St Denis street is full of outdoor cafes and restaurants during warm days. In the fall or winter, this place is still bustling with people enjoying night out and indoor dining. It is within walking distance to Old Montreal and Chinatown where people can enjoy sightseeing and different restaurants. It is only 5 minute walk from Barry station from where one can catch a subway + express train to the airport. Downtown Montreal/ St Catherine is not too far either. Room was spacious although the faci... Read more

We got this place as part of a package thru an online booking service. I had no idea what we were getting but the price was too good to resist. I was prepared for the worst. What we got was fantastic. We had an amazingly fun long weekend. So first the positives: obviously as other reviews will state, location. We walked all over the place in the four days we stayed here. You can easily reach Chinatown, the Village, Old Town, the Port. And obviously youâ??re right in the midst of the Latin Quar... Read more

I found it to be clean and comfortable. The building is charming and old. Really cute and affordable. The jacuzzi suite was nice, a good relaxing way to start the day. I don't recommend leaving your stuff behind for the day (with the front desk) they leave your bags in an unlocked room.

I had a two-night stay at Hotel St-Denis in Aug 2017. Other than the convenient location, the hotel met my minimal expectations given the low price point. The rooms though are in dire need of sprucing up. The bed sheets, carpets, tiles, toilet sink, etc looked like they have been existing for decades.

Read reviews on this hotel and decided to book for 2 nights for our first visit to Montreal. The hotel staff was nice and bilingual. Hotel is older but has been renovated and is very clean. Room does have a mini fridge, blow dryer and the shampoo and conditioner are of the best quality. Hotel provides a place for you to park for $16 a day, add this into your hotel stay. We walked during our entire stay since hotel is centrally located to all types of restaurants. The Latin Quarter is a few bloc... Read more

I booked this fairly last-minute on a trip to Montreal and to be honest, judging by the price, I wasn't expecting much. How wrong I was. The lady on reception was so friendly and helpful and really made us feel welcome. My room was on the second floor and, although simple, was tastefully appointed. The king size bed was superbly comfortable and the room had a great bathroom, fridge, plenty of space and storage and, most thankfully, was really quiet. The window had a full length blind and cu... Good location, walking distance to the bus station, but in a nice neighbourhood. Also close to the old port and rue st. denis. Rooms were clean and front desk staff were helpful and friendly and able to check us in early.

I've visited Montreal a few times in my life, most of the time I'm there for only a day trip, but on occasion I like to stay over night. One of the reasons I didn't stay over night more often was the selection of hotels in the city. For the most part I've found the hotels in Montreal to be either overpriced or dumps. That is until I stayed at the St Denis. I wouldn't say that this is a super fancy hotel, but it's pretty nice. It has nice sized rooms, clean and well appointed. It has a great lo... Read more

But hotel fabric is more than a bit tired. It probably suffers from me staying in too many modern hotels....but they do set a standard so when staying in an old building, making comparisons is unavoidable. Having said that, the hotel is adjacent to probably the best street for restaurants in the city

We were traveling in a family group - I will admit that I had my concerns initially - based on some of the reviews I saw here, and on scouting out the neighbourhood on Google Map - but the place isn't too bad - really! There was a tiny mix-up when we arrived - caused by one of our group doing the actual booking, and another person paying on credit card. This was sorted out immediately. The hotel is about 200 meters away from the Berri UQAM Metro - you can't go wrong with that. There is also a ... Read more
