I've stayed here quite a few times and the best bang for your buck if you ask me. however one visit housekeeping demanded that they had to enter my room for service, I was sleeping and they were in there 2 days ago! The housekeeper said it was hotel policy that the rooms have to be serviced every other day at minimum. I was not happy considering it was my weekend and I wanted to sleep.

I stayed here Saturday night on the 30th of April, 2016. The moment my family and I arrived, we were greeted by the front desk (Cory) attentively and kindly. The room was very nice and spacious with a convenient delivery service menu for local eats. Beds were comfy and extra vanity area outside of the bathroom was nice. The fridge was much larger than any I've seen before at an Inn or Hotel. It had a good size freezer and the fridge along with the microwave were set up in the room efficiently. T... Read more

My husband and I are from Portland and we see many Shilo Inns in Oregon and we were delighted to come across one on our road trip towards Vancouver Canada. We didn't have a reservation and walked in around 9 pm and the young lady Chelsea was very pleasant and welcoming and gave us a wonderful rate. Breakfast was delicious and Mary was very helpful with the waffle maker. We love Shilo Inns and especially the one in Tacoma.

I stayed eight nights at The Shilo Inn, a comfortable hotel in a good safe neighbourhood off I-5. My room was spacey and clean, albeit a little dated. The fitness room is small and equipped with just three basic instruments (treadmill, elliptical, multi-weight) but there's a swimming pool, more suitable for families and kids than for swimmers. For a run, Wapato Park or the track at Giaudrone School are near. A few restaurants are just across the street. Breakfast is in the lobby, with limited sp... Read more

Not a great start as it took 40 minutes to check in. There were a ton of young people who were going to a concert and only one person was at the desk. This line did not get any shorter for at least 2 hours. The room was OK but dated and the floors above creaked which was not pleasant when the person above with ADHD started pacing at 2 in the morning. The pool was nice and the staff was helpful the next morning ,helping us find our lost swim googles.

We were charged more than Quoted on the phone. We were told if we used the prices from trip advisor we would have to pay more tax.The bathroom contained underwear from the last person. That meant the bathroom was not throughly cleaned. They did offer to change rooms but who was to say it was not cleaned by the same person. The bed was horrible you slept in a hole. They need to be replaced. We have stayed many times at Shilo so was very shocked at this one.

The Shilo Inn in Tacoma its "ok" and when say ok I'm stretching it. The hotel staff are polite except for the manager. She is abrasive and her deportment is rude when dealing with customers. The only reason I stayed in the hotel is because employer booked this hotel for me. I have recommend to my employer not use this hotel again not just based on my experiences but also those of my fellow employees. The internet does not work. The Internet consistently kicks people off of network and when it is... Read more

Well let's see. I tried to check in and the lady was rude and said um no. I was like umm ok. Turned around and left. Came back an hour later and was given a room right away. I get that check in time is a certain time but I also work front desk and know you can move things around and a smile goes a long way. The second gal same no smile just business. I didn't feel welcome here. Got to our room and there was boogers on the wall in the bathroom and I noticed that night papers on the floor. Picked... Read more

I love this place, and my wife and I (and occasionally our dog) have been staying at the Shilo Inn & Suites in Tacoma every chance we have since 2003. It never disappoints, I always get a friendly greeting (especially from JJ at the front desk). The continental breakfast is a plus, but super dining options are right across the street. The rooms are clean, well supplied, quiet and comfortable. It's a great value. I'm a loyal customer and intend to keep it that way.

Great hotel. Pet friendly. CLose to freeway. Quiet. 24 hour pool. Staff is a little standoffish. Not a bad place to stay. Better then most of the hotels in the area. Adequate pricing. Neighborhood isnt the best.

When my wife and I arrived we were cheerfully greeted at the front desk by "J.J." She inquired about our travel to Tacoma and was concerned that we get the right room for our needs. "J.J." placed us "Inn" a fabulous room. Our "Suite" room had a sitting area with a large sofa, and a large table for game playing and eating meals or snacks. The area also included a refrigerator, microwave, range, sink and all the cooking appliances, flatware, plates and dishes you would ever need. The sleeping... Read more

Stayed at many motel/hotels over the years. This is one of the cleanest. Nice pool and nice breakfast. Employees are OK. I would rate their customer service/hospitality at 80%. They could be more helpful and appreciative as we pay their wages and we like happy workers. The most hospitable were maint personnel. VERY friendly and seemed ready to do anything if you asked. But, all in all it was a good stay. I will stay there again.

