I think this hotel is somewhat overrated. Internet didn't work last night, wifi at one bar most of the time with long delays in connectivity or dropped connectivity (I qualified for free wifi). Like others have noted, very odd showers with one half pane glass so you have to be in the shower and cold water blast on you to turn it on, not sure who thought that was a good guest experience! With rain, I noted no covered area between the hotel and parking garage when coming and going (small area to... Read more

My family and I stayed at this hotel for a long weekend. The staff was excellent. They were so friendly and helped us often. We have 2 very small children, so we needed some special things like high chairs, cribs, etc and everyone was more than willing to help. The only negative thing I can say is that the carpets were very dirty. My 9 month old was crawling everywhere and she was filthy from the carpet. Otherwise it was a great hotel.

When visiting, I've found other hotel/motels that have less expensive prices. Even considered one one visit. Despite the price, it includes a breakfast buffet with good choices, including EZ food to go, such as pre~packaged yogurts and ripe fruits. And bottled beverages. I have decided to go with this place despite the lower prices. + it has a shuttle which is handy for CRW airport that is included in the room price. + it has a daily HH with free liquor from 5:30~7:30pm every day. The guy making pancakes and/or omelettes was very nice and made my 4 year old lil girl a smiley face pancake with chocolate chips and she ate the hole thing!!!!! I will highly recommend it to anyone that is staying in that area!!!!! The service was great and the atmosphere was very comfortable!!!

Just a one night getaway with the wife....professional staff at check-in and good bartender/food in lounge. $12 to park is way to high for the's Charleston WV, not Los Angeles. Hotel nowhere near full. But that was not a big deal. Oh and someone's bratty kids woke us up the next morning, but that's from poor parenting and not the hotel's fault. Mind your kids, people!

I stay here frequently. Staff is friendly, services are good. Location is perfect for doing business downtown, and for a runner like me, it's a couple miles from a trail along the Kanawha River. But the rooms are tired and depressing -- looking like they haven't been updated since the 1980's. Nice bathrooms with walk-in showers, but carpeting, furniture, lamps, etc. are just plain old. And restaurant is OK --- if you like sports bars.

Compared to other Embassy Suites, this one was not as nice. A bit outdated, evening reception food was okay-- shrimp rubbery. Bar selections were nice. Food in the morning was cold on the food bar. My sink did not drain at all. Housekeeping knocked at 8am and tried to enter although i called out that it was occupied. For the price, i expected nicer but i will give them another chance since the location is great.

Hotel is in a great location in Charleston, easy to get to, easy parking, next to mall with food court. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. Bathrooms are very dirty and when they get wet, you leave tracks of mud/dirt on the tile which was disgusting. Bathrooms definitely need updated. One elevator wasn't working and there is no exit door at the lobby level so the only way down is to use an elevator. Wait times were 10-15 minutes for an elevator. Wi-fi is very slow.

Third stay at this property, mainly due to it's location on a common travel route for our family. Our room was ready, in working order, and clean. Staff was friendly at check-in and the goodie bag for being a rewards member was hearty. We even found a parking spot in the tiny lot out front! Hotel charges Handicap persons to park in a handicap space. Very poor treatment on the hotels part. We had to ask for toilet paper and coffee on our 2nd day. The morning breakfast was out of control for 2 days because of a very large group of 8-15 year olds running all over the eating area. They were rude and bumped in to many of the guests and caused the food area to be a mess. One of the employees even remarked to my wife and I that this was zoo. The furnishings and wall decor needs to be updated, along with new carpeting and bathroom upgrades. In other words, I would recommend the hotel consider renovations of the suites in the near future. However, the hot comp... Read more

I have been coming to the Embassy Suites in Charleston for approximately 8 years. Always a nice place to stay and wonderful site for a conference. Close to shopping, restaurants and downtown experience. I would recommend this hotel to any corporation for a meeting and to indiviuals for personal stay.

