I get it - it's mid-May and the downtown Milwaukee Hampton Inn is an old building heated by radiators and the boilers were shut down during last week's 70 degree heat wave. Unfortunately, Mother Nature missed the memo and this week was cold as ice, and the rooms no longer had heat! Every morning we woke up to a 66 degree room. I complained three times and they sent maintenance twice, the last who explained the problem and that the heat was off. A/C season had begun with a cold blast of air from... Read more

this hotel is a standard nice Hampton, the location is great, however at 300 USD per night it was definitely too expensive and I wasn't 100% satisfied from a service aspect, (not picking up the phone at front desk, waiting to be let in from the parking garage)

The hotel staff here are really great. The front desk folks are really nice and helpful. The rooms have new mattress which are great. The morning breakfast at the hotel is pretty good. I also liked the size of my room was pretty good.

My wife and I stayed at the Hampton Inn downtown Milwaukee during a recent business trip and found the place to be very clean. The breakfast was good and you are within walking distance to everything.

Great value. Perfect downtown location . You can walk everywhere from this hotel. The staff was always accommodating and friendly. Great place to take your family. Will definitely be coming back to do the things we missed.

Booked three rooms for family trip. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We had bicycles to store and they accommodated us nicely. Facility was clean, breakfast was good, pool is a little small. Great location for walking around downtown & access to cycling trails.

The Hampton was clean, and staff was efficient, kind, and customer centered. My complaint was with the overall maintenance of the facilities and the less-than-thoughtful layout. For the money, the value just fell short. They're close to having a real winner. For the money, there are better options downtown. Hope they tighten up there facilities maintenance, and invest in some updates.

Stayed at this property recently during a business trip with one other colleague. We could not have been more pleased with the location of the hotel in a busy but clean area of downtown Milwaukee. Having only visited Milwaukee once before, I was very impressed with the downtown area, the selection of restaurants within easy walking distance, etc... The room was great and extremely comfortable. Cell phone service was very limited from inside the room, but I guess that would be expected in a b... Read more

We visited Milwaukee over Memorial Day weekend to go to a Cards/Brewers game. The Hampton Inn was very centrally located. We walked all over downtown Milwaukee to different bars/restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the Riverwalk. And the bar just at the corner of the block (Mo's Irish Pub) had a shuttle to the ballpark for the game (as do most bars, but Mo's was super handy for those at the Hampton Inn). The hotel was full, yet we received great service and a hot, plentiful breakfast each m... Read more

Pros: friendly front desk staff, nice (free) breakfast, bigger rooms, family friendly. Cons: very hard mattresses, room smelled like marijuana from other guests smoking it down the hall, hotel has been unresponsive to my efforts to determine whether they found an item we left in our room. Linens were clean but room was dusty.

No free parking...cheaper next block down. Must pay for premium Internet. Both USB plugs did not work Refrigerator did not work. Had to take toilet paper off holder it was so close to toilet. Breakfast was horrible. Staff totally uninterested. This is the short list... How can a hotel with the Hilton name be this level of 'service?' Free parking, hot breakfast, toilet paper you can use, great staff, free internet for a third of the price....motel 6 here I come.

I was treated very well. The employees were very nice and helpful. My room was very clean. Complimentary wi-fi was easy to connect to. Covered parking was reasonable and Hotel was close to downtown and to the Wisconsin Center. Breakfast was good. Coffee was great. It was a very good stay.

****Negatives***....AC would kick in periodically and sound like rain in a rain gutter. Parking fee was sad in itself but also a bit high...$14 each day or $27 for Valet. Ouch! Maintenance guy was working outside our room at 11pm. Pillows had about the same thickness as a towel folded in half. We looked out our window and our view was a brick wall and dumpster. Cost. You are definitely paying for location. Not for quality ***positives*** TV worked. Room had a bed in it. Nice employees. ... Read more

I like this hotel, it is right in the middle of everything downtown. The room was clean and everything worked like it was supposed to. The staff at the check in were really friendly and even loaned me a phone charger on two separate occasions. Parking is $14.00 per day and the garage is attached. The breakfast was good and there was a gentleman attending it that worked like a dog all morning long. I will stay her my next trip.

