I was here for 5 day conference and was disappointed there was no hot tub. Sometimes after a long day you want to relax in the hot tub. I did not realize there wasn't one here. I am also disappointed to pay for parking, I've never paid for parking at a hotel. In fact in February u stayed at a holiday inn at Lincoln city and did not pay for parking. I will not stay here again :(

Holiday Inn is in the old part of Tacoma which has gone through renovation. Easy access on and off I5. Hotel staff were very friendly. Rooms were clean and had adequate space. Breakfast was include and not to bad. Parking was $7. Hotel is close to the Federal Court house and UW Tacoma extension. Easy walk to several small restaurants and Starbucks. Would stay here again if the opportunity arises.

Needed to be in Seattle late in the evening. Stayed here rather than driving back to Portland. Great location. Clean comfortable rooms. Easy access to The 5. Great generous breakfast. Beautiful lobby and reception area. Pool and jacuzzi on sight, although we didn't use them.

Consistent always - safe, secure and sanitary with in-room free wifi and dependable cable TV. The all you can eat complementary breakfast provides a great start to the day. The only downside is that there are no convince stores and few restaurants in immediate area.

Perfect location for downtown. Walking distance to so many attractions and restaurants! Superb service with lots of personal attention to detail. Great breakfast with lots of choices. Large suite, comfy beds, great shower-lots of room!

Good hotel. Big comfortable rooms with all you need. Massive difference in quality of view depending which side you get (Mount Rainier and Tacoma waterfront one side, a factory and car park the other. I was in the back which was disappointing). Breakfast was average, but it's included and plenty to go round. Pool was good. Very friendly and helpful staff.

We stayed here for a weekend and really enjoyed it. The rooms are spacious and nice for the price. The staff was friendly and we were always greeted by them. My only qualm was sleeping. We had the room by the guest laundry and it was noisy at night. On our last night the bill was shoved under our door at 3:32am. I know this is standard practice for customers also for convenience, but it was shoved so forcefully under the door that it slid across the tile floor and hit the kitchenette waking me a... Read more

I stayed one night at the HIX Tacoma Downtown with my kids. We were dropping one off at a summer camp in Tacoma at the University of Puget Sound. My main concerns were location (safe, easy to find, close to destination), cleanliness, price and pool. We always try to find a hotel with a nice pool for the kids. Location was good - quiet neighbourhood next to University of Washington campus. Easy walk to Rock Pizza for dinner, and the Glass Bridge. A few museums and historical buildings in the are... Location provides easy access to I-705 and I-5, which is handy for getting around. Staff is wonderful and very helpful. We asked for a room with a view, and Mt. Rainier was right there. Free breakfast is excellent. On-site parking is $7/day, but free street parking is available if you arrive after work hours.

I had a four day business trip in Tacoma and booked into this hotel. I was very pleased with the accommodations! The room was clean and large enough to be comfortable for staying there for four days. I slept well and the temperature of the room was perfect! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again if I am traveling back to this area. I also liked the location - Tacoma can be sketchy and this hotel is right across the street from UW's Tacoma campus. ... Read more

This was a nice hotel. Walking distance to downtown, the Glass museum and some good pubs and restaurants. Very clean and quiet. We had no linen for a the couch sleeper. Called down to the desk and in 10 minutes, staff brought what we needed. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Did I mention the place was clean. And furnishings were up to date. Great place.

Our first stay here. The front desk was extremely welcoming, and provided use with a list of restaurants without even asking for it. Our room was very clean, and the bed supportive and comfortable . We had a king suite which was very roomy with a couch, chair, desk, and small dining table. The fitness room is well equipped, but located on the 4th floor at the end of the hall. The pool is ok, but the deep end is only 4.5 ft deep. The dining area is nicely equipped, and the breakfast is standard HIX... Read more

Clean and comfortable. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Breakfast was surprisingly plentiful. It didn't look like there was much until you took a closer look. Staff utilized the small space effectively. Would stay again

I have had both good and bad experiences with Holiday Inns in the recent past. This far exceeded my expectations -- very welcoming, modern suite. The property is only about 2.5 years old so that helps. A short walk away is the restaurant/shopping district of Pacific Avenue -- some wonderful restaurants to eat at. The breakfast buffet has everything from cereals to eggs, from waffles to bacon and is offered in a large dining area.

The hotel is in a bad part of town. I checked into my room and it is not early as nice as most Holiday Inn Express. The breakfast was one of the worst that I have ever eaten at a hotel. They did have a little store to purchase items. The service was good and they were very nice.

Easy access to/from the freeway. New, clean room with amenities. Secure parking. I stayed here with my cousin the night before visiting Mt. Rainier. Lots of restaurants nearby as well as on the waterfront.

Stayed here for two nights to attend an event at the convention center, which was only a short 7-8 minute walk directly through the UW Tacoma campus. That said, while the location is convenient, is is also not situated in a great area of town - it is surrounded in the other directions by abandoned buildings. The hotel itself is nothing to write home about, either good or bad - basic rooms, clean facilities, friendly staff, but uncomfortable pillows and a mediocre breakfast that included a select... We are used to staying at the Murano. Unfortunately, they were booked! We are accustomed to having Bellman to assist in our belongings and to valet our car. We also were not aware that the property didn't have a restaurant! As the pictures of the property depicted. The value was horrible compared to the Murano that would have charged $10 more a night!

My family and I stayed here a few months ago for 4 nights. We were in town for my sister funeral a very hard time for us. From the phone call with the GM for room arrangement prior to check in, the front desk staff smiles, great service at breakfast and the cleanliness of the rooms from the housekeeping staff. It made being there comfortable. Thank you for a lovely stay!

I booked the Holiday Inn Express in downtown Tacoma for a short weekend trip. The Murano and Marriott were fully booked up so ended up here. The hotel was nice enough and clean and free breakfast was edible with several items to choose from. I had to walked across the University to find a coffee shop with decent coffee. It is on the edge of downtown and is not really convenient to walk to many places, however I did walk to the Pacific Grill for dinner. I had a rental vehicle and there was f... Read more

Booked a room here for a one night stay while we were in town for a wedding. Very friendly staff with easy check in and check out. We enjoyed the late check out and breakfast promotion (super cool pancake maker!). Our room was very clean and we enjoyed our stay. We parked our car in the hotel garage and appreciated the ease of access and "security". It was also very clean like the rest of the property. I did not mind paying the extra $7. The "touch pad" card reader system is also so much bet... Read more

Great room , top floor which I like , don't get an odd numbered room though , the view is of the backside of a bar which used to be a warehouse! Another minus , 7 dollars to park in the hotel owned garage (or you can park outside , in Tacoma's old warehouse district!) I won't advise this option , the parking outside ... Saw some people had though .. Next little minus , the drain grate in the shower was loose and stuck to my foot when showering , pulled right up out of the drain! Check in and out... Read more

I have stayed at this hotel twice when attending a concert at the Tacoma Dome. The most recent was 10/1/16 and both times it was an excellent place to stay. It's within walking distance to the Tacoma Dome and less than $5 taking an Uber to; however, prices from may be higher due to more demand (as we were told by an Uber driver). You have to have a room key to access the private parking, which has very tight parking spots but is great for security. There are some angled side street parking s... Read more
