This hotel situated in the backpacker's area, Pham Bgu lao/Bui Vien. It is easy to find food and night drinking spots for tourist. Location is good, not too far away from their famous market, Benh Thanh Market. However, the lobby is small and, security sense is not too good. Room is fine, especially the biggest executive room. Cheap and comfortable.

We stayed at the dragon palace for two nights and was pretty happy with what we got for the amount we paid. The rooms and the bathroom are clean and spacious offering ac and hot water. The staff speak English and are quite helpful . The elevator runs only up to the 8th floor and from there you need to climb two flights of stairs if your room is located on the 9th or 10th floor which can be a little inconvenient. Definitely recommend this place to someone whose looking for a good place to stay at... Read more

Spent 4 nights in a suite at the Dragon Palace Hotel. Very clean, great location in the backpacker district (plenty of places to eat and drink around there), nice breakfast and house keeping keeping everything nice and clean. Great value.

My first impression on the hotel is "woah". However when I started to explore in the hotel the "woah" effects become diminishing. (1) Water from toilet is so slow. I can't have a decent bath at all and with the hot weather in Ho Chi Minh it's really annoyed me. (2) No additional access card was given, me and my friend have to share the card which means where ever my friend go I have to follow and this is sucks. Nevertheless, the above cons and be off set by the pros below:- (1) Breakfast is co... Read more

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Dragon Palace. The staff in reception were very friendly, our Executive room was a good size with a lovely large double bed. The breakfast was quite varied and served in the dining room at the top of the building - great views over the rooftops. There is a massage outfit on the first floor and we enjoyed a couple of massages at reasonable cost. (There were people smoking in the waiting area). We had a bit of trouble with the safe but the hotel staff were q... Read more

We booked a double room with a large bed for my boyfriend and I. Upon arrival, we were taken to a tiny room with two small beds pushed together. When we approached the reception, we could not believe how RUDE they were! Their initial response was "we do this all the time. It's no big deal". Afterwards, they simply told us that if we are not pleased with the room we can move to a different hotel Since they will charge us for one night anyways.

The hotel is genuine for its rating - but if your a light sleeper the noise will drive you insane at night. If your there to party and think you will come home drunk and pass out - you should be fine ! The location is absolutely perfect for you! It's close to pretty much everything bar wise - and shopping wise is 10 min walk. But if your travelling and exploring and need a place to rest at the end of the long days - this is not ur hotel - go somewhere else. The bar/restaurant across from th... Read more

Booked a room with a window unfortunately it only opened onto the halfway. The shower was broken . the air conditioning was poor & very noisy. And worst of all my room was below the restaurant & they started preparing breakfast at 5 am.

We stayed 3 nights at Dragon Palace hotel. The reception staff were brilliant. The were well informed and friendly and happy to recommend places to eat, visit and how to get there. Rooms were comfortable with good air con & cleaned daily with fresh towels and free water. The location is great - right by the backpackers district and in the centre of pretty much everything. A great base for wandering around the city on foot. It was slightly noisy at night but I think that was due to the position... Read more

Rooms are ok, staff is friendly but soundproofing is not a concept the owners of the hotel did invest in. You hear EVERY small sound of the noisy street. The city's public services start working at 5AM. One morning we had a concrete mixer waiking us up, the other one some workers hitting a pipe for hours... We asked the reception to intervene but all they said is the classic "sorry sir". The receptionist found it quite normal not to inform us the night before that construction work will start u... Overall, our stay here was alright. The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly, however the other guests were incredibly noisy. We had other people mistakenly knocking on our door 3 separate times looking for their friends/family, and they would be yelling in the hallway at 2 AM. The shower/tub leaked as well, so that was unpleasant. The breakfast is alright. The hotel has a nice location though, very central. If you are a heavy sleeper and don't mind wet floors, it works.

I stayed 5 nights. The Dragon Palace 1 is lovely. Very good value for money. The staff are very helpful and accommodating with my demands. The room was very comfortable and well appointed. The hotel is conveniently located to use as a stop point after doing day tours. I will use again.

