My stay in the Bao Dai's Villas was the best experience ever. The hotel located in a very nice area along the coastal line with beautiful beach and perfect view. The rooms there are big, clean, and comfortable. There are two restaurants, one is on the hill and one is down the beach. Food at the two restaurants were delicious. People there were very friendly. People who like quite place will love this hotel. Although it is a bit far from downtown area, there are always taxi waiting at the hotel. ... Read more

You can always tell when a hotel or entertainment venue is state owned. The service, food, furnishings and cleanliness are always a bit lacking. This place that is steeped in so much history is kept in such a sad state. It has the best location in Nha Trang and I can only imagine what private enterprise could do with it and still retain its charm. I've been told that the last Emperor, Bao Dai only stayed there one weekend a year. No wonder Ho Chi Minh gave him a offer he could not refuse.

Took a taxi from Nha Trang to view the Emperor's villa and found it closed. You can just glimpse the buildings from the road. Let's hope for a sympathetic restoration to its Imperial glory! The villas are a fair way out of town so transportation is needed.
