Sleeping Giant Rainforest Lodge - Belmopan City
Mile 36 Humming Bird Highway, Belmopan, Belize Belize

Its region gives the name away quite decisively. The portrait inscribed from mountains and standing stately against the sky can make you conclude that giants do exist. Sure it`s made of a alignment of large trees and thick forest inching up on imposing mountains, but when nature schemes into a recognizable forehead, nose, lips, chin, neck and even chest, it is easy to accept that it is in fact, a dormant and oblivious `Hercules`. With a magnificent sight and cresting at a distance, prepared to take in those heart-stopping views is Sleeping Giant Rainforest Lodge.

My wife and stayed for 4 nights and loved it! The hotel grounds are very well kept and the rooms are really cool with outdoor showers! The restaurant is good and fairly priced. Also the activities arranged through the hotel were great the staff was very friendly.

Wow! This place went beyond our expectations! We went here for our Honeymoon the beginning of November and stayed in the Mountain View Suite. We didn't even want to leave the room! The staff was incredible. Took care of our every need and made us "feel at home"! Must walk up to the gazebo to overlook the area. The hike up only takes about 20- mins, its well worth it!! The food was delicious and we were never disappointed with a meal. It is a bit pricey and the restaurant there is re... Read more

We are in our mid-30's traveling as a couple. I had been wanting to stay at sleeping Giant for awhile now, so we have been looking forward to this vacation for a long time. The staff, and resort in general, surpassed all our expectations. Such a cool place nestled in the rainforest, with picture perfect views. We had numerous tours to choose daily, but between the pool, local hiking and biking trails, and kayaking along on the river, there's a lot that do at the resort as well. I recommend takin... Sleeping Giant is a gem of a hotel, located on the beautiful Hummingbird Highway. They are centrally located and within an hours drive of many different activities (including cave tubing, St. Herman's, San Ignacio, Bocawina, Belize Zoo, etc). The guestrooms were perfectly appointed and, like the grounds, meticulously maintained. We stayed in a River View Room, which will be where we stay every time we come back. It was close to the main lodge, pool, and restaurant, but far enough away to f... Read more

so, we k now why they call it the rainforest. It rained a lot during our stay, but it didn't dampen our spirits. I agree: the riverview rooms are fantastic. They are large, artsy with local works, and the outdoor shower and tub were great. The large balcony was our main place to hang out. The grounds were beautiful and super well maintained. The food was excellent overall. The only thing we really didn't like was the continental breakfast; the menu items were much better. Yes, you really ... Read more

My partner and I arrived at around 9pm and it was pitch black. No lighting anywhere and it was a bit eeary. We felt the staff didnā??t really want to be there and the food at the restaurant was not great. We had dinner which was OK but the continental breakfast was terrible. We went for a ride through the orange fields and pet the horses and didnā??t do much else because we just wanted to get out to the beatiful islands off Belize. All in all, the views and pool/hammock/spa from the room (Mo... Read more

Sleeping Giant is a wonderful jungle lodge just south of the Blue Hole National Park on the Hummingbird Highway. Surrounded by the sights and sounds of the jungle, it is very soothing and luscious. The on-site hikes are well worth it and you can hire a guide for birding, a hike on property or a day trip to one of the amazing sights nearby. The staff is remarkably talented, attentive and well trained. The restaurant is first rate and the chef is very skilled, among the best I have encountered i... Read more

My husband and I loved our stay here. We stayed in a river view room, and it couldnā??t be more perfect. The views, the staff, the room, the grounds, the food, and the drinks were all perfect! Just so everyone knows, Wi-Fi and tv are only located in the lobby. We were fine without it, and it made the getaway a little more active than it would have normally been. The food in the restaurant is really great - and everything is so fresh. We are hoping to be able to stay here again for another trip!

Sleeping Giant was 10 times better than we even expected! The grounds are gorgeous, the staff is lovely, helpful and accommodating. All of the rooms are tastefully furnished and have excellent rainforest views. Prepare to be amazed š???š??»also- this is close to a waterfall hike, the blue hole national park and cave tubing.

Gorgeous location on river. Room has outside shower and double-bathtub. Very comfortable bed, patio overlooking river. Restaurant and concierge facilities are conveniently located near rooms. In August, a new cave was discovered on this property that has Mayan ruins, human remains from sacrifices, and is apparently much more accessible than the ATM excursion, which is more well-known. Great hike up a steep hill on the property. Gazebo at top has stunning view of entire valley and nearby hill... Read more
