This place is ok Pros: location, tv (loads of English channels) aircon breakfast. Cons: not that clean, staff a bit rude sometimes. Rooster woke us up every day at 5am. I wouldn't say this has a big enough window to advertise room with window. I think you could find nicer places for same amount of $

Blue River Hotel was a great place to stay, going over with 22 others on a school trip, the staff was very helpful and always had a smile on there face. The rooms where cleaned daily and where always clean. The rooms felt stylish and the tv also had many English channels. A special mention to Mr Lee, he was always willing to help and just a lad on the whole.

This place was quite good. Location is excellent, but can be tricky to find as its down an alleyway. Loads of bars and food are within 10 minute walk in any direction really. Rooms are basic but comfortable.

My husband and I just finished our stay at Blue river. We had a bad experience staying here. In our first room the WiFi did not work, and the ac would not cool below 30°C. When we asked to change rooms the owner tried to brush us off by saying they will look at it later, but we eventually were able to get a new room. Our second room was across the street in the renovated rooms. We were told we could stay here for the night, but would have to switch rooms in the morning. This room was infested ... Read more

We booked a room for one night but ended up staying for three. Very nice and helpful staff, clean rooms and free breakfast. The hotel had a very good location. The only downside was that the wifi did not work most of the times, but there are worse things in life :)

Our second time to Saigon and we decided to stay at the backpackers end of town. This was a great little hotel tucked down a side street. Was a great price and in a great location. The best part was Thuoy the Manager/Concierge/Travel agent. She helped us with info, planning and tickets, a hidden asset to the hotel

Very convenient, located within backpacker's area. The hotel is near the bus drop off point. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and neat. We were booked on the 3rd floor, unfortunately there is no elevator. But overall, comfortable location and excellent service!

While this hotel would probably be acceptable, until they can control their large roach infestation problem, it is completely uninhabitable as a hotel to me and I have lived in roach prone areas of the tropics so I'm no prima donna. Upon being shown into my room last night by the very kind owner(?) and his wife there was a huge roach waiting for us in front of the TV. After I pointed out the problem the owner killed the roach but then it's mate came scurrying out from under the teacups. I ki... Read more

We have been to better hotels in Saigon with better amenities and lower price. The room we got had a dead cockroach lying on the floor. We stayed only for one night so nothing really mattered. Check in and check out was fast and we were allowed to leave our luggages after.

If you're looking for a good, clean and cheap Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City the Blue River Hotel is a very good adress. The Hotel is located in a quiet by-road where are you in a few minutes at the center of the city. There are a few travel agencys and other little shops close to the hotel. The rooms are clean and include everything you need. There is free Wifi with a good connection. For breakfast you can order a few meals. The staff is really helpful and always really friendly.

As I traveled through Asia this was just one of the "alright" hotels. We arrived in the afternoon and checked in without any problems. The room was fairly barebones with a bathroom area that basically wasn't separated from the rest of the room. The breakfast is pretty minimalist but well made. A selection of pancakes, bacon and other breakfasty things. The hotel itself is located down a back alley off of a main road so if you're not used to randomly walking down shady alleys then at first ... Read more

The location is convenient to access to most of the attractive places such as Ben Thanh Market etc; also, it is easy to get food and beverage here. However, it may be a little challenging to find the building because it is located along a inner lane parallel to Pham Ngu Lao street. The staffs are kind and helpful. The room is clear and comfortable. Breakfast here was simple but nice. You may ask for a second serving if you find that the first one is not enough to motivate you. The bread se... Read more

The nice staff didn't compensate for the poor service! We got there and we were given a room in another hotel because the one we had booked with blue river was not free in the end. The place we stayed in opposite blue river was really bad. Room was tiny and really basic. Not worth the 21$ blue river made us pay for even applying a 4$ discount. Don't trust it.

The hotel is in a great location close to Ben market and the bus station. The staff was overall helpful and friendly and she spoke english. Not well but understandable. Our room was 58 dollars with two double beds, fast wifi, ac, and etc. And not one sighting of a bug. The free breakfast in the morning was good and if you weren't in to it, the abc bakery is minutes away. Overall a good and affordable hotel to share with friends.

