The staff at the hotel were very friendly and attentive. In particular the gents at the front door lugging our suitcases up and down stairs and bringing us cold water while we were at the tables out the front. The room we stayed in was a good size and the bath with the spa jets was super relaxing. The wifi wasn't great. There wasn't a huge selection at breakfast. We were told that room service finished at 7.30pm, which is very early. Then they suggested that we go upstairs to eat instead. So we... Read more

We recently stayed at the Ruby River and the staff were very accommodating without exception. The room was good and the breakfast was also very good. The staff were friendly throughout the Hotel and made a point of looking after us. The Hotel was easy distance to major attractions in HCM City

We stayed at the Ruby River for 5 days and we loved it! The location to all attractions, shopping and food stalls in the Backpacker area. The staff were always helpful, happy to help and great with advise on where to visit and what to see. Our room had a view of the city and was so comfortable and roomy. The breakfast buffet was ok but enough. Wifi was good sometimes but it suited our needs. We found the bed to be comfortable but some may find it rather hard. We are staying here again in May... We were greeted with plenty of smiles at any time of the day. Everyone speaks good English. I love that they were all so attentive, that they knew exactly what I wanted before I asked them. Great job and keep on smiling! There are two (or maybe more..) universal sockets in the room, so this is very convenient. Room is spotless and cosy. The bath-tub is a dream! Wi-fi is strong, I know because I watched Youtube every night before sleep. For great view of the city, head up to their breakfast area... Read more

Excellent location, centrally located to all the local attractions. Very easy to get around. The staff was incredibly helpful, and breakfast was great. The only complaint is that the bed was a little hard to sleep on.

Stayed here in 2015, rooms were a little smaller than shown in the photos but this didn't bother us as was just a room to sleep in while out exploring the city! close and walk able to everything Benh Thanh, War Atrocities museum, and other Markets! Breakfast was basic but it got you a good start to the day, and lots of little restaurants Would stay here again!

We stayed here for a couple of nights as part of a package deal and were very pleased with the hotel. Staff were very friendly, rooms were small but clean with a comfortable bed, free wifi and lots of channels on the TV, including films. Breakfast was good and we ate on the balcony with great views. We were a bit daunted the first day as non of the eateries/shops in the immediate area had any English but we soon found our way around, visiting the market and the Bitexco building (where there i... We arrived on my friend's birthday and as I had mentioned this to the staff earlier they had prepared a lovely surprise for us; we were upgraded to a VIP room and on arrival were greeted with wine, chocolate cakes and spring rolls. The staff then continued to be fantastic throughout our stay, we couldn't have asked for better!

We stayed at the Ruby River Hotel for four nights in June. Staff were very welcoming and friendly from the start, particularly a lady called Tien who was always smiling and happy to help. We booked the Ruby Room, which although a little small was well furnished, clean and very bright and airy. The bed is quite firm, which I prefer but may be a little too hard for some people's taste. There is no restaurant in the hotel, although we did order room service which was perfectly tasty and available 2... Read more

The hotel doesn't look appealing from the outside, but once inside you are welcomed by friendly staff, in a clean, simple reception area, and given a cold glass of juice. The rooms are small but in good order. They provide items such as shampoo, tooth brush, razor etc. Hair dryer and tea making facilities included. The aircon in the room was powerful. The bed was quite hard for my liking. Breakfast was nice. Something for everyone. The location was great. A short walk to the main market... Read more

We stayed at Ruby River at the beginning and end of our trip. Accommodation was clean and pleasant, and it's a good location for hitting the high points of HCMC. We walked to an amazing foot massage, the markets, and a great European restaurant only a couple of blocks away. Good value, can't go wrong.

Due to a stuff up with initial booking we ended up at the Ruby and were welcomed by very friendly and helpful staff. The room was good and "Oh Joy" the hot water was actually hot which you are desperate for after 12 hours of acft seat. Breakfast was modest but with a pleasant view. One disappoint is a mouldy smell.......which likely to be AIR CON filter.

Stayed for two nights. Hotel located at a quiet street and near to Benh Tah market, the central shopping area. Friendly staff. Room was reasonably sized and clan. Even had a jacuzzi in the bathroom. Food was abundant. The staff even helped to arrange a day tour. Overall, reasonably nice hotel.

Service from staff at this hotel was friendly, warm and helpful; advising "do's" and "do not's" when it came to safety and general advice on Ho Chi Minh City. The location of this hotel is a short walk from the market and restaurants, with a "K convenience" only two doors down for that necessary snack or ice cream! Breakfast was tasty (and coffee was perfect!!)