A middle of the road property as far S facility condition and great helpful staff but two big problems will keep this property off our return list: 1) shuttle pickedus up at airport and made "one additional stop" stop turned out to be at a dive bar where seven very drunk patrons piled into our van, literally falling down the stairs and into the van. They were extremely boisterous and loud and reeked of alcohol so badly we had to roll down the windows to breathe. It terrified my wife so that I m... Read more

We had a handicapped accessible room because my father in-law is an invalid and it worked great. My husband I used the foldout couch and the hallway was a little noisy one night. The breakfast buffet was excellent and offered a wide variety of foods.

My family and I loved the hotel but when we stayed there we didn't really enjoyed our stay because there was some people fighting. The security had to knock at their door to calm them down, it was ridiculous! From 7pm til midnight. My Mom really did not get a good sleep. I'm still giving it an excellent rating because I know that it's not the hotel's fault for having some rude guests. But I wish our room was on a different floor though. Anyway, the happy hr and free breakfast was nice. We tr... Read more

Always a pleasure to stay at Embassy Suites. The beds are outstanding and the breakfast has anything you want including homemade omelets. Service desk is most helpful and check in and out takes only a minute. The Manager's evening reception was very relaxing. Overall, a great experience and I enjoy staying there 3 or 4 times a year.

Let me start by saying, the staff was incredible, right down to housekeeping. The room was spacious and even the foldout bed was comfy. Breakfast was awesome. Something for everyone. The evening reception was nice treat. The restaurant, sports club had the best food. Thanks Rusty for putting up with this bama fan on game day. We barely left the hotel as everything we needed was right there. Security always present. Karyn at check in was so nice and very knowledgeable. The shuttle drivers were a... Read more

Very expensive for a dated room but it was a very busy weekend due to the Concert. My room seemed dated, Average size bathroom and no Kitchen area. The last Embassy Suites we stayed in was in Savannah GA which was amazing, beautiful large bathrooms and kitchen areas. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a shuttle to take you downtown for free. GREAT LOCATION for charleston. We ordered food which was wonderful plus had free drinks at the social hour which we love.

I stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights for business. The hotel property is very nice. The inside court is beautiful and spacious. The rooms are very clean. However, I had many issues with the amateur manner in which the hotel was operated. For instance: We reserved a two-room suite with a king-size bed, but the hotel tried to put my wife and I in separate (small) beds. Also, upon check-in they told me that the cook-to-order breakfast started at 6 a.m. At 6:15 a.m. on 10/22/16 the breakfas... Read more

I have stayed at this location before but this stay was just ok. The staff was friendly but the hotel was loud and not as clean as it has been before. We had to ask twice for extra pillows and one elevator was broken which led to long wait times. If I am in the area again I'd probably give it another chance but I was a little disappointed.

This clearly has been a beautiful hotel but it is beginning to show its age. At the very least it could use a some cleaning around the edges. Bed linens and towels were fine, but the beds could use some upgarding. If you have to move your car to the parking garage be sure to take your bags to your room first. If you don't get a space in their limited parking area you have to go to adjacent parking garage. I ended up carrying my "overloaded duffel bag" (my bad) about a half city block. The ... Read more

The hotel itself is attractive and the rooms are large and comfortable. That's not the issue. The problem is the staff; they don't have a customer service friendly attitude and that just doesn't cut it when you are paying $200+ a night. Telling people "No" and rolling your eyes and walking off without explanation aren't acceptable practices at this price point. And I'm EASY to get along with! I can't imagine how they would be with a more 'challenging' and demanding hotel guest. There were some ... Read more

Olga, the on duty staff member we talked to when calling in was fantastic. We were arriving late and wanted dinner on arrival. The hotel restaurant would be closed since it was late Sunday night. Olga called local restaurants to find one that would be open, and then called us back with the information. She was great. I am a Hilton Gold member and have stayed at this hotel well over 100 nites over the past few years. Most aspects of the hotel are very nice - the rooms, the breakfast, pleasant staff, etc. Over the years, parking has been an "issue". There are lots of signs in the front lot telling you not to park in particular areas. Over the years, these signs have been 100% ignored by the hotel and its guests. If the (very small) front lot is full, as it often is, one must, instead, park in the garage a blo... Read more
