Location was excellent and the lady who worked there was very welcoming and helpful. But the room was small (even by French standards) and dark. The window opened to an inside courtyard and hallway so we pretty much had to keep the curtain closed. The courtyard and hallway had a dank smell. The toilet was in a cabinet but literally at the head of the bed. I think we paid 94 euros and could have done better.

We booked two rooms for three nights. The receptionist on arrival was very friendly and helpful. The rooms allocated to us looked out to the quadrangle with light coming from the open roof. This made the rooms quite dark. The rooms were warm and only one of our rooms had a celing fan so we requested to change rooms to one on the front of the building with a window. The receptionist did not have a room available on our first night but we were able to move the next morning. The room on the f... Read more

This is a good little hotel located just on the edge of the old town. It's perfect if you don't spend much time in your hotel. We found the hotel to be reasonably noisy as people came and went and as the lights are all on sensors they kept turning on and as the blinds are a bit flimsy, I was woken up a few times during the 2 nights. Also, our room needed some form of cooling. It was late May and around 32 degrees with no fan or air con. That made it hard to sleep. As for the room itself, absolut... Read more

I stayed here twice on a business trip to Lyon in November 2016. I arranged to have a few days free time before and after my work was complete. I had room 334 and 115. Both rooms were clean with a single bed, tv, radiated heat, ceiling fan, clean bathroom. While was there, they did not have a 24 hours front desk. They have an agreement with The College Hotel (5 Place Saint-Paul) which is a 2 min walk from Hotel Saint Paul. The people that helped me both times at The College Hotel were frien... Read more

We stayed here for one night and were quite disappointed with the hotel's value for money. The price increases nearly double for having 2 guests (â?¬89 compared to â?¬150). The rooms were average at best and not worth the price. Much better places to stay in the city.

We stayed at Hotel Saint Paul so we'd be close to the middle of Old Lyon. This place is a great place if you want to be in the middle of the very oldest section of Lyon. The proximity to cafes, bars, bouchons, and shopping is out standing. The building is very old..but you are in Old Lyon so none of the building are new. So with that don't expect five star accommodations. However, some of the highlights of the place: rooms are clean, breakfast is included and it's very good. staff is very f... Read more

A great location and potentially a good place to stay. The room was small - not enough room for bags and two people. And not well ventilated, or air conditioned, and poor curtains. The bathroom was renovated and fine. The spiral stairs interesting. Breakfast good, and counter staff pleasant.

Booked this hotel when the Euro football tournament were in town so lots of competition and I was a little worried. More concerned when I got an email saying the reception was not open after 3 pm and you had to go to another hotel to book in. The reviews are generally fair. The rooms are small, and perhaps more appropriate to 1 person than 2,but clean and the bathroom is good. There is a central stairwell which is open to the sky and there is a strong echo which can mean everything sounds loud... Read more

I stayed here with a friend of mine, it was the great solution: very near to the center and good breakfast. The room wasn't very big, but clean and with a view on the river, no rumors from the street. The owner was very helpful, and he indicated all the places worth seeing. The breakfast was with the croissants and good coffee.
