Recently stayed at the riverside Renaissance and I was very happy overall. The desk staff have me a complimentary room upgrade to a corner room overlooking the river which was very nice. The executive lounge is well stocked and has good views as well. The room was spacious and very clean/comfortable. I will stay here again. It's location was nice, easy walking around downtown and in a safe area. The only negative about this place is the elevators are extremely slow, requiring a miserable walt. ... Read more

Expect outstanding service and large rooms at this beautiful hotel. Outstanding gym and club level. Breakfast is outstanding as it offers a large variety of choices. At peak hours elevators can be slow.

We (family with 3 kids) enjoyed our 4 nights here. The hotel has a very nice rooftop swimming pool, until 9PM kids can enjoy to the maximum, after 9PM only adults allowed and surrounded by a disco with colorful lights show.

Our family stayed here for 3 nights, and it was a very comfortable hotel with the same feeling as a Marriott hotel in the United States. After travelling two weeks in Vietnam we were very happy to have a Western style hotel - clean, with good air conditioning, nice sitting areas, and restaurant. On the other hand, the hotel has little character or charm (since it was exactly like the hotels where we live in the USA), and it would have been nice if there was some Vietnamese character since after... The Renaissance Riverside Hotel is a truly incredible property. Located in the heart of downtown Ho Chi Minh, very close to the Ben Than marketplace, it provides any newcomer to the city the opportunity to explore the city on foot, discovering many of its secrets. The rooms at the hotel are great - we ended up with a corner river view and could not have been happier. The beds are comfy, rooms are spacious, and shower is a little slice of heaven after the hot Ho Chi Minh summer days. The staff a... Read more

Well equipped gym open 24 hours. Standard clean marriott room with those facing the river having a good view. Marriott. com pestered me prior to check-in to use the web feature so my key would be waiting. In fact when I arrived, no such thing and the check-in required a standard amount of time. The staff is relatively competent, but not particularly attentive beyond the basic requirements to the traveler's needs.

I am a Marriott fan. I stay with Marriott as often as possible when traveling. I was disappointed here for a couple reasons. First, when making the reservation on the Marriott website/app, I specifically requested extra pillows, towels, etc. None of these items were provided. One of the three elevators did not work, and taking the stairs was like a maze, with little help from staff until they realized we were not the only customers having issues. Finally, breakfast was decent, but was forc... Read more

Well situated in Ho Chi MInh City. With river front and major shops nearby. Ben Thanh market is only 20 minutes walk. Swimming pool (level 21) and Club lounge (level 18) have great city view and river view. Rooms are clean and spacious. Staff are friendly and helpful. One major downfall for a 5 stars hotel in this day and ages: NO free wifi in your room.

I stayed in an club level room with access to the executive lounge and was impressed with the lounge staff, food, and facilities. Lots of choices for meeting rooms and boardrooms for different sized groups. The rooms are modern, spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet was very high standard with a very wide selection of the local exotic fruits. The rooftop pool area is a great place to end a day, take in some fresh air, a swim, a drink, or enjoy some great music as well as excellent views over ... Read more

Prefer to use Marriott being a member. This one looked good on TripAdvisor and otherwise on hotels and booking.com. stayed for 4 nights with wife and 3 yr old son. Location good, 5 mins off from the walking street which is really crowded and fun over the weekend. The rooms exactly as it's shown on the website, or here in TripAdvisor, but feels a bit old. The river view is nice but it's not a jingling harbour or any thing spectacular in view, except that the other side of river is open green ex... Read more

Enjoyed my 3-night stay in Saigon. Though hotel is undergoing some renovation works in on the ground floor, it didn't affect our stay at all. Beautiful view from the Liquid Sky Bar on 21st floor. They gave us a corner room with river view. Lovely. The room was very spacious to accommodate an extra bed for my son. Many nice eateries around the hotel. Walking distance to many attractions in Saigon.

