were warm and cosy and the water powerful and hot! Beware of baking cakes at this altitude though! Is there a way of my friends receiving post here, since... Read more

I've now stayed here 4 times with various groups. What you don't get with the tired decor and small dining area you fully make up with great food great staff great location and great price. Ski total have really got a niche slice of the market with this hotel and long may it continue.
