The staff was incredible, including breakfast staff. The rooms were exceptionally clean, I check every inch of the sheets on the beds. I was not told the breakfast was not included, infact, it cost $10.00 and if I wasn't so hungry and not in a hurry, I would have gone somewhere else. Since I had to pay $10.00 for food, I expected it to be really good; in fact, it was the worst breakfast ever. The hotel was beautiful!

We have a family of 5. Our family consists of 3 large teenagers. The suites are large and comfy. The pullout bed was comfortable and large for my 19 year old son. It was also clean. The pool was very nice and the hot tub was great after a long drive. The staff was friendly.

Being as I am not a Charleston resident, I am not that aware of the borders concerning Charleston and South Charleston. Although the address of this hotel is listed as Charleston, it seems that it is actually in South Charleston. Wonderful staff. Every person I encountered was pleasant and helpful. There are the customary small coffee pots in the rooms. When I asked at the front desk if there was complementary coffee available anywhere (other than by purchased from the cafe), I was told tha... This modern, upscale inn, has all the amenities that you could ask for. Our room was spacious, immaculate and well appointed. All of the personnel were knowledgeable, pleasant and professional. It is conveniently located to restaurants and shopping. The delocious breakfast buffet is well worth the price. This is definitely a "comeback".

Visited on 22 May 2016 and the staff were friendly and professional. We especially enjoyed our visit with Roberta in the restaurant. We changed plans to route our trip back home so we could visit Roberta again. The rooms are comfortable, quiet, and have the required necessities of home. You will find easy access on and off the interstate at exit 56. This will continue to be our stop each trip!!

Having completed a long day of biking the Greenbrier River Trail in WV, and on our way to KY, Charleston is where we got to @ 8;30 pm, being hungry and tired, so decided to stop here for the night. We chose this place on the go as 1 of 4 available that allowed pets and also had a Jacuzzi with pool. Bad move. As you make your way to this hotel in SOUTH Charleston, you are greeted by the massive sprawl of serious industrial plant grit in the immediate area. It's what you might envision of a WV pla... We stopped here en route to the carolinas. Friendly staff, clean room, good food (though pricey) at the hotel restaurant. Would stay here again. Location is convenient to major highways. The only thing I did not like was the lack of curtains to darken the room (only the sheer ones covered the Windows).

We stopped here for a night during our road trip home, thinking it would be clean, and the pool would be something our two year old could enjoy. We were wrong. The sheets had old blood stains on them, and when we asked for additional shampoo and towels, they forgot to bring them until we went down to the front desk to complain (2 hours later). As for a good night's rest, don't even think about it. The hotel is adjacent to railroad tracks, so multiple times a night trains come through that litera... Read more

Lobby blew me away. It is beautiful and clean. Other travelers are making me want to scream bc they are loud, thoughtless and rude. There are people running up and down the hall, the ice maker is right outside our room, as is the side exit, so all night it's been a chorus of clanging and banging. It's 620am and I hear a vacuum in the hall which is ridiculously too early for cleaning staff to be at work outside rooms. We were moving across the country with two pets and this was our first hotel stop. The hotel was not right in Charleston, but rather outside of it, in a part of Charleston that seemed to leave a bit to be desired. Upon arrival, the woman at the front desk wasn't very welcoming, which was disappointing, because when we booked the room, the man that I spoke to was incredibly friendly and so I was expecting great customer service. When traveling for business I tend to favor Marriott and Hilton properties, but a recent family trip took us through Charleston and we were traveling with our pet which limited our options. I chose the Holiday Inn because of the good reviews and it did not disappoint. We were a bit unsure when we saw the outside as the hotel is in a bit of an urban neighborhood that is a mix of residential and industrial. Was here for almost a week for work (during flood recovery), and the comfortable room and great staff at breakfast made it a less work -like stay. Only glitch is that breakfast hours are later on weekends and holidays, which meant doing without several days (as work hours were still early). Relatively easy access to interstate and South Charleston is just a few blocks away, with quaint shops and cafes. Kudos to all the staff for making our large group welcome and cared for.

The front desk had to add them at check out time. The breakfast is one of the worst we have had a a Holiday Inn. They have cheapened the breakfast with less inferior products.
