This hotel was trying to rip me off every chance they can get. I booked a queen size bed but they gave me two tiny twin size beds. They said they just ran out of queen size bedrooms. So I had no choice even though I had already booked the queen bedroom before arriving. It's all on their terms and they did nothing to help alleviate the situation. Not only that, but I had a friend with me who came to visit and only stayed in the room with me during the day for a few hours while I got ready. They s... Read more

I would like to recommend for this hotel who is planning to visit Ho Chi Min city with reasonable price accommodation. The rooms are large and very clean. The bed are also really comfortable. For night out there a street about 200 meters from hotel. There are many bars, restaurants, foot messages, travel agents. Ban Tan market and night market are also about 15 minute walk. So nice! Except breakfast ! The breakfast are normal and they don't have many choices.

Clean and comfortable room and a nice breakfast - get in early though as room can be hard especially if you are travelling with others - tables tend to go quickly in the busy part of the morning for breaky. Nice service, thanks guys.

Terrible hotel with poor sound proofing. The staff is lạck of attention to customer. I had to call 3 times for extra pillow and waited 30' to get it sent to my room. Very bed smell in the room it comes from the toilet after i use it, i asked reception to send someone to fix it but no one comes until my leaving time

Hi, I have stayed at the Vien Dong many times over the last 10 years. Late last year they had a makeover, which also added a bit to the prices. We stayed for 10 days over the Christmas Period. The new look is very nice, new look lobby, All Rooms have new decor and the old carpet flooring has been replaced with Wood look overlay.. Probably quite sensible as the carpet was getting well worn and marked. A nice little extra at Vien Dong is they give you some tea bags and coffee and a small electric... Read more

I brought a small tour group from Australia to stay at this hotel. Rooms are airy and roomy, clean and well equipped. This is not a budget hotel, but the price is reasonable for the location which is right in the back packer area, a 15 minute stroll to the Ben Thanh Markets, and just a few minutes from the semi organized chaos of Bui Vien st. This is an older hotel that has recently been refitted with quite some success. Staff are helpful and speak English and Chinese well. One good thing is the... Read more

Hotel is very new. Room very comfortable well air conditioned and good amenities. Location is very convenience and close to eateries on the left and right side with nice cafe near by with wifi. Hotel staff are very professional and very helpful. Crossing the very busy road is make simple by the ever ready hotel door staffs to assist. On the left side of the hotel a short distance turn left the street is very lively with bars and seafood restaurants on both side of the street. The shopping mall... Read more

Stayed here with my girlfriend. Room was nice and big, bed was ok, pillows were a bit rough. Close to a few little food places and shops etc... Very very noisey and loud though, especially at night when trying to sleep. Cars beeping all the time. The breakfast was included free, however, whenever we went down there was nothing available and they didn't regularly restock the trays it seemed. Decent for the special price we got. Close to everything also.

Small room but clean and not bad for what we paid. Breakfast was nice with a bit to chose from. Location was great as it was across from the park. Gym was quite basic. One exercise bike which worked great. Couldn't get the treadmill to work, but that could have been due to a hidden power switch i couldn't find. Ill give them the benefit of the doubt

I felt quite spoilt at this hotel or should I say feel spoilt, as I'm writing this from my room at the start of a two week tour of Vietnam. The hotel was centrally located & close to the markets. The hotel rooms were clean and comfortable with air conditioning and decent bathrooms and shower facilities. Wifi is free throughout the hotel. The breakfast provided a good variety of buffet food plus a guy making omelettes. The hotel even provided our group with umbrellas to use for the night due to t... Read more

I was stay here for 1 night and check in late at night with my girlfriend after a late flight from Ha Noi. The front desk man asked me to have 2 seperate room while i already booked 1 because we did not have married certificate. He said I just pay 500k to book another room just by pass in case the police visit. He did not let my girlfriend's friend go up to the room too. This hotel is terrible and never stay again.. I'll share this experience with other to void this hotel make people get mad whi... Read more

I stayed at the Vien Dong for 4 nights, and it suited every need I had. It is not a luxurious hotel however it is central and fulfils all needs. Each rooms has a television, mini bar, kettle with condiments and is on suite. Everything I needed for my travels. The breakfast was delicious and composed of a viarety of foods. The staff were exceptional, they were friendly and helpful in all aspects and spoke English really well. The aircon and WiFi were life savers. I'd definitely go back ... Read more

Stayed for 3 nights - two in room 908 and then on return from the Mekong Delta in a different room for a night. We were on a Contiki but first night was not part of the trip yet. We arrived by transfer from the airport, where the porters assisted with our bags. Check-in was quick and easy. Room 908 was spacious and clean, and the bed was very comfy. The shower head was a bit unstable and moved a bit but all worked well. Our second room was also clean and not bad at all. Buffet breakfast is very ... Read more

Didn't have a view from my room, but still a window out into the hallway. Breakfast was average, but free. Very good location, might be a bit noisy since it's close to a hostel/bars. Close to restaurants, night markets etc. Would stay again.

The lobby and halls of the hotel are really nice. But behind the door of our room we found a dirty, loud, stuffed room. With no actual window that could be opened. Just a tiny window that didn't have a curtain, so the entire room would be filled with sunlight in the morning. The music and noise of the Bui Vien street is easily heard for a good portion of the night and early mornings. And to top it all of we found the people at the reception not really helpful and sometimes even rude. The hardwor... Read more

Despite a smiling reception staff and very friendly, the hotel, which was very well some time ago, became uncomfortable. The taps of the shower room are blocked, the television does not work, and much negative to say. Only the breakfast that deserves a positive. Room prices are not competitive compared to data services. There are many better hotels in the area. The management of this hotel seems incompetent.

Stayed here for 4 nights in early Nov. 2016. Rooms were of an acceptable size nicely furnished with really comfy beds and quality bedding which was changed daily. Room amenities included satellite t.v. with free channels, free strong WiFi, good air conditioning, mini bar/fridge, free tea/coffee, water replaced daily. Nice sized wardrobe with internal lights and a safe. Bathroom was small but perfectly functional with bath and overhead shower (mine wasn't adjustable so hand held) plenty hot water... Read more

I really like the location of the hotel... staff was friendly... rooms were good size and comfortable bed... good price... hotel is just around the corner from The backpackers district... took one star off because they charged me an extra $7 at check in due immediately for my wife because when I booked the hotel they said it was only for one guest? Never had any hotel ever charge me extra for my wife but oh well... Didn't eat at the breakfast buffet because Ho Chi Minh has so many places to eat.

The reception is lovely but room was not so nice- very tired. We weren't welcomed by the reception staff and were told there were no double rooms available (despite us booking a double room the previous day). No apology was given. We tried to run a bath but had to top it up with boiled water from the kettle. I don't recommend this place.
