I love the Murano - crisp linens, comfy beds, good food and décor is lovely. Make sure you ask for a larger room as the small ones are tiny. The surrounding area in Tacoma is not the best and many homeless if you walk around the downtown area. The waterfront is a nice place with an awesome bike/walk path along the sound. and great restaurants. I would recommend this for a business conference. Great conference rooms and good food. Hospitality, comfort, cuisine, decor - impeccable. I was part of an adult tap dancing group from Canada that was visiting Tacoma. Our experience with The Murano Hotel was flawless. It was a block away from the convention centre where we performed and provided a clear view of Puget Sound. We were within walking distance of the Museum of Glass and The Tacoma Art Museum.

Was told there was a 'Welcome Package' for package that I booked. Never saw it. 10 minutes after I got to my room some other guests walked in. They had been given same room and key card access. My 'package' was suppose to include breakfast but never received any advise on how to get this. Part of welcome package? Went to Bite for breakfast was advised that I would be able to order and get food in 15 min. After 5 min I had not even got coffee so I got up and left.

Beautiful hotel located in downtown(?) Tacoma. Easily walkable (distance wise, but steep hills) to a number of local restaurants. I stayed for a week for business. Hotel is immaculate, and the rooms are lovely and equipped lots of available plugs and ports for charging electronics. Beyond the beautiful hotel, the staff is amazing, and goes far above and beyond what anyone could expect. This is my favorite hotel in Tacoma, but my last stay was not the best. The sound of the elevators next to my room kept me up at night. I also upgraded to a Patron floor, and with the higher weekend rates, it was not worth it. The continental breakfast in the business center, was not up to par with the rest of the hotel.

The views from this hotel are spectacular and the ambience is very art deco. The decor is devoted to glassblowing craftsmanship which makes it visually spectacular. On a practical note parking is convenient and for a change this hotel recognizes people travel with many items that need to be charged and it was so refreshing not to have to crawl around trying to find an outlet. Bathrooms have robes and the longing chair in the room with a view of Mount Ranier was a great way to while away the e... Read more

Be sure to view the commissioned glass art on each floor. The guide is in the elevator. If you take a few moments to absorb each, you will know a lot about the glass artists this rwsion is famous for. The glass art theme extends into every public and private space in the Murano, named for the Venician island of glass-blowers.

We ended up checking in a bit later than we had planned due to a traffic delay in getting into town so probably did not get to experience all of the amenities that were available. Check in was pleasant and we were assigned a nice room on the 20th floor but when we got up to the room, one of the beds had not been completely finished in being made up and some linen was still on the floor. This is a stunning cross between a hotel and an art gallery. Glass work is everywhere, and the hotel plays with the light of it in striking fashion. We were looking for a place to stay after a Tacoma charity event. This place looked promising. Friendly staff, great location, clean modern hotel. Nice view of Rainer from our room. The continental breakfast was small but good. Downtown Tacoma is completely dead after 5pm. Easy freeway access. Would stay here again for sure.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Murano. The staff ,the location, the room with the view of the city and Mt.Rainier. And especially the decor and the art with artists bio on every floor, excellent. If you love art, Tacoma has the vibe and the Murano is the place to stay.

This is a great hotel. We had a lovely view of the water. We were at a conference and the hotel was very busy. The staff handled the large number of people very well. We loved the different art on each floor and spent lots of time taking it all in.

The parking was easy, staff was great and friendly but left us alone, no issues. The only thing I wished was that the double beds were queens, they are quite narrow! But me and four kids slept just fine, me and the baby in one, two kids in the other and the third camped out on the sofa. It was clean and quiet and the beds were comfortable! No complaints.

