The hotel is well placed logistically talking. There is a lot of space for parking. Though these seem to be some good qualities, I found bad the inside. My room wasn't very clean, plus there were some problems with the elevator, infact I'been stuck there with two old ladies for 45 minutes. Crazy.

Downtown location was good. Room was clean and comfortable. Exercise room good. TV could have had more channels and been easier to negotiate. Restaurant food was very good. Wish they had a free breakfast though. Good parking especially for downtown. Room quiet for the most part.

We have stayed at the Holiday Inn on Third Avenue multiple times over the past four years and each time our stay has lived up to or exceeded our expectations. The personnel at the check in desk are friendly and efficient. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The location is great for restaurants and access to Marshall University. I love this place!

We had no particular reason to be in this town. We rolled in around 4pm with no reservations as it began raining and got a very nice room for a fair price. Breakfast is a separate charge but was very good, especially the orange juice. The room was spacious, with a second sink outside the bathroom. Extra outlets were present and are always appreciated, but please put them near the bed too! Charming downtown. The arena/convention center is right across the street; if I were coming for an event the... Read more

Very good stay, room is clean, calm, street view, in the downtown, close to Restaurants, cafés and shopping center. I met in this hotel Bernie Sanders during the presidential election in 2016 The breakfast is poor. There is no mouthwash in the bathroom. The Internet connection is bad in the room I couldn't even check my email. I had to go to the lobby to use the Internet

It's a nice, pleasant, standard Holiday Inn, but the big selling point is location - very close to Marshall University and to lots of good restaurants. While it's right beside the river, there's no river view because there's a parking deck in between. Everything was clean and well done. Front desk people were nice, as were the housekeepers. Room was well set up, with a little sitting area with couch, a desk with good Wifi. One minor aggravation - you pay for breakfast (OK, I get that some ho... Read more

I was on a solo trip up the Ohio River. This Holiday Inn is one of two places downtown and from the street looked the better of the two. This Holiday Inn was very comfortable and clean. The lady behind the desk was also very helpful.

The room was nice. The front desk folks were very nice and helpful. The TV remote control didn't work they changed the batteries but it didn't fix the problem. I wasn't in town to watch TV anyway so it was av4ery minor issue.

Although the room was a nice size, the housekeeping was very bad- old food left in the fridge when I checked in, used lotion in the bathroom, they didnt appear to change sheets during a week long stay, and never replaced empty Kleenex during stay. Was given the wrong access code for wi-fi upon check-in. High room rate for no complimentary continental breakfast, and could not locate an in-hotel store to purchase necessities or snacks. The air conditioner in my room worked but was incredibly loud... Read more

1. I thought it was a Holiday Inn Express. A big let down to not get Holiday Inn cinnamon rolls in the morning. Breakfast not included. 2. Dog show going on at the arena next door. I love dogs, but I don't sleep in a barn and don't want to sleep in a room that has had animals in it. Heck, I thought was in a boarding kennel. Don't get me wrong, the dogs were all well behaved, but I don't sleep with animals for a reason. In fact, I've cancelled my frequent stayer membership at other propert... Read more

I was a little disappointed in the room condition. There seemed to be "dust" in the corners of the room and it was musty/smoky smelling in the room. It wasn't overpowering, but noticeable when you walk in. Breakfast was NOT included in the rate, however, parking was free. The pool was very nice, small, but nice. There is NO spa/hot tub either. The hotel is in a great location. It's close to the river and a nice shopping plaza with some good places to eat.