? Location - Blue River is located in Pham Ngu Lao or the ??Backpacker?? Street. It is in an alley, like a compound type with a lot of hotels. Your best landmark is the Burger King. If you??re facing Burger King it is on your right. The alley will clearly state 283 Pham Ngu Lao on the sign above the entrance. Once you enter the alley, you turn right on the end, it??s not very hard to find. From the Main Road to the hotel should just be 1-2 minutes of walk. - From the airport, we got an Ube... Read more

In the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh, Blue River was a nice calm little oasis. Very clean and well maintained, the staff were friendly and the hotel itself reasonably cheap with breakfast included. Beds were nice and soft, perfect back packers stop off point. My only qualm was with the pest problem we had due to the rainy season. This wasn't really the hotels fault, and as soon as we informed them, they were incredibly apologetic and had our room cleaned and sprayed. This is the reason for ... Read more

So first of all, very nice receptionist who I must admit I gave a hard time to out of stress from a long journey. She handled it well, so plaudits to her, she's very nice and did a great job considering. We checked in on 27th as a couple around 8am.. My problems are as follows (and I know not all customers would get this experience but hey!) 1. We were asked for our passports which I flat out refused and I still don't understand the need for you to hold it, unless as a substitute for not givin... Read more

We got the room with a very modern Interieur. Our stay was pleasant, the breakfast is okay but not stunning. Very helpful statt. We booked a Mekong Tour which was possible in a very short time. We recommend the Hotel, its location is in a quiet Street but near to the City center and night market.

We had a one night stay here last night and it served all purposes for this. Clean bedroom and bathroom and we were happy with the service. The lovely lady at reception upgraded us for free. The breakfast you can order of a menu instead of buffet which I appreciated. Worth the cheap price and recommend this place. It is in close proximity of Benh thank market and the backpacker area which has plenty to offer (bars, shops, restaurants).

'Twas Friday night. There were five of us who checked into the hotel, welcomed by a very friendly and accommodating receptionist, Harry. We were offered refreshing cold drinks that quenched our thirst. We just didn't understand why he had to keep our passports when we already offered to give the full payment for the stay. He finally returned our passport after hearing that we are going to check out some skybars and chill out, and that we may be asked with our passports considering that we are to... Read more

We have stayed at the Blue River in Ho Chi Minh City numerous times - it's our go to home away from home in HCMC. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the location is excellent, and the staff and management are friendly, helpful, efficient, and welcoming. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are spotless with excellent showers. It's very convenient to have a phone in the room. We always enjoy the delicious breakfast served on the nicely decorated mezzanine over-looking the reception area.... Read more

Blue River Hotel is situated in the backpacker area in District 1. You have to go inside an alley where there are other budget hotels. It is on a one-way street. From Ben Than Market, it is on the left side just a few steps from Burger King you will find an entry to an alley with a signboard with the list of names of hotels/hostels. There are a lot of dining options around. There is a wet market nearby and a some convenience stores. There were no elevators. We booked with another site and we ... Read more

We arrived late night at the Ho-Chi-Minh-City Airport and the available pick-up worked out perfectly. The hotel is located close to the major attractions and many food places are nearby. Our room faced the street and had a window which is definitely recommended. Air con worked just fine. The room was simple but fine, the furniture a little outdated but still does the job. It's a nice hotel that exist out of three buildings. We slepped in the building above "laundry funny". Whe received a free update to a new room. Staff: The Staff is ok, but can't remember you or in what room you sleep. Explanation of things to do in Saigon are good. Room: The room was New (for Vietnamese standards). My husband and I stayed three nights with Blue River Hotel/Phan Lan. We realized that Blue River also works with Phan Lan, next door, for rooms. We were comfortable, and cool with the AC. Amber helped us with our tours/taxi/flights. Everyone was very hospitable and spoke English very well. They even allowed us to temporarily store our luggage there before our flight, even though we weren't staying the night. Thank you!
