I love the Murano - crisp linens, comfy beds, good food and décor is lovely. Make sure you ask for a larger room as the small ones are tiny. The surrounding area in Tacoma is not the best and many homeless if you walk around the downtown area. The waterfront is a nice place with an awesome bike/walk path along the sound. and great restaurants. I would recommend this for a business conference. Great conference rooms and good food. Not great for a family vacation stop - not much for childre... Read more

Hospitality, comfort, cuisine, decor - impeccable. I was part of an adult tap dancing group from Canada that was visiting Tacoma. Our experience with The Murano Hotel was flawless. It was a block away from the convention centre where we performed and provided a clear view of Puget Sound. We were within walking distance of the Museum of Glass and The Tacoma Art Museum.

Was told there was a 'Welcome Package' for package that I booked. Never saw it. 10 minutes after I got to my room some other guests walked in. They had been given same room and key card access. My 'package' was suppose to include breakfast but never received any advise on how to get this. Part of welcome package? Went to Bite for breakfast was advised that I would be able to order and get food in 15 min. After 5 min I had not even got coffee so I got up and left.

Beautiful hotel located in downtown(?) Tacoma. Easily walkable (distance wise, but steep hills) to a number of local restaurants. I stayed for a week for business. Hotel is immaculate, and the rooms are lovely and equipped lots of available plugs and ports for charging electronics. Beyond the beautiful hotel, the staff is amazing, and goes far above and beyond what anyone could expect. I arrived at 1:30 in the morning after delayed flights, and the front desk staff checked me in quickly and ple... Read more

This is my favorite hotel in Tacoma, but my last stay was not the best. The sound of the elevators next to my room kept me up at night. I also upgraded to a Patron floor, and with the higher weekend rates, it was not worth it. The continental breakfast in the business center, was not up to par with the rest of the hotel.

The views from this hotel are spectacular and the ambience is very art deco. The decor is devoted to glassblowing craftsmanship which makes it visually spectacular. On a practical note parking is convenient and for a change this hotel recognizes people travel with many items that need to be charged and it was so refreshing not to have to crawl around trying to find an outlet. Bathrooms have robes and the longing chair in the room with a view of Mount Ranier was a great way to while away the e... Read more

stayed at Hotel Murano on a lengthy business trip. Coming from the east coast and never having been to Tacoma, I was unsure of how my experience would go. I worked with Kelly Thornton, the sales manager, during my booking process and she was absolutely wonderful and very helpful. Not only was the hotel beautiful, clean and located in a walkable area of downtown (UW-Tacoma and great restaurants near by), the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Be sure to view the commissioned glass art on each floor. The guide is in the elevator. If you take a few moments to absorb each, you will know a lot about the glass artists this rwsion is famous for. The glass art theme extends into every public and private space in the Murano, named for the Venician island of glass-blowers.

Having that unfortunate conversation at the front desk in front of everyone around and having to frantically come up with an alternative form of payment to satisfy your policies even through we had the full amount of the original cost of the room for the weekend. We ended up checking in a bit later than we had planned due to a traffic delay in getting into town so probably did not get to experience all of the amenities that were available. Check in was pleasant and we were assigned a nice room on the 20th floor but when we got up to the room, one of the beds had not been completely finished in being made up and some linen was still on the floor. We called right down and they said someone would be right up to check it out - but after a 1/2 hour of waiting... Read more

The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Tacoma, near to museums and several decent restaurants. The bed was very comfortable (the best I've slept on in years), the staff was friendly, and the restaurant, while limited, had several good choices. Beware of Sundays. however, as a lot of places - including the hotel bar - are closed.

Hotel Murano provides top notch service and is always welcoming to us convention delegates. I have stayed the past 3 years and they really try hard to please. This is a stunning cross between a hotel and an art gallery. Glass work is everywhere, and the hotel plays with the light of it in striking fashion. The rooms are a bit eclectic, the decor tending to almost 1960s reds, grays, and whites, with blob lamps that look like lava from a lava lamp. Otherwise, standard hotel appointments. An impressive hotel well located for our needs in Tacoma. The decor was colorful and attractive, themed for the glass history of the city.
