Located at the top of the 'Pleney' this hotel is a MUST for any skier. Straight onto the slopes and away to go. Friendly staff, plenty of great food and the added bonus of a ski hire shop in the hotel!! If you're lucky enough to have fresh snow during your stay its totally amazing especially if you like to be first on the slopes!!.....

I stayed in this hotel in March 2015 with my boyfriend, it was my first ski holiday. The hotel was a bit tired and is in need of some upgrading. The room was ok but was small and not as clean as I would like. The toilet was disgusting, very black. Wish I had a bottle of bleach to pour down it. Our room faced the slopes and the views were amazing and the fact it was ski in and out was fantastic. However, the only drawback it that the lift stops at a certain time at night therefore, once on t... Read more

We stayed here as a family in March of this year. I would urge people NOT to book this hotel. The food is dreadful....i personally didn't have a hot meal all week, and trust me I like my grub. We did raise our concerns with Crystal Ski, but nothing, they don't really give a toss !!! We will not be booking with them again. The kids filled up on baskets of bread and cheese at night. Seemed the safest option. Cheap nasty free wine on offer. We wondered whether the health issues at this hotel were a... Read more

I've been lucky to have skied Morzine (and the PdS) on numerous occasions and have always wanted to stay in Le Viking for a few reasons.... 1. Location, location, location - a skiers dream - and if a flake or two does decide to make it's presence felt overnight - there really can be no-where better to stay in the whole of the Alps ! (unfortunately it didn't snow this time - but it leaves an excuse to come again - if one where required that is !) 2. The swimming pool - if you've skied Morzine yo... Read more

Hotel is on the mountain with majestic views. From doorstep you ski away. Nightly rates are pretty competitive and staff is very friendly. Having said that, there are a few drawbacks; although the photographs give the impression that it is a luxury resort, the facilities and rooms look tired. A 4 person room is actually a 2 person room with a sleeping bench. There is no room-service and the restaurant needs to be reserved in advance. We arrived late and were not able to eat anything (and since ... Read more

Arrived here on the 28th Jan, great location (only possitive) food in the evening was awful. Put this down to changeover day. Next morning food worse (stopped in a catered chalet last year £350 cheaper food was much better). Food that evening just as bad cold, very little choice. Later that evening all the staff came in to eat as the can when the guests have finished, suddenly steak came out and was being freshly cooked. Apparently this was on the menu but you had to ask for it as their is no p... Read more

Just arrived back from our third visit to le viking in Morzine.Vomiting bug in hotel and hotel not doing enough to contain it.4 out of 7 of us got the bug and from what we could make out most families in the hotel had people sick. That means alot of retching in neighbouring rooms, flushing toilets and a lot of skiing and holiday missed. There were two hand sanitisers available for the whole hotel. At one stage the bottle going into the breakfast buffet was missing and we got the bottle from recep... Read more

Hotel is situated next to the top of le Pleney cable car, directly on the piste and so a genuine ski in ski out location. Our room had amazing views over the town of Morzine The hotel is excellent value for money and all the staff there are so welcoming and friendly, and cannot do enough for you. I telephoned hotel with an enquiry a week before arrival and Camille ,one of the receptionists was extremely helpful and friendly and answered my questions and by chance, was the one who checked us in on ... This was my second visit to this hotel due to its great location for skiing. That is where it ends. This time under the new management I found the restaurant food to be shockingly bad. The restaurant is now all self service where in my view the quality of the food was very poor, there was a lack of complementary food options or menu planning and doubtful handling and storage. Worst of all, and the reason for this review, is that there was a potential food poisoning event on Monday 23rd January... Read more

We have used this Hotel for the past three years for our Skiing holiday and up until this trip (21st-28th January) we have never had any complaints. I'm not sure if it is the new Belambra brand or maybe I just can't put my finger on it. There have been some slight changes; some better and some that I feel are for the worse. We have just returned home from a weeks skiing Holiday and out of a party of 17- SIXTEEN of us have come down with the Norovirus. (And that is just our party- truthfully ... Read more
