The Alexis in Seattle is wonderful. The hotel is nicely appointed and within walking distance of all the fun sights of downtown, including the waterfront and Pike Place Market. Our recent visit was our second time, and the hotel did not disappoint. The room we stayed in was beautiful and spacious with a very comfortable bed; the front desk staff and valets were very courteous and helpful; and our breakfast in the adjoining restaurant was tops, We will definitely stay here again.

I have been to Kimpton properties that I prefer to this location. Pros: The hotel is convenient to most downtown sights, everything is walkable. Staff is effective and helpful. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Cons: The bathrooms are a little run down and dark. No airport shuttle. Room service menu is limited and very expensive. Overall pleasant stay, but lacking any wow factor.

We loved this location. Walking distance to Safeco and Qwest Fields ... as well as the Market and all of downtown (AND, since it is on First St., you don't have to hike up the whole hill to 4th and 5th - where most of the hotels are). If you are not a Kimpton rewards member, sign up! You get free Wi-Fi, a "raid the bar" credit good for $20 worth of mini-bar indulgences (or drinks at the regular bar). They also offer lots of great packages to members. On this trip, we got free valet parking ... Read more

I had a one day court appearance at the King County Courthouse, and so needed to pick a hotel nearby. I had stayed at The Alexis once before, and was fairly pleased with my experience. The Alexis is a nice, boutique-type hotel, with tastefully done (if not eclectic) rooms that offer most (not all) of the amenities one would expect at a four star property. My room was large, well outfitted and perfectly accommodating. The staff's performance was absolutely sterling. You could tell that they re... Read more

Alexis Hotel was a great place to stay. Close to all things downtown like Art Museum, Benaroya Hall, Pike Place Market, and the water. 2-3 blocks from University light rail stop, so you don't need a car for a decent Seattle visit. I had business at the Federal Building and across the street at Hotel 1000, both of which were about 2 min away. Dinner/lunch options also within minutes.

I thought the hotel was located pretty centrally to a lot of the tourist attractions. It is close enough to Pike Place as well as the waterfront (Aquarium). It is walkable to Space Needle/Chihuly but you can also take some public transportation. The hotel room we had (room 442) was quite spacious. Despite having 2 double beds, our hotel had a lot of extra space as well as a sitting area which was great. The hotel has extra perks of free coffee in the lobby in the morning (Starbucks of cour... This hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to many attractions. Public transport is everywhere and is cheap to use. The hotel has a daily happy hour with free drinks and canopies which is very welcome after a day of sightseeing. The room we had was quiet but a bit cramped, not much room for 2 large suitcases and hand luggage. The hotel is nicely furnished and staff friendly. Would stay there again.

Friendly quick checkin. Delighted to have been upgraded to a suite. Room was amazing. More like a flat. Beautiful and huge. Brought an extra fold down bed for us as the suite couldn't accommodate a twin. Bedroom was lovely and bed so comfy. Bathroom was great with huge jacuzzi bath. This hotel is great. The rooms are super comfortable, the staff is exceptionally helpful and kind and go out of their way to make your stay special. Room: The room was very spacious, bright, and comfortable. It had very high ceilings and a lot of natural light. Overall fine stay, Hotel is well situated to pike market, piers, ferries, restaurants, stadiums etc. Stayed in a spa suite, large bathroom with deep jetted tub, and separate shower. Wifi is serviceable and free with kimpton rewards membership (also free) In living area was bed and pullout couch. Not a typical suite with separate sitting and sleeping areas. Rooms were quiet, bed firm. No nightly turn down service only once per day housekeeping. Had a food credit and a raid the bar credit which w... Read more

Loved the service. We were able to check in early and head out for lunch. We were staying here to attend a Mariners game later in the evening and the location of this hotel is perfect for that...took a nice 20 minute stroll to the stadium. We ordered room service for breakfast the next morning which was very good and piping hot on arrival. Overall I only have two small complaints. First...the size of the tub in the bathroom is only for 1 small person. It would be nice to have a tub large enough ... Read more

We visited Seattle for a weekend back in April to celebrate my fiancé's birthday and booked a Spa Suite at Alexis. The hotel itself is located in a prime location, walking distance to almost everything. Room is spacious and well-equipped. Bookstore Café offers delicious food and services. Why only 3 stars? Here's why: -We were looking forward to have a Jacuzzi soak after a full day of walking but we found couple pieces of body hair in the tub. We were disgusted and only felt comfortable enou... First trip to Seattle on business. A colleague suggested staying in Pioneer Square. The hotel has a writer's theme and the rooms are decorated as such. It's a quaint hotel, different than my usual business travel and typical stay. I'm not a big fan of the way the bathroom is situated, it has an odd shape. Thus far the staff have been friendly and helpful.