My family were visiting Marshall University as my daughter got accepted into their graduate program. I enjoyed the hotel. The was very accommodating and friendly. I had booked online through Expedia right before entering the hotel. When I went to check in they did not have me listed. I couldn't believe it. It was my fault because in my haste to check in I choose the wrong dates. However, no problem. The hotel checkin person, not sure if he was the manager called Expedia and I was able to... Read more

My fiancé and I made a spur of the moment weekend trip to Huntington to visit family and have always enjoyed staying in Holiday Inn's. They always seem to be clean and well managed. While I had no problem reserving our room over the phone I did not care much for my call immediately being directed to their headquarters to talk to me for 10 minutes about some special offer while I repeatedly told the gentleman that I was on the road and needed to hang up the phone and that I was not interested. I wasn't expecting much when we first booked the room. But, when we got there I was pleasantly suprised by how nice the place looked. The lady at the front desk was very kind and helped us out whenever we needed it! I was disappointed that the breakfast buffet wasn't free however, it wasn't really worth the price. It also kindof bothered me that the vending machines only accepted dollar bills which I didn't have on me. But overall it was great and I have very few complaints!

My husband and I took a weekend trip to Huntington, WV because that's where we met, fell in love, married, etc. We haven't been back in a great many years but we came back to celebrate our 15 year anniversary. Unfortunately, we started off at the Pullman Plaza Hotel (used to be Radisson - since that's literally where we met and got started) but we had to check out immediately due to the poor conditions of that particular hotel. We called the Holiday Inn literally from the other hotel room and... Read more

We pulled into Huntington for fuel and I did a search of hotels, it showed the Holiday Inn as Express so my wife and I chose to stay the night. All previous stays had been great at Holiday Inns and reasonably priced. I was quite surprised that the price with tax was almost $200 and then did not include the complimentary breakfast. Everything was okay or average not worth the cost we paid. Front desk clerk was great! Will not stay here on our drive home.

Due to our Platinum status we were upgraded to a suite. The room was large but there was not desk or table to work on (just a couch and coffee table) and the furniture has seen it's better days. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and the wifi signal was strong. I was surprised there was a $9.98 per person charge for breakfast (guess I'm use to the free great breakfasts offered at Holiday Inn Express). The parking lot was full when we returned to the hotel in the evening so we had to... Read more

I've been staying here for years since it is just down the road from Marshall University. Last week I was going to be in town for a week and wound up changing hotels because I was very disappointed. So we have stayed here several times over the last four years having a student athlete at Marshall University. We find the staff accommodating, the location best in town and the rooms very competitive for the market. Walking distance to many places to eat and shop. Not the newest renovations but current. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. So a couple of areas that could be improved is the breakfast at the hotel. You get charged for it and you get the same items as other IHG's ... Read more

Will not stay at this hotel again. Price was ridiculous. Way way to expensive. Yes it was convenient to the arena and restaurants. Maybe the price will b lower when no events are going on next door. Room had a very bad smell, asked for air freshener since hotel had no other rooms available. We were on 1st floor. It does have a dining area, a pool, exercise area, pets are welcome. Staff was friendly but busy due to event.

I checked in and Jamie at the front desk was very helpful and welcoming. I had a small problem with my room and he took care of it right away. He also moved me to the ground floor as he checked my preferences on line (something rarely done by most desk clerks). The room is comfortable and the hotel was clean. The location is perfect as you can walk to many restaurants and a bookstore.

so to start the employees are rude. I was there for a convention and overheard an employee refer to the convention attendees as "those nasty tsubasacon people" . I was just trying to enjoy my weekend and I stay there every year because it is right next to the convention center and that convenience seems to out weigh the fact that this place NEVER gets our stay right. It shouldn't be hard really to just put someone in a room for a weekend charge them what you originally said you were going to cha... Read more

Staying in Huntington for the New River Gorge Train trip! Check In was easy and efficient . Our room was clean and the air conditioning worked great. There was a shuttle to the train station and the shuttle was waiting for us when we arrived on our return train trip. Check out was easy and fast! Be sure to reserve your room early if you are there for the train ride or an event at the Civic Center( Next Door). As they fill up quick.

I do truly love the location!!!!! It is so close to the Big Sandy Superstore Arena where we attended a concert. I was so very pleased about that! It also has many restaurants in walking distance. We always seek out Thai food when traveling, and we were happy to find it at the Surin of Thailand restaurant. It is a short walk to it on the same side of the street. As far as the hotel, our check-in was quick and flawless. We found our room clean and well maintained. The king bed was very comfortabl... Read more
