i would rate this hotel just below average but for the cheap price i paid, u get what u paying for. room size is ok. furniture is dated. Air con takes a while to cool. Breakfast is very limited. Other than that housekeeping do a good job cleaning. location is 5min to Ben thanh market, restaurant aplenty in the area and 24hr convenience store just below hotel. Good hotel for people on the budget.

spent 3 nights here - great location just a few minutes walk to central markets (buyer beware - sellers are very "enthusiastic" to get your business) lots of food choices - japanese, french, vietnamese, thai.....

We had 2 days here before our 10 day your stated with intrepid. Room was barely adequate - the shower leaked terribly and flooded the bathroom every time we used it. Information in hotel info book was out of date - promoting tours the reception no longer supported booking ( leaving it to us to book ourselves and being new to the country we got scammed ). Info desk also had put of date about intrepid tour - not sure if this was their mistake or intrepid a but caused confusion re the itinery and a... Read more

Stayed for two nights (one as Intrepid group and one as extension to the trip in Saigon) and the hotel was quite comfy. Room quite spacious, location fine with shops and cafes next door. We didn't use the breakfast (even though it was part of the package) as we were quite put off by the lived-in smell in the breakfast area, which is essentially the same as the hotel lobby. Double-glazing would be most welcome in the rooms as you can hear an awful lot of noise from the street and the construction... Read more

Stayed for two nights, in two separate rooms. First night was in a single room with a double bed. I had a hard time falling asleep because of the noise from the streets nearby and found the AC to be oppressive (directly above the bed and the room is small). Second night, I stayed in a double room with one twin and one double bed. This was much better as the room was bigger and the AC was positioned at the foot of the bed so I didn't feel as though it was blowing in my face. The double room ... Read more

Well located the hotel is comfortable and clean however the service could be better. The latter is a challenge for them as what makes a stay VG or excellent is the service. When I came downstairs at 6am the night porters were asleep on the couches; on the second day breakfast was not ready for the advertised time of 6.30am and in general the staff did not seem nearly as happy and helpful as I experienced in so many places throughout Viet Nam.

I have stayed in this hotel for the 3rd time. It is located in the centre, close to many food outlets and tourist places. It is clean and nice. Staff are great and very gentle, always ready to help. I booked a deluxe room but they upgraded to next level. Most of all, it is good value for money.. I will stay again when I go to Vietnam.

the location of the hotel strategic, near everything but not so crowded as pham ngu lao. The bed and bathroom clean enough, made up everyday, I stayed 4 nites, 2 rooms, I travelled with my family (2 adult children). The breakfast delicious but the food not fast added when it was finished. but the male front office officer not so nice. The hotel overall good.

We stayed here twice during our stay in Vietnam. If I'd have done this review after the first time we stayed it would be a 3, maybe even 4 star, however the second time we stayed there really took the mickey! After being awake since 2am to fly from Nha Trang to HCMC, we were excited to finally slump on the bed for a well earned nap. We arrive at 9am and get told were not allowed to check in until 1pm, despite the week before the cleaners knocking on our room at 8am to ask if they can clean our ... Read more

We stayed twice. The first room was very large the second small. Not really soundproofed ,noise in next room could be heard. It is an old hotel ,a little worn in places but handy location with great coffee shop ,convenience store and bottle shop at your door. The rooms were also clean and tidy which is the main thing. Breakfast was average in comparison to other hotels . ,

We stayed here at the end of our tour. Nice hotel to finish off our trip, centrally located, clean rooms and helpful staff. The aircon works well, taxis available outside the door, it is a nice hotel that has all local amenities required to enjoy the local area

You get what you pay for. Good location. If you set your expectations going in that the rooms are a motel, you'll be less disappointed. The cleanliness of the rooms seems to vary (I had a friend staying in another room and the bathroom has black mold) but mine was ok. Rooms definitely has seen better days (major scuff marks on walls, outdated/worn furnishings, random holes in walls, gaps in floor boards) but it's ~$20 a night. You get what you pay for.

This hotel is centrally located so you can walk to most of the major attractions. The central markt is 2 minutes away. Rooms were comfy with good shower. Breakfast is good with a range of food to suit both Asain and Western tastes. Lift is small and did breakdown and the safe in the room was tricky to open, had to get reception to use the pass key to get back out passports. Over all good place to stay with freindly staff. Good little beer shop next door and coffee shop on the corner... Read more

We stayed here three nights while doing a four day tour with intrepid/urban. Room was fine, tidied daily with fresh sheets and towels. Nothing fancy and perfect if you're in and out as its a great location. I wouldn't recommend if you are after something very tidy with a nice restaurant. Luckily it is so close to everything you don't need to eat here -westerners don't expect a western breakfast!

This hotel is nice and comfortable and well located for many attractions. The market is about 5 minutes walk away. The rooms are smallish but have plenty of power points for recharging everything. Although breakfast starts at 6.30 - do not go down until at least 15 minutes after this as it was not usually ready. Breakfast was good. Quite noisy being a city centre hotel - didnt notice any double glazing.

Arriving around 9.00 after a 12 hour flight the Asian Ruby Hotel was just right. We (myself and daughter) couldn`t check in untill 12.30/1.00 so we sat in foyer just soaking up the air con, 30 mins later they were pleased to say they had cleaned a room for us, we had a double room at the rear with window, a safe, fresh clean sheets on bed .. tidied daily, excellent air con, very clean with decent size bathroom with bath and overhead shower, soft absorbent towels and bathroom condiments plus ... We are now staying here. Rooms with no windows. Smelly and humid. VERY UNFRIENDLY STAFF. IT IS A SHAME. Because hotel has been renovated and looks Good on the outside. Also breakfast is quite short, unfriendly service AND DO NOT TAKE LUNCHBOX IF YOU HAVE TO LEAVE EARLY;Simply dreadful; 2 slices of dry bread, 2 packages of frozen butter and 2 small slices of something pretending to be cheese

We locked in quite a few hotels near the Ben Thanh Market. By the time we are ready to book, many good hotels are full except Asian Ruby Central. The quality of their service exceeded our expectation. When we arrived the hotel by taxi at around 7pm, there were concierge staff waiting at the entrance. They helped us carry our luggage to the lobby immediately. Check-in procedure was quick. The staff carried our luggage to our room and offered to set up the safe for us though we didn't need it. Asian Ruby (Four) Central Hotel is located centrally in Ho Chi Minh tourist district. So much to see and do. The streets come alive at dusk. We found the amenities to be clean and the staff to be very helpful. Small issue with water in minibar- three bottles on arrival and cleaner replacing (adding) one bottle mid stay which resulted in a charge for the bottle that was not there on check in. This issue was resolved quickly.

This Hotel is the worst hotel i have ever stayed in Asia. The rooms are very small never 30m2 it's amounted to costumers. The hotel should have been renovated in 2015 that's a lie. The room is very old dirty and the bath too both needs a renovation. It's very overpriced for what you get. In my room the air condition didnt work and i had no hot water in the shower at my 1st day they repaired it. It should be 3 Star Hotel but it's a none Star Hotel. They guy at the reception is very unfriendly anf... Read more

I will say I felt very safe at the Asian Ruby Central Hotel!! I was a solo traveler, but I had some friends also staying at the hotel. My room was tiny in comparison to their's but it had a bed, bathroom, and fridge, so overall it was great. I loved the area, and it was walkable to many of the major hotspots in Ho Chi Minh. If you want to know more about that, check out my review of Saigon Hotpot, its great free walking tour you can take!! I would definitely stay here again, if you get a corner... Read more
