I stayed in this hotel because I needed to be just east on Bloor. It ended up being just a short walk to where I needed to be, and there's was a Tim Horton's on the way, which meant I was able to grab a quick, inexpensive breakfast in the mornings. This is a basic, well-run facility. I stayed in a queen room, and was very comfortable. I'll definitely stay here again.

Wow, I am totally surprised at this hotel is actually open without worn out the carpets and the rooms are and the smell is not too nice. The front desk did admit that the hotel was in need of a redo and did the best they could to give us a room that didn't smell too bad. The room appeared to be reasonably clean but threadbare carpets and the sheets felt like they were purchased at a Kmart Blue Light special 20 years ago. They were clean just way worn out

Yes, this is an older hotel with "classic" furnishings. The room I stayed in was a "King". The lighting was very dim in both the main room and the washroom - they use very low wattage "soft white" bulbs that produce a dull, yellowish light. There were also issues with the in-room wifi: in one corner of the room I was able to get a weak signal that kept cutting in and out. It was impossible to do any work, and I ended up giving up on it. For these reasons, I almost held back giving this hotel its... Read more

We were just staying overnight. Our room was modern, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was small but also clean and tidy. The Fox and Fiddle restaurant downstairs was a good spot to sit and visit with our friends over a few drinks. Parking was convenient but was an additional charge on top of the room fee. The entrance to the parking lot was off St. George St, not Bloor. The hotel is well located for the ROM, it was only a 5 minute walk. WiFi was free.

stayed overnight, quiet room due to time of year. Comfortable, and staff were very pleasant. Close to where we needed to be the next morning at 7 am. Also close to the Museum, and subway stop. A lack offrestaurants that we could find on the brief walk

We stayed on the 14th floor. From the reviews, we thought it may be run down. It was not. It seemed new without a new smell. The bathroom, carpet, bedding, drapes etc were all good. The chair and ottoman were comfy. The desk was large size, with good plugs, and a good chair. The pillows were marked with embroidered pillow cases as to whether they were soft or hard and the pillow cases were accurate. The bed was comfortable. The service from the cleaners, to front desk, to operators were... Read more

The University of Toronto is directly across the street, so the location was ideal for me. A 24 hour Metro grocery store was a 5 minute walk west on Bloor Street and a Tim Hortons just a 2 minute walk east on Bloor were quite handy, There is also a convenience store across the street from the hotel. St. George subway station is also only a 2 minute walk away. Getting to and from Via and GO trains at Union Station on the subway takes less than 10 minutes. The hotel has no room service and no... Hotel is in prime location and the subway is right at the corner. Easy walk to great shopping and restaurants. Hotel provided great customer service and is very clean. Beds and pillows were very comfortable and it was very quiet so had a great nights sleep. Love having free high speed internet especially when travelling with children with many devices.

We have noticed a decline in this hotel over the last couple of years. As other people have said the carpeting is filthy and despite comments from the manager about how she values input nothing has been done about it over a considerable time period. There is a need for major money to be put into this hotel. The tub in our room was badly cracked, the bed and furnishings very old as is the decor. We like the Fox and Fiddle Pub but have never gotten a package that included breakfast. The location ... Read more

Good location close to many restaurants, walking distance to Casa Loma. We stayed in a renovated room so not nearly as dreary as the photos on the website. The room was clean but basic, quiet with a soft, comfy bed. The carpet and bathroom floor tile should have been replaced at the time of the reno but otherwise no complaints.