Nice hotel situated at the Saigon river. The business center has a perfect view on the river. The staff is very friendly. I guess this is the Marriott policy but surely the kind character of the Vietnamese. The rooms are big and comfy, most of all proper and clean. I will return to this hotel for sure

Is a great location not far from many restaurants and bars. If you can get a room with view of Saigon river it is worth even so you will see desolated land across. They have a nice pool bar on top floor which does not seem so busy but has ive DJ music.

Stayed here overnight on the way thru. Excellent breakfast and clean spacious room. Can't ask for much more on an overnight stay. The rooftop bar was a very good view but a bit hexxy and would suggest going out for food given plenty of cheap options nearby.

Having stayed in many Marriott properties, this one is somewhat tired looking. The rooms are clean but old and dull. The good news is the hotel is going through a major refurb at the moment so my review might be very different if I revisited once complete. The refurb is relatively unobtrusive but does take away from any impressiveness that might have come from staying at a fancy chain such as Renaissance. The staff are just as friendly, particularly the ladies up in the Exec lounge. Breakfast ha... Read more

Upon arrival to the lobby we were escorted to the Club Lounge. First pleasant surprise was an upgrade to a Suite compliments of General Manager. The room had a spectacular view overlooking the river and the Tran Hung Dao Statue. What a scene! The second surprise was the welcome amenity including two drinks, desserts, prosecco cheese platter and wine thanks to Director of Operations and Marriott Rewards. The team at the Renaissance Riverside made sure that we were taken care of throughout our stay. Our room was exceptionally clean and after a small hiccup at check-in we received a bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries. We would like to thank the lovely front office manager for everything. Breakfast buffet here was delicious and included foods from around the world. The rooftop pool and fitness center are state of the art. This is a great place to stay.

It is a good hotel. Front Office is good. Fluent in English. Buffet breakfast is good. You can try out the local cuisine as well, Rooms are good. I had only one unfortunate experience. I thought they would have a day doctor but they did not. Wanted to get BP measured. But the reception could not provide pointers on that. Maybe they were not geared for that. Otherwise , net net - a decent hotel with good service. The hotel is close to the river - walk by the river is recommended.

I had booked this hotel and requested a non-smoking king size room overlooking the river only to find out when I arrived that there were only rooms with single beds available. This actually was displeasing given that the hotel could of contacted me and let me know that king rooms were not available and I could of said yes or no to the booking. I indicated that I did not want a room with a single bed and the manager was called who found me a smoking king room which I agreed. Upon taking the r... Read more

We stayed for 2 nights and would have liked to stay longer. Comfortable rooms and hotel is conveniently located on the edge of the CBD with magnificent river views available. Check in procedure was efficient and informative with staff taking the time to explain any room upgrade options available plus the advantages of joining their loyalty club. Very enjoyable buffet breakfast with a huge range of options available.

The hotel was booked on my behalf by the people I was visiting and I arrived with some trepidation having read some of the visitor reviews which referred to noise etc. from renovations which are taking place. My fears where unfounded and it did not impact on me at all. The temporary breakfast area works very well and the breakfast itself was very good. The rooftop bar was a nice place to relax. The hotel itself is fine, nothing special. It is under renovations, and while there was indeed a small notice on the reservation confirmation about renovations (which I had to look back and check because it didnt catch my attention beforehand), the degree was probably understated. The room itself was pretty good, and what you would expect at a Renaissance. The service, mostly at check-in, was really bizarre and put a damper on the stay. Lovely hotel - needs updating but great location to explore, staff very friendly and helpful and has a great breakfast - only stayed one night before meeting our group before traveling up the Mekong, we did pay extra to upgrade to sunset view, but a waste of time as no balcony and big billboards obstructing the view of local beer, so don't bother, with we had saved the money.

I had not been back to Vietnam since leaving as a soldier in 1968. My son had been teaching English in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) for eight months so it was an emotion trip for many reasons.
