Stayed here while on spring break touring Harpers Ferry and Civil War Battlefields. Upon checking in and subsequent stay it was nice to be welcomed and feel that we mattered. The hotel has a nice layout and very clean. Pool was heated. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The room needs more plug-ins for computer devices. Morning breakfast was complete with cold and hot meals and the breakfast area was very nice and spacious. Again, the staff is attentive and made sure their guests were... Read more

My wife planned a weekend to get-away and enjoy the area around Harpers Ferry, WV. We stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful time. Very clean, very comfortable and the staff was very friendly. The rooms were fairly large and the fascilities has everything needed. Really good restaurant/pub on the premises. Will stay here again, highly recommend.

We were only there for a night prior to the Harper's Ferry Half Marathon. The location of the hotel for the race was incredible. The start and finish line was in walking distance. The hotel itself was great. Nice Breakfast, fantastic view, and great staff. The hotel is in walking distance to transportation that takes you to to Harper's Ferry National Park. I would highly recommend a stay here if you are checking out the area.

We stayed here while in town for a white water rafting trip (right down the hill). The hotel was very easy to get to and parking was plentiful - we stayed in the main building. The gentleman at the front desk was extremely helpful, as well as very friendly and checked us in promptly. The room we booked was a standard double. Size of the room was comparable to the number of guests we had with us, we weren't all cramped. The room was very clean as well as the bed linens. All the basic necessities ... Read more

We have stayed at this location the last several times we have visited the casino and raceway. They offer complimentary shuttle service to the casino from 4pm to 2am on Saturday nights, not sure of the schedule other times. This is a really nice service as we are usually on two wheels and prefer not to drive late at night or if having a drink. The front desk could not be any friendlier or accommodating as they made arrangements for us to park our motorcycles under the front covered area. W... Read more

The hotel was nice and the staff was friendly. Hotel lobby was nice but rooms could use updating. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was a hot breakfast with eggs, bacon, potato patty, waffles, yogurt, fruit, pastries, etc. Located a mile from the entrance to Harper's Ferry National Park.

On our recent vacation to West Virginia, this hotel was in a great location for all our adventures. The friendly staff at the front desk was very helpful, the breakfast room was spacious, the room was clean and well attended to, and the afternoon cookies were a bonus. Parking was convenient. The slow to non-existent internet connection was the only thing that was disappointing. The hotel is located just down the road from the National Park Visitors Center and is convenient to many Civil War ... Read more

My wife and 3 kids spent the night here while passing through on a raid trip. The hotel is a great base for exploring historic Harper's Ferry. Staff was very nice and welcoming. The kids loved the pool and free cookies! The restaurant was decent too. Would stay here again.

My family and I recently visted Harper's Ferry and were looking for a place to say that was close by (and not too expensive). We have never stayed in a Clarion hotel before so I wasn't sure what to expect. The hotel was very nice and had great value for the price. Front desk people were very polite and helpful. They even told us that Independence Day fireworks could be seen from the main parking lot the evening of our stay. Room was great- clean (most important item for me when forming an opinio... Definitely a great location and very kid friendly with a great, warm indoor pool. Close to Harper's Ferry and the restaurants in Bolivar. For all the activity it was fairly quiet and we had a good sleep. The breakfast was wonderful as well.

We were in Harpers Ferry visiting family. Our plan was to stay with them but at the last minute we realized that it wasn't going to work out. I searched for hotels in the area and called the Clarion. Within 20 minutes we were in our room. The front desk staff was very polite and helpful, especially a gentleman named Jerry. Our room was spacious and very clean. They have a heated indoor pool, which was very nice after a long drive. Their restaurant was a little pricey, but the food was goo... Read more

Super friendly English speaking staff. Hotel condition was average. I thought the price was a little high for what you get but it is in line with other hotels in the area. I would have given this four stars but there was a bar of soap left in the shower complete with pubic hairs and the shower curtain was mildewed. The location and staff more than made up for any negatives. I will stay here again.

This Clarion is exactly what you expect for the price ($100 + tax for a room). Sheets are clean, bathroom is fine, carpets vaguely terrifying and rooms were very big. Friendly people in the reception. The breakfast was far better than expected - crispy bacon and eggs as well as the usual muffins wrapped in plastic. The bar in the hotel was really weird. It may have been in the process of being renovated, but it was pretty unwelcoming. Food was below average but the selection of local beer was gr... Read more

for a beautiful view. We only stayed one night on our way back from VA Beach to Ohio. Our room was fabulous and the beds were heavenly after 7 hrs fighting traffic. The breakfast buffet in the morning was a true buffet, including 2 waffle makers. We didn't have time to enjoy the indoor heated pool. The Clarion Inn runs a shuttle to the casino at Charles Town, so we did take a few hours to go to the casino. I've toured Harpers Ferry before. I just checked in after a long drive and wanted to shower. The place was sketchy to start with. Then I found this left behind by the last guest when I tried to shower! Half empty shampoo bottles and a used bar of soap covered in hair! Disgusting!!

A friend and I began our first series of Appalachian Trail day hikes above Harper's Ferry. Finding a hotel that was close with good enough ratings was tough. I am extremely happy with the Clarion. It was very clean, very cool, and the beds were comfortable. (Yes - even before the hike.) There is a small but nice indoor pool, and a nice included breakfast. I can't say enough about the very kind and courteous staff. We left a safety check with them as we left for our hike and they were watch... Read more

My boyfriend and i stayed at this hotel for one night on our way to Harper's Ferry, and we had a pleasant stay here. It was very clean and very quiet where they placed us. The area was not bad either coming in late at night. The breakfast the next morning was good. We could make our own waffles and the buffet was fully stocked. Overall, we would stay here again.

Older building but well kept. Stayed one night no complaints. Ate at the restaurant in the hotel it was average nothing great but not horrible! Very easy access to outdoor activities such as tubing, rafting ect. Also received a discount for tubing because they had some affiliation with the hotel be sure to mention that for a discount they don't make it public knowledge

Nice clean room. Good size. Comfortable mattresses and good selection of pillows. Room had refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Safe in room. The only real problem was the bathroom. It was quite small and had no counter space to put your toilet items on. Carrying my shaving kit in and out was not a problem but there was no place to put it when i carried it in. It also had an odor that was off putting. The hotel was in three separate buildings and my feeling was that our room was in the olde... Read more

There are not a lot of hotel options in this area so it was nice to find a good solid hotel. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were clean and the morning breakfast was well done. Also the location was convenient as we were using River Riders next door for activities. They were also very accommodating - our first room smelled like smoke and they moved us right away. The only negative is that pool was dirty and smelled a bit so we avoided it.

The location, just down the highway from the NPS visitor's center, is close to both HF and Charles Town. Though just off the road, we did not encounter any noise from traffic at night time. Let's start that our room cost us $190 with a AAA discount. As soon as we got to our non-smoking room, it reaked of smoke, was a little outdated and there was a large group of teenagers directly outside our room. The positives were a new TV, large fridge and good location to historic Harpers Ferry. John at reception was fantastic on the other hand, we got there early and he pushed our room to be cleaned first and was informative about what we were planning to do. I'd like to preface my review by saying that we only stayed at the Clarion Inn for one night, and spent very little time at the hotel during the two days we were in Harpers Ferry. After a long day of hiking, we were mildly annoyed to arrive at the hotel at 3:30pm (check-in begins at 3pm) to find that our room was not ready. Once we were able to get into our room, the room itself was clean and seemed to have average amenities. The free Wifi was a plus for us and one of the reasons we picked this... Read more
