Rooms are very old, and the price was way too expensive for a dumpy room. Location was good, was in old building not on same lot as office, so rooms very outdated and old....shower leaked, TV very old, bedding needs to be tossed

Just dropped in off the road. Price was very good for the area. A few blocks from the square made it perfect for a look-see around. I would recommend this as a perfect no frills git er done place to stay.

We were looking for an inexpensive place with an old-timey feel and this fit the bill! We stayed in the El Rancho building. We liked being able to park in front of our room and it was the one story building so no one walking over our heads. The room was small but clean and we loved the shower! Good pressure! Loved the lavender/peppermint toiletries! Close to the square. It was a place I could imagine my grandparents coming to when they were young and it added to our vacation experience!

Room was dated, albeit very clean. The staff was knowledgable and accommodating. Location was excellent, walking distance from everything around Jackson Square. One negative to report, the mini-fridge was positioned right next to the bed and was loud (no problem to unplug it, if you don't need it-alas,I needed it). Overall stay was enjoyable for 3 nights.

Jackson is such a nice place and Anvil make the experience more impressive. Room is quiet clean and nice, the bed is very comfortable, and we like the decoration of the office very much. Breakfast is fine, muffins and apples are quite good. We will be happy to come again.

The hotel is very old and dated and is in need for a remodel. The pillow top beds were very comfortable. The location of the hotel is about the only thing that makes it worth the stay. Parking is limited.

Somehow there was a mix up and we were put in a 1 bed when we needed 2, so management placed us in a 2 bed for the 1 bed price. Very comfy! Good price considering it's Jackson. Great location right by downtown. Nice and quiet too.

The room are clean. Only 25 min from the grand Teton and then 25 more min from Yellowstone. The location of the hotel is the great Jackson Hole with a lot of store to shopping. Also close to the hotel there are very good restaurant.

The location is fantastic. My room was very small and basic but suited my needs for a two-night stay. The room needed repairs (thermostat didn't work, torn window screen) but had clean sheets and towels. The price was a bargain relative to the hyper-inflated rates other hotels in Jackson are charging.

The rooms were nice and clean but expensive, even though it was just about the cheapest place in town. The breakfast stuff was all pre-packaged junk, but good coffee. I would definitely stay here again though and bring my own food.

The location of the motel was great, it was walking distance to everything. My concerns with my room was in the shower there is a black substance and to me it looked like mold and also my front door to the outside did not seal properly and there were large ants coming through the door. I tried to block it with a towel. I guess you get what you pay for since it was cheap for the area.

The one bed had dirty sheets that we had to change. The bathroom window did not have a screen so we couldn't leave it open due to bugs. The room did not have an air conditioner so the window had to be opened all night and we were at the top of the stairs so we were always on display and heard everyone on the upper floor. The outside light shined directly into the room. Plenty of towels. NThe hotel is old and needs to be updated, this givesd tghed impression thast it is dirty.

All outlets need replaced! If you insert any plug it arcs and falls out. Also half of the outlets in the room are not grounded. We were afraid to use the in room coffee maker or even charge our phones due to a potential fire hazard.

The mattress was excellent, but that is the only thing in the bedroom that came out of this century. I had the same exact ceiling fan in my house in 1982. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with being practical and there was nothing really wrong with the room, but do not compare it to other hotels you might have stayed at. Are you really staying at Jackson Hole for the room decor anyway? There is no huge lobby to lounge in, no pool, etc. but they did have some excellent muffins and c... Read more

I booked this hotel through Travelocity. I had not visited the area before and wasn't sure how available hotel rooms would be the week that we traveled. Thankfully, I booked only one night. As I suspected, there were other, nicer more up-to-date hotels with better amenities for Less money just down the road. I paid more for this room than any other in my week long trip.

While close to everything and cheaper than other motels in the same area, you do get what you pay for. Parking was very tight, lot not well laid out. Room was small and in need of updating. Office opened late on day of check out so had to wait to leave. Coffee was not ready, so continental breakfast was not really available before we had to leave.

My brother and I needed a place to stay while touring Yellowstone and the surrounding Tetons. Got the "economy" 2 queen room for $185 a night, which equates to $205 a night out the door. Musty room and adequate beds and showers. Its pretty shameful to charge so much for an obvious 1 star, but I found the whole town to be similarly overprices. Not coming back to Jackson any time soon. Bad value!

An excellent location within easy walking distance to the interesting downtown area with food, shops, galleries, etc. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Teh back building is older and has no air conditioning; with days in the upper 80's. the room gets very warm. It cools dramatically in the evening. I would stay at Anvil again, but only in the front building.

We made a reservation on trip advisor several weeks before for this hotel and received several confirmation emails. I was surprised when our reservation wasn't in the system, and even more surprised when the guy at the front desk hung up the phone several times on the trip advisor customers service rep who called him to discuss the issue! This hotel is well located, on the main street of town and easy walking distance to lots of great places to eat, drink and shop. We stayed in the rooms at the back so it was quiet with no road noise. The rooms are reasonably sized, clean but quite dated (especially the bathroom). It is expensive to stay here considering how dated the establishment is, but its comparable and reasonable for the location.

We were here the end of June 2016 and the price for this type of housing was outrageous for conditions. Even so, the location is great for activities in town, walking, and shopping. The room was so dated and tiny but everything was so booked in Jackson we took what we could get. Stay here if you want to be close to activities etc. but only if you can't get a reservation somewhere else nearby.

This motel is very expensive for what you get. We paid almost $500 for 2 nights. At first, we were shown to an incredibly dismal room: dark, window didn't open, shade broken, no air or fridge or microwave, ...... When we told the desk person that we needed air, he gave us another room which means that the room was available from the start.

Do not let them put you in the cowboy bunkhouse outback. The ad is deceiving in this regard. No AC and run down. The front rooms in the main building are nice. We moved the second night and had a good rest. Conveniently located to all shops, walking.

The decor was dated but the room had everything you'd need for crashing after a day at a National Park or two. The bed was comfy and the bath soaps were nicer than the standard motel soap, which I appreciated. They also have a nice little deck out front, and you get a free glass of wine from a nearby restaurant during dinner. Overall it was better than expected!

The room was clean, but the decor was very outdated. We stayed during a hot spell in Jackson, so we tried to explore the unlabelled knobs on the wall to see if they would initiate a fan or A/C of any type. Unfortunately at 3am, we awoke to a horribly hot room and after fiddling with the knobs again realized that we had had the heat running all night. Jackson is NOT a cheap place. The Anvil was the cheapest place we could find last minute, and while still pricey, the room was clean, quiet, the shower was hot and the location cannot be beat. You'll be right downtown in the middle of everything. The room is tiny, but we were only there for sleeping. Free parking. Can't vouch for the breakfast, because there are SO many great breakfast spots a block or two away. If you're looking for a budget spot in Jackson, this motel will do the trick.

This motel has one thing going for it, its central location in the town of Jackson. There are two buildings, the main Anvil Motel building and a separate motel building behind it, where we stayed for over $250+/night in late July 2016.
