You get what you pay for. Breakfast is not very nice, so much so that we didn't go most days. Our room was very noisy but clean. The shower was temperamental, would go hot then cold without adjusting and the flow was the same. Towels were of a poor quality and toiletries provided were based on one person not the five we had, when we asked for extras it created confusion for the staff. However overall for the price paid it is still value for money. Our airport transfers were organised through the... Read more

We stayed in the family suite, our beds were not correct on arrival and when we asked for another bed we were told it was too late to organise so five of us slept on two beds. Our room was noisy but did have a balcony so was good to watch the street during the day. The shower was temperamental going hot or cold and the flow inconsistent. We had toiletries provided for one person for the five of us and it caused confusion when we asked for more so we just went and bought some ourselves. The towel... Read more

We stayed at the city palace 5 nights. It is in the beautiful old city. They gave us a free upgrade to a room with a verandah overlooking the street which made us feel like we were living the real city life. Very close to yummy cheap restaurants and street food. The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke good English.

Although there was an issue and a room was not available for one guest on arrival arrangements were made for a hotel close by for an overnight stay with transfers back to the Hotel for breakfast. The hotel was very apologetic and apology accepted without further problems. Rooms were very clean, quite large and comfortable. Breakfast staff served very quickly with juice, cereals, main breakfast meal and tea or coffee all being placed on the table at the same time.

Very obliging staff gave us a warm welcome. We arrived very early and they found a clean, comfortable,ready-to-occupy room in a sister establishment 100m away; and trabsported our baggage. Subsequent nights we returned to the Hanoi City Palace and the high quality service continued. Room was comfortable, spacious and well-equipped. A simple Western breakfast was provided in the Dining Room The HCP doesn't offer glitz but for a middle-income Australian couple like us it was all we could have hop... Read more