Central location,10 mints to Bin thanh market, Clean rooms in good size with kettle, tea & coffee. Had a great time, stay 2 nights with family, Good AC, pressured hot & cold water with a bath tub. Good breakfast and good laundry services. Many clubs, local and Indian food restaurants are nearby including the exchange and Sinh tourist cafe for tours although they have their travel desk as well. It's common for 2-3 star hotels in south east asia and many other parts of the world that many times they don't treat their guests well, and they act unprofessional at all. I stayed here with no expectation, and checked out with happiness. * The hotel is just a small one with 10 floor. Each floor there are only few rooms, and you don't get any view at all unless you stay in suite room (front of the building) (one for each floor). * Check in was quick. Lady in front desk speaks English well a... Read more

We stayed here a few days with my kids and it was pretty basic. The breakfast was poor with not much variety especially for kids. It is really central so perfect to rest. It was clean but we had a broken toilet. Perfect for backpackers.

Arrived late at 9pm after 18 hours of travel. The reception staff were excellent, English was good and book in was fast and efficient. Our room, on 5th floor, was nice with a comfortable bed (soft compared to the average Asian hotel). The location was perfect; right in district one and close to everything. Walking distance to food (Asian to western), shopping (markets to shopping centres). The staff were always attentive and helpful. Breakfast, buffet style, was filling and tasty. Best to ask ... The hotel is located in Pham Ngu Lao and close to everything, walking distance to Ben Thanh market, Saigon Square and food (Asian to western). The staff were always attentive, helpful and the room was cleaned everyday. Breakfast, buffet style, was filling and tasty. Dragon Palace Hotel, is a great find for those who don't want to pay over the top prices to stay in Saigon, but still want clean, comfortable lodgings. I stayed in the Executive suite on the 9th floor which was only a few dollars more than the standard room. It was very spacious and well equipped. Traffic noise did not bother me, but it may annoy light sleepers. Breakfast was included on the roof garden restaurant, although I missed out due to an early flight, however, the more than accommodatin... Read more

This hotel is sruffy and I would advise you to choose another. We arrived to find the tour desk in the lobby littered with beer cans and the staff having a drinking session. The corridor had bags of recycling and rubbish piled up. The room (suite 2) was ok so we left our bags and went out for a meal. On our return we turned on the light and a RAT ran across the room and under the bed??We immediatly left. We went to Dragon Palace 3 as the receptionist assured us it was better. It wasn't great b... There are 3 Dragon Palace hotels. We stayed in the one at 173 Pham Ngu Lao. After checking in we were shown to our room 303. It is a good size for a couple staying for a few days. The room was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed and more. The reception staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast is served on the roof terrace and was of a good standard with a lot of choice. Having read some of the previous reviews, I'm not sure that they are of the same hotel. The hotel is located in one of the main entertainment areas of Ho Chi Minh City. While the lobby does not look very exciting, the spacious rooms are very clean and well lit, have laminated floors and solid wooden modern and good quality furniture. There is free WIFI. The bathrooms are bright, new and clean, but the towels could be newer/better. Annoying fact is that the shower curtains are half a meter too long! A very well prepared breakfast buffet is served free on the 10th floor in a nice res... Read more

Where to start? At one point we were sitting in the lobby, waiting for our tour pick up and the boy was on Facebook watching real excecution movies on a big computerscreen. We saw about ten men get shot in the head. When we told him how inapropriate this is he just laughed at us with his collegues. Furthermore the staff is uninterested and usually busy with their phones. Unwilling to help. Price and quality of the rooms and breakfast don't meet. Would'nt recommend this hotel to anyone. Although surrounding environment is not ideal situated at the backpackers area with lots of shops and pubs nearby, the hotel is centrally located with public transport access and not far from airport. The room area is average but not noisy, facilities and furnishing are modern design, presented to be new and clean. Buffet breakfast is tasty with a variety of choices in Vietnamese and western styles, and sitting at the pleasant top floor with street view. Good value overall.

As there are three Dragon Palace Hotels, be careful which one you book. We arrived by bus and walked to the hotel from the bus terminal. It is also an easy walk (apart from the HCMC traffic, which is NUTS) in the opposite direction to the markets, which are fantastic for shopping. The hotel has a side entrance off a lane with some great places to eat. We paid a bit extra for an executive suite, which was large, extremely comfortable, clean and modern. Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights in a family room. The room I got was in the 9th floor and towards the back of the hotel. The hotel has 10 floors, the elevator only goes up to the 8th floor. However, it isn't difficult to climb the stairs at all, so didn't mind it. The elevator drops you off straight onto the street, so no need to go through the lobby every time. Great location. Reception staff were friendly and tried hard but were very undertrained in service. Room was tiny with no external window. However there was a window from our room to the corridor outside our door. This allowed a lot of noise. And we were often woken around 5am to the noise of staff banging doors and talking loudly.