The art glass is exquisite! I would recommend taking the time to view all of the floors. My colleagues and I spent time visiting each floor and choosing our favorite artists. Check in was not as smooth as it might have been just because there were so many people there. We were not told where our training was going to be in the morning or that continental breakfast would be included as part of the conference. That information would have been very helpful as we made our plans for the next morning.... Read more

My husband and I opted to stay here for 2 nights rather than paying an arm and a leg in downtown Seattle. We were happy we did! Besides saving a significant amount of money, our stay was extremely pleasant. Check in was a breeze and our room was surprisingly spacious. The bed was so comfortable and we really didn't have anything to complain about other than the $16 self park fee. But I guess that is cheap compared to downtown Seattle's parking fees so we just accepted it. The staff was friendly ... Read more

The hotel is beautiful, and very comfortable. THe staff was amazing and friendly, from check in to check out everyone was dedicated to providing us with a great experience. I would also recommend the in house resteraunt, delious food. With all that said, my favorite part were the beautiful bathrobes waiting for us after a long day. Thank you South Dakota traveler

I stayed for 2 nights. The parking was especially convenient and available. Each floor features a different artist. I was lucky enough to get a view of the water. One can walk to many restaurants and there is a restaurant located on the fourth floor of the hotel. I found my room completely pleasant and comfortable. I loved the desk with the power chargers and facing the view. My room on the 21st floor was very quiet.

I nearly forgot where I was! The hotel was lovely and very comfortable, with an enjoyable art collection. The location is convenient for walking to the main attractions, i. e., convention center, museums, cafes, and waterfront. The restaurant was a great addition, and their waiters were outstanding. There is no better lodging in Tacoma.

This is one of the few hotels that still give excellent service and high quality outside of the crowded and crazy Seattle area. I will share my positive recommendation to everyone I know. It is where you are treated with respect and your needs are priority than anything else. The geographic location is perfect if you are going to mount rainier and only two hour drive to Olympic national park and port Los Angeles if you are going to Victoria . We will definitely come back!

We came in from a long drive, weary and tired. We had issues with our card going through and other minor issues, but they worked with us and were pleasant and kind about it. Overall it was a great stay and I would stay there again. Parking is the only issue that needs to be addressed.

Hotel Murano is conveniently located to downtown Tacoma attractions. We were comfortable walking to restaurants and museums while in town for a wedding. Unfortunately, over the course of a four night stay, we spent time in our room avoiding a growing wet spot on the carpet. Judging from it's location, it stemmed from the air conditioning system. We politely brought it to the attention of the management and nothing was done. We placed towels and a bath mat down the second day and learned to ... Read more

This is my second stay at the Murano. It is an interesting hotel with wonderful glass art that encourages you to explore the local art around Tacoma. Rooms show some wear, but overall very clean and fresh. Room service was fast friendly and reasonable. On site parking is convenient but know there is a nightly parking fee. Great restaurants and sights to see within walking distance.

I planned a three-generation trip to Seattle and our last night was in Tacoma, a bone to myself because I love art glass. Despite what others on this website said about the hotel, that it's nice but the hospitality side is sloppy, I went for it, excited about the beautiful lobby. We checked in at 3 pm, normal check-in time, a pair of grandparents, a pair of parents, and a one-year-old. We needed a room for the one-year-old so he could nap. It took a while but we were given a room on one floor... Read more

This is definitely one of the nicest places in Tacoma. Art on every floor, very good service from professional staff. Very convenient location for urban vacation-type activities and dining. We got the Groupon deal months ago. Asked the day before if we could defer a few weeks due to onset of bronchitis. They didn't have us registered at all, yet we had a printout of the reservation. Later we found out they had us no-showed two months earlier on their books. No one was willing to help us de... Read more

I stay here often for work, and so my husband and I decided to try it out for a weekend vacation. What I found is that it's great for work travel, but didn't have the vacation feel we were looking for. To be fair, it largely depends on the room you get. However, there isn't a lot to do in Downtown Tacoma and my husband was not impressed with the location. Another reviewer stated it absolutely perfectly which is that although Hotel Murano is trying its best via modern hip lobby and bar decor and furnishings, original artwork, and spiritual pet menus, pillow menus, etc. in your room, to imitate the quality and the quirkiness of a downtown boutique Seattle hotel, they sadly disappoint, particularly so when paying $250+ for a patron level room. Examples: 1. I had no access to the minibar as I was not informed by the check-in staff that I had to a... Read more
