The stay was not what we thought it would be. They don't tell you that the casino and the huge resort hotel is closed and has been for over a year now. If you google it there is nothing mentioned about any closings. During our stay we stayed on the very end of the hotel. After checking in to our surprise we saw men with masks cleaning out rooms being renovated due to mold and water damage from the storms. We had a huge humidifier in our room and it smelled musty. I had to take my sheets off the ... Read more

The Grand Lucayan, is an excellent hotel. The grounds are nicely done, the pools are excellent, and the food is very good.Even through there are only four restaurants open on the property, the menu changes a bit daily and the food is first rate. They say location is everything and if that is true, they have the best locale on the island. The rooms are large, nicely appointed and the bed very comfortable. Their gym facilities are the best I have seen in over thirty years of traveling to the Carri... Read more

Beware!! This company is a scam!!! They conveniently called us 30 days before departure to say they were changing our $1520 fully paid itinerary with absolutely no apologies, no concessions and no refunds. They revoked our two nights on upgraded ocean view cruise ship, revoked the Grande Lucayan Bahamas resort, moved our travel dates up by two days, booked us at the significantly lower class Wyndam Fortuna in the Bahamas and expected us to pay more for ferry rides to that destination, all this ... Caught a taxi ride for a price of $10 pp round trip. The ride was about 20 mins with not much scenery but the driver did give us a little tour of Freeport which was nice. The taxi drops you off at a marketplace that sells clothes and souvenirs and has some restaurants I think. The resort is across the street, head toward lighthouse point. At first we were worried because we didnā??t see many people around. Thatā??s when we learned the resort is closed but itā??s open for day passes. I think tha... Read more

Was in Freeport as part of a cruise. The port area has some nice bars, free wi fi if you buy a drink. We took a taxi to Grand lucayan shopping and resort area, the shopping is still there, but no resort or Beach access. You have to go to the light house to gain Beach access for 20 a person. The area is still suffering from last years hurricane. Not a bad place but needs work.

We had a HORRIBLE experience. We were traveling with my 11 month old son. Upon check-in we noticed the lobby was hot, but we figured that's the way they kept it since it's open. We get to our room and it was hot so we figured the a/c was off. We turned it down and decided to head to the pool to cool off in the meantime. By the time we got back, it was still hot and seemed it wasn't working. I called the operator and they quickly apologized that the a/c wasn't working and said engineering was wor... Read more

I visited Grand Bahama in April/May and July/August this year with work and was lucky enough to stay at Lighthouse Pointe for a total of about 5 weeks. I stayed all inclusive on both occasions and, yes, the buffet food at lunch and dinner did get a bit repetitive on occasion, but overall I was very happy with the quality of the food on offer. I broke up my stays with the odd meal out at Port Lucaya. Breakfast at Lighthouse Pointe is particularly good and everything was always replenished and ver... Read more

Our group of 8 took a van over to this formerly great hotel property which appears to tbe closed now, but they have pool/beach day passes which was excellent. Gorgeous property, beautiful beach and pool, nice bar and very good food. Best way to kill the day on Freeport.

Did a cruise and stay at this location. Overall a great stay. Many food options all yummy. The bar staff was a delight. The property boasts many rooms on a luxurious property. Right across from the straw market. Beautiful beach!! Would stay again if given the opportunity.

Check in was fast, we got to our first room and it smelled terrible! Also the a/c didn't work correctly. The panel for it was broken as well. Holes in the curtains and I was nervous just to sit on the bedding... We called to switch rooms, they did so pretty much no questions asked. Our next room was much much better. Although the shower didn't work properly. Everything is outdated and the furniture is all banged up. In the room our book said we could use 3 pools, the swim bar pool, the lap pool,... Read more
