The Great House - Belize City
13 Cork Street | PO Box 85, Belize City, Belize

Originally built as a family home, this wonderful structure still provides the warmth and comfort reminiscent of the early colonial times of Belize. Spacious verandas at the front and back of the house allow you to relax and let go amidst the soothing embrace of the Caribbean breezes. Only 100 meters from the Caribbean Sea, 12 miles from largest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere, 25 miles from the sites of the Mayan Civilization, and a 10 minute walk from the city center.

The colonial heritage and ambience of the property are faithfully preserved in all of the twelve guestrooms. Each is individually color coordinated with a host of tasteful and comfortable appointments.

Quiet, safe and comfortable. Restaurant below and excellent coffee place next door. Close to water taxi terminal and cruise ship dock. Walking around was fine during the day but at night felt a little scary but we did it and had no issue in the early evening. Excellent staff nice quaint rooms in a lovely old colonial building. Lovely feel to the place. All rooms are different and all seem nice. Some are quite large. Sitting on the large outside wrap around veranda on each floor is very cool, br... Read more

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Smoky Mermaid restaurant a great asset. The Petit Cafe next door for continental breakfast not very good as far as service or food. The cappuccino was great though!

A good and central hotel, clean, nice interior, very nice building (colonial style) Unfortunately they do not offer breakfast but the nearby Radisson Hotel is a good possibility to get a good breakfast!

The room was beautiful, the staff was amazing and the location was pretty great. From our hotel, we had very easy access to a few places to eat, the boardwalk along the water, Baron's Bliss Lighthouse, the Tourist Village and the water taxi depot. The staff was also able to arrange tours of the region with fairly short notice, so you could get a semi-private tour to places like Altun Ha, Lamanai, Zip Lining, Cave Tubing, etc without having to book a coach tour. Our guides arranged by the hotel w... Read more

This is a comfortable hotel with attractive rooms in an old, clapboard, historic house in the Fort George part of Belize City. It does not offer breakfast, but provides a $B7 voucher to exchange for coffee and a pastry at the Petit Cafe next door (owned by the Raddison Hotel). This is odd! Why not reduce the overall price by $B7 per person, or provide breakfast at the restaurant below the hotel?

Very satisfied with stays at the Great House in Belize City during our arrival and departure from a vacation further south in Placencia. Really nicely decorated rooms and amenities. Almost opulent. A welcome contrast to the surrounding Belize City.

Book if your looking for independent & heritage..there bare large verandas to sit outdoors, no views to speak of & the Radisson is across the way with many more amenities & a pool. The included breakfast is at a cafe with a food voucher of nominal value. If you can avoid staying in Belize city..do! There isn't anything to do.

This place is located in the heart of downtown Belize City, right across from the Radisson. This is definitely the best B&B in town and close to the tourism village and a walk to the ferry. A little pricey for what it offers, but definitely recommended to stay in the classiest B&B in the whole country!! The place looked safe and very clean from the outside. Ask for their parking...

Nice location near the water. Very attentive staff. They arranged for a tour, (Lamanai) finding one that was very personalized and yet among the most economical. In easy walking distance to the boats to Caye Caulker and Ambergris Caye.
