Rooms are very old, and the price was way too expensive for a dumpy room. Location was good, was in old building not on same lot as office, so rooms very outdated and old....shower leaked, TV very old, bedding needs to be tossed

Just dropped in off the road. Price was very good for the area. A few blocks from the square made it perfect for a look-see around. I would recommend this as a perfect no frills git er done place to stay.

We were looking for an inexpensive place with an old-timey feel and this fit the bill! We stayed in the El Rancho building. We liked being able to park in front of our room and it was the one story building so no one walking over our heads. The room was small but clean and we loved the shower! Good pressure! Loved the lavender/peppermint toiletries! Close to the square. It was a place I could imagine my grandparents coming to when they were young and it added to our vacation experience!

Room was dated, albeit very clean. The staff was knowledgable and accommodating. Location was excellent, walking distance from everything around Jackson Square. One negative to report, the mini-fridge was positioned right next to the bed and was loud (no problem to unplug it, if you don't need it-alas,I needed it). Overall stay was enjoyable for 3 nights.

The location is fantastic. My room was very small and basic but suited my needs for a two-night stay. The room needed repairs (thermostat didn't work, torn window screen) but had clean sheets and towels. The price was a bargain relative to the hyper-inflated rates other hotels in Jackson are charging.

The location of the motel was great, it was walking distance to everything. My concerns with my room was in the shower there is a black substance and to me it looked like mold and also my front door to the outside did not seal properly and there were large ants coming through the door. I tried to block it with a towel. I guess you get what you pay for since it was cheap for the area.

The one bed had dirty sheets that we had to change. The bathroom window did not have a screen so we couldn't leave it open due to bugs. The room did not have an air conditioner so the window had to be opened all night and we were at the top of the stairs so we were always on display and heard everyone on the upper floor. The outside light shined directly into the room. Plenty of towels. NThe hotel is old and needs to be updated, this givesd tghed impression thast it is dirty.

The mattress was excellent, but that is the only thing in the bedroom that came out of this century. I had the same exact ceiling fan in my house in 1982. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with being practical and there was nothing really wrong with the room, but do not compare it to other hotels you might have stayed at. I booked this hotel through Travelocity. I had not visited the area before and wasn't sure how available hotel rooms would be the week that we traveled. Thankfully, I booked only one night. As I suspected, there were other, nicer more up-to-date hotels with better amenities for Less money just down the road. I paid more for this room than any other in my week long trip.

While close to everything and cheaper than other motels in the same area, you do get what you pay for. Parking was very tight, lot not well laid out. Room was small and in need of updating. Office opened late on day of check out so had to wait to leave. Coffee was not ready, so continental breakfast was not really available before we had to leave.

My brother and I needed a place to stay while touring Yellowstone and the surrounding Tetons. Got the "economy" 2 queen room for $185 a night, which equates to $205 a night out the door. Musty room and adequate beds and showers. Its pretty shameful to charge so much for an obvious 1 star, but I found the whole town to be similarly overprices. Not coming back to Jackson any time soon. Bad value!

An excellent location within easy walking distance to the interesting downtown area with food, shops, galleries, etc. Staff is pleasant and helpful. This hotel is well located, on the main street of town and easy walking distance to lots of great places to eat, drink and shop. We stayed in the rooms at the back so it was quiet with no road noise. The rooms are reasonably sized, clean but quite dated (especially the bathroom). We were here the end of June 2016 and the price for this type of housing was outrageous for conditions. Even so, the location is great for activities in town, walking, and shopping. This motel is very expensive for what you get. We paid almost $500 for 2 nights. At first, we were shown to an incredibly dismal room: dark, window didn't open, shade broken, no air or fridge or microwave, ...... When we told the desk person that we needed air, he gave us another room which means that the room was available from the start.

The decor was dated but the room had everything you'd need for crashing after a day at a National Park or two. There are two buildings, the main Anvil Motel building and a separate motel building behind it, where we stayed for over $250+/night in late July 2016. It is old so floors creak and can hear outside noises. Very basic. No seating in lobby, no counter top in bath. Coffee weak, but a lower price than others in the area, so a trade-off. Room was clean and in a great location downtown.

