I love the Murano - crisp linens, comfy beds, good food and décor is lovely. Make sure you ask for a larger room as the small ones are tiny. The surrounding area in Tacoma is not the best and many homeless if you walk around the downtown area. The waterfront is a nice place with an awesome bike/walk path along the sound. and great restaurants. I would recommend this for a business conference. Great conference rooms and good food. Hospitality, comfort, cuisine, decor - impeccable. I was part of an adult tap dancing group from Canada that was visiting Tacoma. Our experience with The Murano Hotel was flawless. It was a block away from the convention centre where we performed and provided a clear view of Puget Sound. We were within walking distance of the Museum of Glass and The Tacoma Art Museum.

Was told there was a 'Welcome Package' for package that I booked. Never saw it. 10 minutes after I got to my room some other guests walked in. They had been given same room and key card access. My 'package' was suppose to include breakfast but never received any advise on how to get this. Part of welcome package? Went to Bite for breakfast was advised that I would be able to order and get food in 15 min. After 5 min I had not even got coffee so I got up and left.

Beautiful hotel located in downtown(?) Tacoma. Easily walkable (distance wise, but steep hills) to a number of local restaurants. I stayed for a week for business. Hotel is immaculate, and the rooms are lovely and equipped lots of available plugs and ports for charging electronics. Beyond the beautiful hotel, the staff is amazing, and goes far above and beyond what anyone could expect. This is my favorite hotel in Tacoma, but my last stay was not the best. The sound of the elevators next to my room kept me up at night. I also upgraded to a Patron floor, and with the higher weekend rates, it was not worth it. The continental breakfast in the business center, was not up to par with the rest of the hotel.

The views from this hotel are spectacular and the ambience is very art deco. The decor is devoted to glassblowing craftsmanship which makes it visually spectacular. On a practical note parking is convenient and for a change this hotel recognizes people travel with many items that need to be charged and it was so refreshing not to have to crawl around trying to find an outlet. Bathrooms have robes and the longing chair in the room with a view of Mount Ranier was a great way to while away the e... Read more

Be sure to view the commissioned glass art on each floor. The guide is in the elevator. If you take a few moments to absorb each, you will know a lot about the glass artists this rwsion is famous for. The glass art theme extends into every public and private space in the Murano, named for the Venician island of glass-blowers.

We ended up checking in a bit later than we had planned due to a traffic delay in getting into town so probably did not get to experience all of the amenities that were available. Check in was pleasant and we were assigned a nice room on the 20th floor but when we got up to the room, one of the beds had not been completely finished in being made up and some linen was still on the floor. This is a stunning cross between a hotel and an art gallery. Glass work is everywhere, and the hotel plays with the light of it in striking fashion. We were looking for a place to stay after a Tacoma charity event. This place looked promising. Friendly staff, great location, clean modern hotel. Nice view of Rainer from our room. The continental breakfast was small but good. Downtown Tacoma is completely dead after 5pm. Easy freeway access. Would stay here again for sure.

The parking was easy, staff was great and friendly but left us alone, no issues. The only thing I wished was that the double beds were queens, they are quite narrow! But me and four kids slept just fine, me and the baby in one, two kids in the other and the third camped out on the sofa. It was clean and quiet and the beds were comfortable! No complaints.

The art glass is exquisite! I would recommend taking the time to view all of the floors. My colleagues and I spent time visiting each floor and choosing our favorite artists. Check in was not as smooth as it might have been just because there were so many people there. We were not told where our training was going to be in the morning or that continental breakfast would be included as part of the conference. That information would have been very helpful as we made our plans for the next morning.... Read more

Hotel Murano is conveniently located to downtown Tacoma attractions. We were comfortable walking to restaurants and museums while in town for a wedding. Unfortunately, over the course of a four night stay, we spent time in our room avoiding a growing wet spot on the carpet. Judging from it's location, it stemmed from the air conditioning system. I have been to Tacoma several times on business and always stayed at the chain hotels. Last year I stopped by the Hotel Murano to meet an associate for dinner. I was very impressed with the Hotel and vowed to stay next time I visited. I was not disappointed. The hotel is great and I like the glass artwork which incorporates the local glass museum. Very electric / high energy fleel to the hotel lobby and bar. Highly recommend if you are looking to get away from the chain hotels and live a li... Read more

Have decided not to return next year during our business trip because of poor shower facilities and excessive jackhammer noise from showers in surrounding rooms and our own. It's unfortunate as everything else was fine.

Great place to stay. Friendly and just an overall great experience. The only thing that may be a slight knock is you have to pay for overnight parking while staying. But with the the overall experience as good as it is, that can be overlooked.

the hotel was decent but nothing special for how much you pay. room smelled dingy but was very nice. The staff did not even know when breakfast end after I asked 3 times I was told it closes at 9:30 I get there at 8:50 and it was already being shut down so I paid $200 for a suite to eat a few leftover hard boiled eggs. Overall the staff was friendly but not very concerned about any problems. I was on the 10th floor and couldn't hear people talking on the street

Boutique sometimes means small with sacrifices. Not Hotel Murano! I was on the 22nd floor with amazing views of the water and downtown. Very nice room with nice amenities. Had breakfast at Bite and enjoyed both meals. Location is within walking distance to nightlife and yummy restaurants. Only gave 4 rating because of lack of parking for such a large hotel. Other than that, a perfect visit.

This hotel features a beautiful collection of art glass. In the elevator lobby of each floor there is a featured artist and a piece of their glass artistry. In the lobby and in some hallways are more pieces of artwork in glass. It adds interest to the hotel and makes it unique. Other than that the hotel is fine but not exceptional. As Tacoma is a world center for glass arts, the Murano, occupying the site of a former Sheraton, showcases the medium through presentations by artists, a different one featured on each floor. Instead of soulless prints, there are photographs of each artist at work and examples of the finished product. Large chandeliers and walls of glass in different spaces continue the theme. This is only one aspect of why we love this hotel and will continue to go there when in Tacoma. The restaurant is ex... Read more

The room was nice, service was great, but the shower was cold! It took 10 minutes for the water to get warm enough to be tolerable and when it did warm up it would be warm, burst of hot, cold, warm, hot, etc. if you turned the faucet more than 3/4 of the way the pipes shook and it sounded like you were showering with a generator.

I stayed at the Hotel Murano in Tacoma Washington for 3 nights last week . I could not have had a better stay. The food in the little restaurant was exceptional. There was some confusion on my bill but the manager JAVID ALMANNADOV swiftly solved the problem. Due not consider staying at any other hotel if you're in Tacoma. This place is conveniently located to visit the glass museum and other attractions. I was delighted at what a great visitor site this could be. ROBERT WAYNE MD FACS

A sub par hotel wrapped in a pretty package. The staff was friendly, and the hotel lobby is welcoming. The glass exhibits are nice to look at. However, the internet was not working properly all week. There were days I couldn't connect at all. The lobby shop was closed for days because of Thanksgiving, which shouldn't happen in a full service hotel. The housekeeping was spotty. Some things were not thrown away. And toiletries were never replenished.

The staff couldn't be friendlier, especially the men working on the front door entrance. The art, along with quotes from the artists, on each floor makes for an interesting trip to see who's represented on each floor. We just wish there were more storage for folded clothes, rather than the space partially being taken up by the locked up mini bar. Maybe firm up the mattresses and have some way to secure the pad under the sheet so it wouldn't bunch up and move around.
