I get it - it's mid-May and the downtown Milwaukee Hampton Inn is an old building heated by radiators and the boilers were shut down during last week's 70 degree heat wave. Unfortunately, Mother Nature missed the memo and this week was cold as ice, and the rooms no longer had heat! Every morning we woke up to a 66 degree room. I complained three times and they sent maintenance twice, the last who explained the problem and that the heat was off. A/C season had begun with a cold blast of air from... Read more

this hotel is a standard nice Hampton, the location is great, however at 300 USD per night it was definitely too expensive and I wasn't 100% satisfied from a service aspect, (not picking up the phone at front desk, waiting to be let in from the parking garage)

The Hampton was clean, and staff was efficient, kind, and customer centered. My complaint was with the overall maintenance of the facilities and the less-than-thoughtful layout. For the money, the value just fell short. They're close to having a real winner. For the money, there are better options downtown. Hope they tighten up there facilities maintenance, and invest in some updates.

Stayed at this property recently during a business trip with one other colleague. We could not have been more pleased with the location of the hotel in a busy but clean area of downtown Milwaukee. Having only visited Milwaukee once before, I was very impressed with the downtown area, the selection of restaurants within easy walking distance, etc... The room was great and extremely comfortable. We visited Milwaukee over Memorial Day weekend to go to a Cards/Brewers game. The Hampton Inn was very centrally located. We walked all over downtown Milwaukee to different bars/restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the Riverwalk. And the bar just at the corner of the block (Mo's Irish Pub) had a shuttle to the ballpark for the game (as do most bars, but Mo's was super handy for those at the Hampton Inn). The hotel was full, yet we received great service and a hot, plentiful breakfast each m... Read more

Pros: friendly front desk staff, nice (free) breakfast, bigger rooms, family friendly. Cons: very hard mattresses, room smelled like marijuana from other guests smoking it down the hall, hotel has been unresponsive to my efforts to determine whether they found an item we left in our room. Linens were clean but room was dusty.

No free parking...cheaper next block down. Must pay for premium Internet. Both USB plugs did not work Refrigerator did not work. Had to take toilet paper off holder it was so close to toilet. Breakfast was horrible. Staff totally uninterested. This is the short list... How can a hotel with the Hilton name be this level of 'service?' Free parking, hot breakfast, toilet paper you can use, great staff, free internet for a third of the price....motel 6 here I come.

****Negatives***....AC would kick in periodically and sound like rain in a rain gutter. Parking fee was sad in itself but also a bit high...$14 each day or $27 for Valet. Ouch! Maintenance guy was working outside our room at 11pm. Pillows had about the same thickness as a towel folded in half. We looked out our window and our view was a brick wall and dumpster. Cost. I like this hotel, it is right in the middle of everything downtown. The room was clean and everything worked like it was supposed to. The staff at the check in were really friendly and even loaned me a phone charger on two separate occasions. Parking is $14.00 per day and the garage is attached. They are friendly, helpful, and beyond the norm to take care of you. The complimentary breakfast is very adequate, eggs, waffles, yogurt, sausages, bacon, toast, etc. And there is coffee available at all times. Big disappointment. Multiple small things put this Hampton Inn below average. Getting in to the hotel from the parking garage was confusing, entrance not well marked. Room furniture was old, comforter stained, shower drain slow, closet door stuck, as did the door to actually get into the room. Poor management is my only guess. I'd keep looking if you are wanting to stay downtown Milwaukee.

Overall, this hotel was fine. There are a lot of things I could nitpick about but none of them were that big of a deal. The only one that was actually annoying was the thermostat. It was clicking and the temperature would not adjust. They sent someone to fix it within 15 minutes. He did fix the clicking BUT had to get in the ceiling to adjust the blower vent valve. Centrally located, easy to get to the venues we wanted to see. But the hotel itself is dingy, and the service was just OK. Our room was clean, but the bathroom wasn't. Towels were thread bare and the toilet was dirty. I had trouble getting sufficient assistance with directions and recommendations from the desk clerk. Plus, I was accosted in the lobby by someone begging for money. There are too many other hotels in the area to settle for a so-so experience. I recommend finding somewhere else to ... Read more

Nothing really extraordinary but they were able to allow to check in super early, VERY much appreciated. Breakfast was average at best. Concierge was very helpful and even brought me to my lunch appointment, due to rain outside.

Wonderful place in downtown Milwaukee. Staff was great and rooms were clean roomy and nice. Continental breakfast was very good. We valeted our vehicle and they were very quick getting our vehicle to us upon checkout.

My husband and I enjoyed a weekend get away to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We came to see a concert at the nearby Riverside Theater. We were wishing walking distance to almost everything that we wanted to do, which was great! We are repeat customers and will be back again the same time next year.

A great location in downtown Milwaukee for walking to shopping, concerts, and the river. When we were there the hot tub was not working - a yellow take was blocking it with staff not knowing when it would be functional or why it was out of service. Staff was friendly otherwise and the valet drive was exceptional.

Kasey and his team do a wonderful job. Room was quiet, clean and convienient to water street, bmo bradley center and the river side. I was traveling for government business and forgot my tax exempt for. Kasey resolved the issue on the spot with no hassles. Well done!

I booked this hotel after having a very positive experience with a Hampton Inn and Suites in New Jersey in early September and that it is within walking distance from the Milwaukee theater. I booked the hotel in late September booking a king bed. Upon arrival, the reservation was initially "lost." Ultimately it was found under a completely wrong spelling of my last name. I was told then that no king bed was available(not so at time of initial reservation)so I was told I would be "upgraded" to ... Read more

The walls were so thin we could hear normal conversations from the room next to us. When the heater would kick in during the night it would sound like someone was pounding on our door and then there would be another loud thud. Definitely woke us up a couple times each night. Hot tub was completely broken and pool was frigid. Staff said their heating pump was busted. I understand that those things happen, but it was a bit disappointing because we paid more here than other places because it had a ... Read more

Service was friendly and helpful. Our room was cramped and had cold and warm zones. The bathroom was tiny and the water pressure was very low. We were out and about a lot, so it wasn't a huge problem for just a few days, but for more than 2 nights I would prefer the Hilton Garden Inn or Pfister.

My family and I attended a pro basketball game and stayed at this hotel. Parking ramp is not the easiest to find and it's a 14 dollar charge to park there. Our room was isolated from the others and we had 2 exit doors nearby that made the hallway breezy and cold. The door to our room was not real secure and we could hear it moving every time someone walked by or the exit doors were opened. Sofa bed very uncomfortable and was not fit to be slept in. Bedroom too small. Had a hard time getting in... Read more

This hotel was wonderful and beautiful. The suite rooms are great. The view of downtown is so nice. I would recommend this to all my family and friends. The price is worth it. I have stayed here before and always come back.

Standard hotel, with double beds. Clean. Nice pillows and comfy bed. The bathrooms are hit or miss on teeny or just regular. Nothing spectacular. Certainly not made for a woman and all her "equipment". TV works but has no guide. That really bugs me to have to to thru EVERY channel. Serious? Room service is good...except for rolls. Don't go there. Hard as rocks. But the hot food is good. Omelets looks and tastes really good. Room service is very nice. The walls are ultra thin (g... Read more