Room was OK for the price. Location was wonderful! Parking is Horrible! There are only spaces for about 8 cars, and you won't get out until everyone else is gone! Also, there is no laundry facility at this property. Rooms were clean and adequate.

Good location. Good value for location . Scenic area. Could have had better breakfast. Need more parking. Lights above one bed did not work. No hot shower but quickly fixed. Nice bedding. Freshly painted.

Simple clean & quiet hotel at the end of town that is close to al amenities. Had a minor issue with the iron and it was looked after promptly. Fresh fruit, yogurt, muffins, granola bars & coffee each morning to start the day.

We stayed in an El Ranchero room which was tucked in a quiet side street behind the main Anvil Motel. Our room was a little dated, but comfortable with all mod cons. Breakfast of muffins, yogurt, fruit and cereal bars was included at the Anvil, as well as tea and coffee anytime. Good value for Jackson.

Good location for walking and taking in the sites. A short drive to Tetons Village. Great Galeries, the Snake River. The hotel has two different buildings. Try to book a room in the building attached to the lobby.

While the Anvil is not luxurious, it is clean, comfortable, and extremely handy for the local attractions in Jackson. The staff was extremely friendly and helped with several personal matters. We truly enjoyed our stay.

This motel was the most expensive of our trip, and the worst. The bed was comfortable, but that was ruined by the pillows. The tiny bath had a tiny shower. I felt that it was not very clean, and the towels were very thin. The breakfast was ok if there had been anywhere to sit down. (One table). They had yogurt, granola bars, juice, apples and muffins. The coffee was good. The people were unhelpful and close to rude.

I booked 2 rooms through Agoda.com for three nights. when I reached the motel they did not have 2 rooms, only one room. They asked me never to book rooms from Agoda.com Finally they gave me only one room for the night. Most horrible motel. Very bad parking facility. Could not take out my car in the morning as there were so many cars parked VERY close to mine.

This is not a great place and definitely not worth the money we paid. The front desk staff was not knowledgeable, not at all courteous But the hotel is situated in a great location in the city. all the shopping are within walking distance

It was expensive, but it was cute and the location is probably what made it so expensive. the location was great very close to town square and good restaurants, the bunnery was great. the shopping was all over.

Dated buildings but made up for in service and amenities. Comfortable bed, quiet in annex, amiable front desk, and charming attached restaurant. Leave your car and stroll the shops. Skip the morning meager fare and Go across the street for the best breakfast at the Bunnery

Rude behavior from desk clerk, difficult parking, no maid service, had to lug suitcases up three flights of stairs ( no assistance from anyone) cramped room. The only good thing about the Anvil is its location. Would NEVER stay here again.

Great Location! Clean rooms. My Travel Agent recommended the hotel. I really liked that I could walk to the main area of town. It was a last minute quick trip and the prices was just right. I will stay with you again.

This Hotel has 1 redeeming quality- it is within 2 minutes of the square at Jackson. The rooms are in desperate need of upgrading! The bed was so old & lumpy it was impossible to sleep. 2 electrical outlets & only 1 was working. Its a shame that such a great location has such a Bad Hotel.

We enjoyed our stay there! Nothing fancy, but clean, warm and friendly. We were very close to the town area and the trailhead for our biking trip. The mini breakfast was a great thing to grab and go if you have a busy day of biking or skiing.

We had an unplanned stay at Jackson Hole upon our return from Yellowstone. The motel is fairly clean and has basic amenities, great location, and accessibility. However, like everything else in Jackson, the price doesn't match the value. We paid almost as much as we would pay a good room in Vegas.

I chose this motel believing that there would be a free breakfast and that I would feel safe in my room. However, I found out that there was no breakfast even though the website said there was. The first night we stayed here someone got a key to our room and walked in! When I went to complain to the front desk, the clerk there said it was our fault that it happened because we were supposed to stay in another room when he was the one who couldn't find the keys to our room and gave us the keys to ... I love the location right at the square, but the room really needs a makeover. I had bed bug bites which is a nightmare. The shower was really small and the carpet was old. We stayed on ground floor and upstairs guests were walking really loudly in the middle of the night. The door was not securely locked and had nails sticking out on the doorframe.