Stayed here at the beginning and the end of a road trip. Each room we had was different, from a quiet back room which was a conventional shape to a quirky corner room which was U shaped and a bay view too. Staff were friendly and helpful with our needs, our visits and our dining reservations. Even the door men seemed to remember you and tried to help as much as possible. The evening management aperitif was also welcome. Watch out for the valet parking pull up. It is normally on First Ave b... Read more

The only reason why I'm giving this hotel a 3 is because if you happen to be unlucky enough to get stuck with a room on the 1st Avenue side of the place it is unbelievably loud! The street noise is ridiculous. Morning traffic starts at about 5 am & that's when you stop sleeping. Otherwise, the place was great- awesome staff, good location to downtown & tourist things & not in a bad part of town. We walked back to the hotel pretty late & felt comfortable doing that.

Stayed for two new nights...what a great location ..Pike Market easy walk, a block to the Art Institute. We had a need to drive a couple of places and it was so easy to get our car, get directions from Chris and the Valet folks to avoid bad traffic. Mark at the front desk became like our best friend!! Great place to stay. Seattle is expensive - but felt like we got our money's worth!!

I have been staying at the Alexis for over 15 years and absolutely love it. I will always pay a little extra for the quality and central location. I valet my car when I get there and don't drive again until my way out of town. Easy walk to Pike Place and shopping centers and the best restaurants in town. A must stay for a weekend getaway.

Quality hotel in an ideal location. We arrived around 9pm after travelling for around 24 hours from the UK ahead of a cruise the following day. We received a warm welcome and given the keys to a lovely double room at the front of the hotel. Our first stop after dropping the bags off was the bar restaurant for something to eat. We had booked an early lunch at the Space Needle the following day so didn't have breakfast at the hotel but took advantage of the free Starbuck's coffee and tea in th... Read more

This hotel was beautiful but the staff at the front desk were a huge disappointment. I stayed there for 3 nights with my husband for a quick getaway ($500 per night) and when we checked in, the front desk failed to mention any of the great offers included with our purchase. We wanted a hotel in walking distance of downtown Seattle and the Alexis was highly recommended by other Trip Advisor members. Our room was spacious, quiet, comfortable and convenient to the Pike Place Market, the Seattle Art Museum, and to the stores we wanted to visit. We used the Bookstore restaurant on three occasions; for a late night beverage, for late night reading when one of our family went to sleep early, and for breakfast (order bacon if you like it--it was really good.) Since we booked on a special, they put us in a room that looked like a closet with a full brick wall the only view a foot outside the window--very claustrophobic. When we asked to move, they instead put us in the room adjacent to the hotel ductwork, which rattled and roared all night. No sleep at this hotel! Be careful if you book a special because they sure know how to stick you in a room no one would want!

Huge bedroom/sitting area with over sized bathroom - walk in shower and spa bath. Great view over the waterfront and the surrounding area. If you want a dated hotel, worn in many parts and catering to the millennial demo, this may be your place. It's got a great location just a few blocks from Pike Place and easy to grab an Uber to most locations downtown if you opt not to walk. The fitness center occupies two rooms on two different floors which is odd. It's got great weights and flexibility equipment, but might be a bit light on the cardio. The rooms are worn down a bit with dirty desks, dusty curtains and older bathrooms. Th... Read more

Chic, trendy, spacious gorgeous rooms, great restaurant, dog friendly hotel right where you want to be in Seattle! I could have been happy living inside my room which was a suite. I've had apartments smaller than that 'room'. Hotel staff are really kind and helpful and you really will have to work hard to find something to dislike about this absolute gem of a hotel. Room was great. Location was great. But best of all, the people we had to deal with were great. Was part of the wonderful time we had. I did and will again thank them for being so kind. This hotel had everything we needed and we especially appreciated the blackout curtains. Located close to Pike Market and Target. Across from the museum and close to good food. Usually wherever there is a Kimpton hotel, I am staying in it. I love the trendy vibe that most Kimpton hotels offer, and the guest service is usually above and beyond. This hotel I found to be a bit of an anomaly based on the Kimpton standard. The quality of the room was okay, but the bathrooms are a bit dated and the ergonomics of the fixtures were less than ideal. There were two wall timers in the bathroom and they both seem to operate some sort of exhaust fan but since they weren't labeled, it's hard to know for sure which was what.
