Travelling is very stressful and tiring. When you arrive at a hotel the traveller needs all the comforts they can get. Having a restaurant on the premises would be very helpful. Going out in an unfamiliar area looking for a restaurant is also tiring and stressful after a long day on the road

We have stayed at the Hampton Inn, Beckley a number of times over the years, normally in the spring or summer. We have always found it to be clean, quiet, and safe. Upkeep is good, the rooms are maintained to a very high standard. The dining area can become a bit crowded if they are busy. Three items of note: (1) you should reserve a room ahead of your stay, they will often sell out. (2) access from the freeway is easy on and off (3) The parking lot is adjacent to both a Bob Evans and the Te... Read more

Since 2010, we've stayed here at least a dozen times traveling from NC to WV and OH and back. The location is convenient to I 77/64 plus the property and people are consistent and always welcoming whether Gold or Diamond members. We understand this property is due a 2017 make over. OK. Very convenient to a wide variety of restaurants and gas stations. By all means, eat at Tamarack that is close by. We will stay here again and again.

A quick stop in Beckley at the Hampton Inn proved to be one of our best choices on the road to North Carolina. The staff was accommodating, cheerful and willing to go the extra mile with a late check out when we arrived after 2:00 am. The room was as expected- clean and neat. No problems with anything. Hilton standard level. After placing us far enough away from early risers to sleep through the majority of the early morning noise, we woke to a good complimentary breakfast. Thanks! Hampton Inn o... The checkin was helpful, the rooms where big, it was quiet, they let us park our motorcycles under the awning in the light which is a big deal for us. But for $140 a night I expect a refrigerator and microwave in the room. the breakfast the next day was average, not bad not good. Beware of the women the van in the parking lot trying to scam men out of money. I told the desk they said shes back and that they had her arrested before.

I used to visit this hotel often as I used to travel to the area for work, so when a road trip brought me back through the area I wanted to stop here for the night. The property appears like it could use a face lift on the outside, but the interiors seemd updated. Check in was fast and efficient. We usually stay at Hampton Inn because of the great value for the money. This did not meet our expectations. The venting on our floor (5th) was so loud that I was ready to turn around. Thankfully, our room was at the end if the hall and we couldn't hear it. The room was clean but pretty run down (outdated and loud AC system) and the mattress was not updated to the ones all Hamptons are using so I woke up with a sire back. Our room was clean and the staff we encountered was friendly. The breakfast provided was good. We stayed here overnight on our way home from the OBX and it is a nice hotel. You can tell that most of the clients are business travelers. Our only complaint was the lack of fridge in the room.

For the price ($150+) the room was below average with a floor that felt damp, and a couple of issues in the bathroom . The breakfast area was not well thought out. The place was sold out (could be due to recent flooding) and items that required prep (waffles, etc) were in with dip out and move along items. This caused a back log . Many others have separate areas for the different items.

We stayed one night during a road trip. The room was clean and what staff we ran into pleasant, but we would not stay here again. No fault of the management. (1) We are "shun pike" sorts of folks. Staying here required us to go into the city, when we had no other reason to do so. (2) Perhaps because of the recent flooding, the hotel was full. Some (not all) parents did not expect their children to be respectful of others--nor were the parents respectful, for that matter. Lots of slamming doors a... Read more

We booked our Labor Day weekend stay at the Beckley Hampton Inn a week in advanced with a great rate. Check-in was a breeze and the king size room was more than adequate. The hotel has a decent gym which we used for three straight mornings. The food at the breakfast bar was stocked and enough to hold you well through lunch. Hotel exterior has the older facia but the interior has the updated decor. We felt comfortable going sightseeing and leaving our stuff here during the day.