Super friendly staff on arrival, after a friendly pick up at the airport. Cold drinks on sign in, room ready early. Family with 2 teenagers very happy to see the air con and free wifi. Central to market city, 30min.walk to War Remnants Museum. All you want near by. Recommended a great dinner place for us and kids. We had breakfast included, good variety. Very clean, great place for staying and doing tours, as pickup from the foyer. Staff very friendly and helpful.

After having traveled for a full day the Ruby River was a lovely welcome to Ho Chi Minh. Although being skeptical of the 'upgrade' we were offered, due to previous reviews, it was nothing to be afraid of. In fact it turned out to be better due to the renovations happening on the front side of the hotel. The ruby river is extremely central - 5 mins from the market and 10 mins from the backpacker district which is perfect for exploring the city. Taxis to and from the hotel were cheap and the sta... My fiancé and I stayed here on two separate occasions in Sept. & Oct 2015. This hotel is clean, has very friendly staff and is in a fantastic location. The famous Ben Thanh Market, amongst many other things to do, is within walking distance. The first room we stayed in was very clean and basic, but for the price I must give it 5 stars! The second room we stayed in was on the 8th floor (I believe), and it was bigger compared to the first room (which was I believe on the 7th floor) and had a real... Read more

Nice hotel with great service. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Worth for the money. My luggage was delayed, I reached the hotel unhappily, the hotel staff welcome me with friendly smile, drink and walk along with me to show my room location, explain to me on some of the room service. I felt much more better with the great service. The next day upon requested, the hotel staff help me to call and follow up with Airport on the delivery of luggage . I got my luggage finally. The hotel is located about 5 minutes walk from Ben Thanh Market and 10-15 minutes to the backpacker area. Circle K convenience store a few steps away for a quick snack or cold drink. The main sights can be walked to in 20-30 minutes or you can take a short taxi ride. There is a VinaSun supervisor outside so getting a taxi is really easy. If you want to go to Vung Tau, the Hoa Mai bus company is across the street. 2 hour bus ride to Vung Tau. Our room was clean and pretty big. Bre... Read more

We had a triple shared room, very clean, and great service and very close to night markets. Only complaint however the beds were very hard especially the roll out one. Complimentary water each day along with fresh fruit to welcome guests. Good variety at breakfast.

This hotel is upmarket and the room was good with en-suite and very clean. Staff helpful with an issue I had, nothing to do with hotel, and obliging. Full breakfast service which set us up for the day. Location near big market but eating houses bit hard to find nearby. We recommend this hotel

I stayed in this hotel with my sister and father for 4 days. Rooms are quite small but clean. What the room lacks in size the amazing staff and breakfast more than up for. The staff was incredibly helpful and went out of their way for us several times to make our experience the best. Breakfast was fantastic every morning. Also, the hotel is very close to a popular market that we enjoyed as well.

We stayed here for one day in December 2015. As in most of the Vietnamese hotels we stayed at, we were offered a "welcome drink" on arrival. Generally very helpful staff. Also made a dinner reservation for us. Rooms are OK standard - not bad, not great. There is quite a bit of traffic passing by outside the hotel, so there may be some noise issues at times. Quiet at night, though. All in all, a pretty good value.

This hotel was actually part of a tour package I booked in Vietnam so I didn't really know too much about it. However on my arrival they greeted me with an orange juice and they even gave me an up grade. The room was very nice - even if its meant to be standard, the room I got must of been higher as its seemed really lovely. The staff are also very friendly.

We stayed here for 3 nights last month. While the room was on the small side, it was very comfortable and clean. Wi-Fi and aircon worked fine and breakfast catered for all tastes and was served on the top floor with a great view over the city. There was some refurbishment work taking place during our stay but it did not effect us at all. Location is close to all the main attractions and markets. The staff are all very friendly and on arrival we were given a very welcoming cold drink.

Nothing to complain about here. Nice rooms with good amenities. Included breakfast was very good and we enjoyed eating Al Fresco on the 9th floor. The staff were great, we bought SIM cards for $5US, welcome drinks, what's not to like! They provided a handy leaflet which gave us a good starting map and safety hints for surviving HCMC! We could walk to the "backpacker" area in about 15 mins for good cheap meals (Five Oyster Restaurant). The markets were close by, and even the Skydeck building wa... Read more
