This hotel is in a great location, benefiting from the natural hot springs in Arenal and also a fifteen minute walk to Tabacon. It's a peaceful place, with quaint bungalows that offer a lot of privacy. Unfortunately it is also the most impersonal experience we've had in Costa Rica (aside from an airport hotel) and I was surprised by how much that bothered me. All the basics are covered here. Our bungalow and the hot springs were very clean, everything was comfortable, and the service was pretty... Read more

What a unique and amazing place. So peaceful and beautiful. The grounds are so lovely and great for hiking. The food was wonderful, they grow much of it on the grounds of this sustainable eco-resort. the afternoon hot chocolate and cookies was a nice touch. We traveled with our 18 and 21 year old children. My daughter loved the spa and my son enjoyed the horse back riding. We enjoyed a white water rafting excursion and also went to a nearby waterfall to hike. The staff are outstan... Read more

This place is a true gem!! Very friendly staff, beautiful room, great food and best of all....the natural hot spring pools! Fresh fruit placed on the shrub outside the breakfast area brought lots of colorful birds. So fun to watch while sipping a cafe con leche!

My stay at this hotel was amazing. The bungalows are comfortable and clean, breakfast was vegetarian, the hot springs pools were amazing, but the spa was the best part of my trip! My treatments were outside under a canopy where I felt so in touch with nature. I loved their outside showers made of volcanic rock with natural hot springs water flowing through it. I got a chance to experience this amazing spa and will for sure be going back. The staff were really helpful and the cow and chicken... Read more

Location was perfect, just outside town. Breakfasts were phenomenal, wonderful staff who put fruit on the trees opposite the restaurant so that we could all enjoy watching the beautiful birds. It's a small farm with hens, a donkey and Guinea Fowl, who were very happy to meet visitors. Fresh eggs every morning ! Yumm ??? Special bonus was the hot spring pools to relax in in the evenings after our hiking and biking. Millennia makes a mean monito to sip in the tub ! Guests arrived in their robes ... Read more

This was our first stop in Costa Rica and we were greeted by the friendliest staff ever! Unfortunately my daughter had been sick the whole day of traveling, and Jen asked if we wanted a doctor to come to our room. It was great to know that that service was available. The staff at the restaurant was accommodating and made her a dish of chicken & rice when she felt better. You have your own cabin with a little porch to sit outside and enjoy the weather, with a view of the volcano. My sister kept c... Read more

Instead of a room you have a casita. Ours featured a king bed and a whirlpool. It's very spacious, there are two sinks and a large shower that we wanted to take home with us. It was extremely clean. The thermal pools were wonderful and relaxing. The bar is located beside the first and largest pool, great drinks and good food (though it does take a while). By the way, the most beautiful thing is not the casita itself but the grounds. They were absolutely beautiful! It is also a birdwatching para... Read more

El Silencio was a beautiful place to spend our first few days in Costa Tica. We were welcomed with a delicious fruit drink and Jen working the front desk was courteous and helpful. The individual cottages/villas are very clean and had everything we needed. We were in villa 12 which is about halfway between the hot springs and the restaurant/reception area. There are robes and towels for use at the hot springs which were a welcome break after a long day of hiking. We ate breakfast and dinner at t... Read more