My family and I recently stayed at the Shilo Inn Tacoma while spending a couple days on the west side of the state. Easy location right off I5. I spoke with Dustin who got me set up for two rooms, and I couldn't thank him enough. It was especially nice to come back to a quiet hotel late after a Mariner's game, and get a good night's sleep on a comfy bed. The pool was 24 hours and the breakfast had a good selection. Thank you Dustin for helping set up my family and I. We can't wait to come back.

I stayed at the Shilo Inn & Suites Tacoma for only one night, on business. Honestly, I wouldn't have minded staying longer. The room was very clean, comfortable, and a good size. There was a mini refrigerator, microwave, a table and two chairs - which are sometimes not included in other facilities. There was also a pool and free continental breakfast, but I didn't have an opportunity to check them out. The front desk agent was friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located near Elmer's,... Read more

We had a double queen room. Average size room for a hotel. Hotel is clean and the pool is a decent size. Breakfast has a pretty good variety including fresh waffles. Staff service was not amazing, but it was adequate. AC is quiet enough and works well. Requested a late check out which gets you 3 extra hours for half a day's charge (how does that work out as fair?). It is very easy to get to and convenient to the freeway. Con: it is RIGHT next to the freeway. If you are sensitive to nois... Read more

It's a great location to stay out of Seattle but near so many great tourist attractions inlcuding CenturyLink Field for a Seahawks game. The location was easy to find using our GPS. Even though we were close to the interstate I-5, we did not hear any noise. The facility was very clean and the bed comfortable. All personnel were friendly and helpful. We loved the waterfront area in Tacoma and nearby Botanical Gardens. Only drawback was the hot breakfast which had limited offerings.

We enjoyed our very big room and kingsize bed. Bed and bathroom are clean and decent. The breakfast is okay, everything you need; bagels, waffles, coffee, juice and confiture. Good place to stay when you've been out all day and need a good night of sleep.

An established hotel which has been updated nicely. I have stayed here several times throughout the years. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The surrounding neighborhood is a a bit crowded, but is ok for South Tacoma. The breakfast was free but unfortunately not very good. The air conditioner was powerful yet quiet. The shower was clean and hot. The Wi-Fi worked well, and there was plenty of parking. IHOP and Elmers are right across the street. There is also a convenience store next doo... Read more

This was the first time I stayed at the Tacoma location of Shilo Inn and enjoyed my stay with the friendly staff and clean comfortable rooms. I want to give JJ at the front desk a very big THANK YOU for helping my mother and I as we needed to get to a wedding in Point Defiance and the traffic on I-5 was backed up. She gave us directions to get there on side streets and saved us 45 minutes of travel time. The hotel had a lot of guests there and everyone was having a good time! Thank you JJ (Ral... Read more

My wife and I stayed here twice on a recent trip. Once on the way north and once on the way south. We stopped to visit my sister in law and nephews both times. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast worked for us both times. The people were friendly. We stayed here as it was a good value and was less than a mile from the relatives. Pay attention to where you park here and pay attention to where the smokers hang out !

The Shilo Inn was a really easy place to stay after an event I went to with friends in Tacoma. The front desk staff were really really friendly (even though it was super busy!), the room met expectations at a good price, and the pool/hot tub area was great.

Nice clean and spacious room with a good view of Mt Rainier. Easy access to the freeway but far enough away that traffic noise is not a bother. Restaurants right across the street, but traffic on that street is fast and constant and there are no pedestrian crossings so you take your life in your hands getting to them. Amenities are great, including a laundry for guests. Breakfast is OK but limited on hot options. A nice place to stay.

Nice towels, nice view from our window. Very clean, comfortable. GOOD bed, good service. I love that the pool and exercise area are open 24 hours. Loved the extra hour of sleep since checkout time is Noon. Maintenance came within 2 minutes when I reported a broken coffee maker. Excellent value, loved this place.

The check in staff were very helpful and friendly in making sure I had a room for me and my dog. They were also very courteous and helpful when I accidentally left my room keys in the room. The room was very neat and clean. I liked having bath towels that are big enough to dry myself with only one towel. The housekeeping staff did a great job cleaning my room between days of my stay.
