Came for honeymoon, loved the location of our bungalow just up on the hill with a beach view and just a 2 minute walk to a pool with the swim up bar. Pool facilities are great and staff are young and friendly. Canâ??t go wrong anywhere with accomodation in Hamilton really, but this place was great for its privacy, location and service.

Hamilton Island was an agreeable surprise. The amenities, staff and the island were great. The Bungalows were really comfortable and close to Marina Village, swimming pools, shopping. They seemed to be relatively recently updated as the interior was painted in light shades and the bathroom had half glass screen and fabulous shower. We loved being at ground level, as opposed to being in the high rise hotel, and had privacy as well as a lovely green outlook. As well as the above there are free shu... Read more

Anyone who remembers the 60s tv series with Patrick Mcgoohan will be at home on Hamilton Island. It is basically a modern purpose built resort with various hotels restaurants, bars shops mainly around the Marina area. On arrival at the airport you are collected by numerous bright young things who direct you onto buses for the short trip to check in. Many residents travel about by electric golf buggies whose silent approach can surprise the unwary. A regular shuttle bus service runs round the isl... Read more

Hamilton Island is such a unique place, it's so charming! It is an island that for the most part people don't use cars on. You rent buggys (golf carts) and use those. There is a marina and a "downtown" area with a pharmacy, bakery, grocery store and lots of shops and restaurants. I would say the food was good, but not great, but there was a good variety to choose from. Room: We stayed in room 35 of the palm bungalows and I highly recommend! It is like a studio apt with a kitchenette. It... Read more

We arrived on an early morning flight at 9.30 am. W knew that check in time was 2pm and the reception said that staff were cleaning them now and hoped to be able to give us access before then. As it turned out, it was 1.30 before we had the keys! We had bungalow No 12, on the row to the right of the massive hotel. They have apparently been refurbished and were roomy and well appointed. The 'private' decks in front of the bungalows are in fact very public - the path for pedestrians and golf carts... Read more

We were so excited to be going to Hamilton Island with my children. Sadly the island lacks atmosphere or personality. First day in the Reef Hotel is full to the brim of the great unwashed covered in tattoos and bad manners. Second day in couldn't get a golf buggy and jumped the Island bus. A woman decided her 2 children, large food eske and 3 pieces of luggage should be on the tiny island bus with us! I am chronically ill just came out of hospital and told to move for her bag so her 8 year old c... Read more

Palm Bungalows was a nice set up- kitchenette, studio bedroom with a modern style. The location was good- about a 7 minute walk to the marina (although there were uphills and downhills) and 3 minute walk to the tour planning area. Service was good- if you give them your flight info, they provide a golf cart to drive your bags from Reef View Hotel before and after your connection to the airport. Honestly, the food was overpriced and not very good on Hamilton Island, so it was good to have the ... Read more

Positives: - secluded and quiet - new bathrooms and kitchen facilities with all required amenities - buggy parking right outside each bungalow - air conditioned Negatives: - although quiet, we had screaming neighbours (can't help who you are put near!) - location may be a bit far for some people to walk to everything. We hired a buggy for the duration of our stay, which I strongly recommend... sooo much easier to get around! - our room wasn't cleaned one day, and for no apparent reason. Overall... Read more

We loved our bungalow with a resident wallaby between our bungalow and the one next door. It had everything needed, including fridge and the bathroom was wonderful. The bed was comfortable and the hammock on the front porch great fun. It is located in an area with lots of trees and it's like waking up in the jungle! Hamilton Island is very different, all walkable, free buses round the island and no cars only golf buggies. It is a resort with various forms of accommodation so not a castaway isla... Read more

Palm bungalows were convenient for us as we have an infant but I don't think you would want any more than a couple and a baby in them as it is a small space. Very basic kitchenette but would be ok for snacks. Clean and tidy, room is made up each day. No water view but quite pleasant leafy area. Very close to main resort areas, pools and beach and short walk to main strip with restaurants, shops etc