I'm on day two of a three night stay. Issues I've had: Trouble logging on to free internet Refrigerator not working and had to be replaced AC vent noises and loud clicking noise all night Today the room was 58 degrees and wouldn't warm up Little things: no bag for ice, no replacement cups, garbage left in bathroom, I asked for a street view room and got a wall At this point one would expect to be offered a different room at the very least, but nothing. I will say that the staff is very frien... Read more

This place is great! The accommodations are clean and very comfortable. The best thing about it is the people who work there! They are beyond accommodating. They are friendly, helpful, and beyond the norm to take care of you. The complimentary breakfast is very adequate, eggs, waffles, yogurt, sausages, bacon, toast, etc. And there is coffee available at all times. Good location near the riverwalk and restaurants and stores. You can get a taxi in minutes. I highly recommend!

The room was small and the floor needed vacuumed but the bathroom and bed seemed clean. The breakfast was pretty good and the staff was mostly very friendly and helpful. I wouldn't recommend going out at night by yourself. Was much more expensive than it should have been.

Lots of little issues. A/C thermostat made incessant clicking noise. Bedding gave us the sniffles. No firm pillows. No hot water til 10 min into shower, i.e., almost done. Great location. Nice staff. Walk to Milwaukee Public Market and lots of great attractions nearby.

We stayed here two nights to attend a Brewer's Game. The bed was comfortable. The alarm clock was not working and they replaced it right away. The A/C thermostat was clicking as in a previous comment. We reported it the first day and it didn't seem to fix the problem so we reported it again and they sent someone as we were checking out. A/C blows from the ceiling and can be drafty. Breakfast was good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was $14/day and can be paid while exiting the garage. E... Read more

Last night Geoff and Britani were on point. On my way out to Summerfest they gave me great directions, food recommendations, and a delicious cookie. After my evening's festivities they were still there when I got back. They were both very friendly and generous with their time and knowledge of the area. I travel quite a lot for my job and have been very impressed by these two fine employees in every interaction. Definitely stay at this Hampton Inn when you visit Milwaukee. I'm very impressed.

Very nice downtown Milwaukee hotel. Courteous staff, clean rooms and good breakfast. Price of the hotel was a little high, but it is in a great location - easy walk to Old Third Street and access to the river. I would recommend this hotel to others.

Big disappointment. Multiple small things put this Hampton Inn below average. Getting in to the hotel from the parking garage was confusing, entrance not well marked. Room furniture was old, comforter stained, shower drain slow, closet door stuck, as did the door to actually get into the room. Poor management is my only guess. I'd keep looking if you are wanting to stay downtown Milwaukee.

Overall, this hotel was fine. There are a lot of things I could nitpick about but none of them were that big of a deal. The only one that was actually annoying was the thermostat. It was clicking and the temperature would not adjust. They sent someone to fix it within 15 minutes. He did fix the clicking BUT had to get in the ceiling to adjust the blower vent valve. So since he couldn't actually fix the thermostat temperature adjusting problems, he just gave us more airflow. After he was gone... Read more

It is very close to river walk so easy to walk to dining and bars. Room had a strange layout. I personally hate when there isn't an outlet near bed as I use my phone for an alarm. The thermostat made a clicking noise that sounded like an iron heating up which was distracting. Rooms were clean a d staff was friendly. I would stay here again when visiting the area.

This review is for the downtown location and not the West Allis location which was submitted in error. Upon first greeting the front desk staff was cheerful and very helpful. They were accomidating with my elevator phobia and showed the way to our room using the closest stairs. That was comforting. This hotel is very conveniently located to all attractions downtown Milwaukee. It offers a breakfast in the mornings along with an indoor pool and hot tub. It has parking attached that offers a very reasonable parking rate. The suites are especially nice with a separate sitting area and two TVs. It offers a mini refrigerator and microwave in the suite.
