What an amazing resort. All rooms have amazing volcano views! We watched the clouds around the volcano summit most of the day. The resort food was good but not the most variety especially if you are there for several days. It would also be nice if the bar stayed open past 10:00. However, despite this, you are in a rainforest with amazing wildlife including sloths and toucans. It also has a whitewater river that you can tube on and of course amazing mineral hot springs and hot springs waterfalls.... Read more

Very nice place, including grounds, room and hot springs. The staff was very personable and go above and beyond to accommodate. The hot springs are perfect, including the ones at club rio. The restaurants have a good selection.

My husband and I stayed at The Springs for 4 days. I would give this place 3.5 if I could. Getting There and The Drive We flew into San Jose. The shuttle was quite expensive so my husband and I opted to rent a car. We were used to driving the winding roads of Europe and so had no issues with it but if you don't feel comfortable with this type of road condition, then you may not want to do the drive. The 3.5 km (about 1.8 miles) stretch of unpaved road from the main road into the resort was ann... Read more

My trip to the Springs Resort and Spa with my mom was one of our favorite places in Costa Rica. We've traveled from San Jose, Puntarenas, Santa Teresa, Montezuma and now to La Fortuna! The staff here are very nice and very helpful. Unfortunately, the 2 1/2 days we were here, we didn't see the Arenal Volcano because of the clouds. But that's at no fault of the establishment. We recognized and appreciated every single detail that the staff took time to do here, all the way down to housekeeping. Ou... Read more

This place is BEYOND amazing. My husband and I decided to get the two day passes for the hot springs for $60 for our anniversary. What a great deal! It was worth every penny. There are several hot and heavenly natural mineral springs pools to enjoy, a swim up bar for drinks, and a lovely restaurant with a view of the volcano and assortment of wildlife. We loved this place so much, we switched hotels. For couples, you couldn't ask for a more romantic setting. The friendly staff filled our room ... Read more

The Springs Resort and Spa in Arenal is 1st Class all the way! The staff are all very friendly. We had an alta vista guest room on the 2nd floor with a fantastic view of the volcano. Our friends had a vista room on the 1st floor and the view was just as good. There are multiple pools with varying temperatures and Club Rio which is included and is a short shuttle ride away has even more pools. Definately experience the tube ride in the river. Last visit to Costa Rica's rain forest we stayed ... Read more

Terrific place with spectacular scenery. The facilities are great with one caveat. My I.T. Band started acting up and this facility is not for anyone with mobility issues. There are many steps to get from the outer rooms to main facility. Even then, you have to climb another flight from the pool bar to get to an elevator. My knees were killing me doing this several times a day. Also the food is good quality but somewhat limited in my opinion. Nonetheless, it is an extraordinary place of u... Read more

We traveled with our two kids ages 18 and 21. We stayed in a family suite which was very large and beautiful with a huge patio. This is an amazing resort. The hot springs are great and very relaxing, we enjoyed the animal sanctuary, nice work out room, great food, the kids enjoyed horseback riding and we went ziplining and hiking nearby. The staff are wonderful. My daughter love the spa. We left our coats there and they even shipped them back to us for free. The only negative is ... Read more

Don't get me wrong this is a fab hotel and if you arrived without expectation I have no doubt anyone would love. The extensive hot pool labyrinth, the swim up bar and the spacious rooms all are excellent! Had a few gripes; the place felt very empty and under populated. The grounds are vast and while privacy is appreciated it lacked atmosphere as a result. The club rio tubing was v enjoyable but slightly bizarre to have purpose built hotel activity complex, I just can't imagine it ever being bu... Read more
