My wife and I have stayed here 4 times now and have thoroughly enjoyed each visit. Locally known as the best "classic" hotel in BA, the Hyatt Park being the "trendy" alternative, its old world charm makes it the clear winner for me. TIP: If you have the hotel concierge arrange a transfer from the airport upon your arrival AND they send you a PDF map showing where the driver will be waiting at the airport...don't trust that the company also told your driver. We spent 20 minutes looking for th... Read more

We are staying at the elegant Alvear Palace in Buenos Aires. The hotel is beautiful with marble everywhere, but what. Sets this hotel apart is the fabulous staff. When we checked in, Emanuel was so nice and helpful and gave us a great room for or first 5 days. When our 2nd trip was cancelled, he set us up immediately with an equally nice suite for the next 5 nights with no problems whatsoever. He welcomed us back and made us feel at home. Together with Manuel, they run the reservation desk per... Read more

This was our third trip to Buenos Aires but first time at the Alvear Palace. Incomparable service with top drawer amenities. The staff was very accommodating allowing us early check in which was most appreciated after an 8+ hour overnight flight. High touch service to include nightly turndown service with linen refresh to a concierge desk that confirmed airline reservations and printed boarding passes. The breakfast was superb. The Alvear Palace definitely earns their 5 star reviews!

We loved everything about the Alvear Palace. It has an old world charm and some newly renovated rooms. We stayed in the more modern suite on the 10th floor. The furninshings were gorgeous and classy with a breakfast and snack louge on the floor. We were lucky to get a deal on the rae which made the stay even better.

We stayed one week in July 2016 and loved everything about the hotel. I think we had a junior suite which was big enough for us and our 9 year old daughter. We loved the lobby bar, breakfasts - all the food was delicious - and ambience couldn't be beat. Perfect location for us. We loved this hotel so much, didn't want to leave. All staff exceptional and we cannot wait to go back. What a lovely, lovely stay! We had our birthdays while there and they helped arrange the most fantastic tango lessons... Read more

We stayed for 4 nights in a Junior Suite and after an initial check-in hiccup with the choice/location of room, we did enjoy our stay here. This is a beautiful grande hotel, in a nice location, with very professional staff throughout. The breakfast was excellent, as was "High Tea" and visiting the lobby bar. They even knew how to make "real" tea with tea leaves, which was delightful and appreciated. Initially, we were allocated a very dark back Junior Suite(at that price?!!) looking out to dark... I would go back for the exceptional service and attention to detail. I appreciate how much work the staff must perform to maintain the property, and keep it so clean and modern. I have been told that the Alvear is one of the few remaining hotels in BA that still holds on to "Old World Customs" providing concierge services that are powerful and discrete. Experiencing the hotel in full action is incredible.

Did not stay at the hotel but wanted to see it so stopped in at the Lobby Bar for coffee. Wonderful experience! With the gilded opulence surrounding you you might expect stuffiness. Not at all. The waiter was extremely personable and efficient. The coffee service included a pastry sampler tray - memorable in itself. Sitting there it was easy to imagine living as a titan of industry in some begone era. But we felt very comfortable just being ourselves.

Very nicely located in front of the famous graveyard where Elvita Peron (and a lot of others in nice monuments) is buried. Staff very nice and dedicated. Service close to perfection. The only thing that was missing was a real pool.
