We stayed for 4 days, before a cruise (and another 2 days at another hotel with more stars after the cruise). The hotel was perfectly located - we took the local bus (which stops 2 min from the hotel) from the international airport to Hotel Astoria. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Just around the corner was a supermarket and 8 min walk to the beach. We like the area more than the other hotel (after the cruise) - it was cleaner with lots of big trees - although both hotels were in Co... Read more

We were just saying that we really enjoyed our time at this hotel as the checkin staff were friendly and it had good amenities. However we had to leave at 4am due to an early flight and the night manager decided to make that a painful experience for us. He made one of his staff go and check the room and then decided that one of the pillow cases had dirt on it and that we had to pay! I would be more understanding if this was bright red lipstick or something similar but this was simply sand dirt f... Read more

We stayed there beginning of Nov 2017 for 6 days. The hotel is very basic but worth the price. The service and breakfast were very good. The hotel staff especially Simoné and her day staff. were excellent. Every problem was solved immediately. They also speak English fluently. All the staff is friendly and helpful. I can really recommend the hotel. Josephine Fivaz & Finnie Burger South Africa.

If you don't wanna spend over 150usd a night just to be on beach strip this is a good choice. I stay here for 46 bucks and I got a free upgrade to a suite. Nice room fast wifi very close to beach. Perfect stay

The Hotel was in a "Fantastic" location, being near the Copacabana and local travel links. The room was kept very clean and the breakfast Buffet was always different and well prepared. The Staff were always willing to help you out. The only gripe I have is "why, in a multi-story Hotel, they would give you a room on the first floor, with no window view whatsoever?" (Maybe Hotels always give you a rubbish location straight away, and wait for you to complain?.. This time I did not...?)

We took a last minute trip to Rio without making advance lodging plans. We only had two days to explore Rio. We found Hotel Astoria Copacabana online. We were very pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable with a view of the pool. Our Portuguese is limited. Simone Rizzo, who speaks several languages, helped schedule shopping and dining outings. She sent us to museums and galleries that made the trip interesting and fun.

the single room i had was very very small but quiet, well furnished with fridge, tv, etc... breakfast is good, but it's really crowded and the dining room is a bit smal so you could have to wait before getting a table ... Anyway the main reason if not the only one to stay here is the location.

We spent 3 nights here, the first being our first night in Brazil after a long flight from Europe. We got there around 9PM and the double room we booked was not available... we were clearly heavily disappointed, they offered either to move to another hotel or to spend that night in 2 single rooms. We went for the last option, being too tired to move elsewhere. The single rooms were awful: almost only space for a single bed and nothing more! The day after they moved us on a double room on the sam... Read more

I stayed here a few years ago. I am re-visiting Rio soon and this hotel came up again on my search. The single budget room I booked was very poor and I refused to stay in it. They moved me to a double room at MORE THAN twice the original price. Breakfast was good a d filling. Doormen were EXCELLENT-each day I told them where I intended visiting, asked them if it was safe and they advised me accordingly. The hotel is just a couple of streets behind Copa beach. I asked the receptionist to direct m... Read more

Location of hotel is perfect, just a couple of blocks away from Copacabana beach, but the rooms are not even close of what they look like in the pictures, they are not bad, but it was sold to me as a 4 star hotel, and it is not, is just a 3 star economy hotel. Maybe i was expecting a little more.
