I was unexpected surprised by the service and friendliness of the staff at the Motif Seattle. We were upgraded by Kori to a 20th floor water view upon arrival. The Frolik bar was neat to visit, but more of a younger crowd. Food great there. Only thing I could suggest would be softer pillows! I did find one out of the many on the bed (and I did take the spare out of the closet)to suit my needs, but I'm fussy when it comes to that. So hard to meet everyone's needs! A great place to visit! The room had all things I needed... coffee, bottled water, internet, iron and board. Entire hotel was clean and quiet. The staff was very professional... I would say perfect except for one disheveled bellhop. Did not need a car because of the central location in the city... very convenient for touristy activities. Floor 4 where Frol!c (a popular lounge) is was very noisy, crowded, young, and drunken, as was the elevator to that floor. I spent $15/day extra for the 18th floor and a view of the... Read more

I had already researched this hotel and the area prior to booking. Check in was exceptional as we were greeted with wine as we waited. Clerk advised our room was not ready even though it was after 4 p.m. but then suggested an upgrade for $10 extra a night to be in a king room. I asked her why we would be charged for an upgrade when the room not being ready was inconveniencing us? she said that was the best she could do or put us in a 2 queen bed room for the same price. I told her I did not need... Read more

We had a very nice stay at Motif Seattle. We stayed in one of their premium suites with a full view of Puget Sound. The room itself was very nice. There was some definite wear and tear and could use an update. The wear and tear extended throughout the hotel. The hotel (and the room) were mostly very clean, but looked like it could use new paint, new carpeting, new fixtures, and some window-washing. It just felt slightly dingy. Still, overall, it was very clean, and the view was gorgeous (... Read more

The reason we chose this hotel was because of the price and the location. Comparable hotels in the same area are significantly more expensive - Motif is great value for the money. The location is excellent - easy to walk to Safeco Field, Pike Place, the waterfront, restaurants and shops. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the service is excellent. We had breakfast at the restaurant a couple times and enjoyed it. Beware the free wine tasting, there is a reason it is free (poor quality wine!... Read more

Contemporary, hip hotel in heart of downtown Seattle. Great location. Attentive staff. Keurig with Starbucks coffee in room and two complimentary water bottles per day. The room was very small to pay the same price as a larger hotel room. The fridge didn't seem to work very well as it was barely cold. I had trouble getting on the wifi. Someone removed an item of clothing from my room while I was gone and customer service did not address this when I told them. Staff was friendly, room was clean, and quiet. The location is perfect for accessing shopping and dining on foot. Our experience at the restaurant was less than desirable. The server seemed inconvenienced and inattentive. Maybe because we were a family and not a younger crowd. Witch they seem to cater to. So we chose to eat elsewhere. This is a trendy hotel in the fleet of "destination" inns and hotels. It is slick, modern clean and opulent, compared to many less expensive places. The rooms are large and well furnished. First, let me say that I grew up in the hotel business, so I'm pretty picky about which hotels I'll stay in, and what I expect from them. This is my third time staying here, and it's the only hotel in Seattle I'll go to. From the minute you walk in, your greeted by a friendly (but not over the top) person, who is always very knowledgeable about not only the hotel, but the city itself. The rooms are clean, and have the most amazing views. I love this hotel, the safety I feel when staying there, a... Read more

Really pleasant place in a great location. Great, modern look and feel and of the room, bathroom and hallways. Bathroom amenities are futuristic and look cool. I was also very pleased that the wi-fi does not require special passwords and logging in. The restaurant on the 5th floor, Frolick is also very nice. Also, a neat Keurig coffee maker and coffee mugs were quite nice. I do think that the rooms can use more outlets and the pillows felt a bit too soft and thick. In the bathroom, running water... We landed here in the midst of Seattle to connect with family before we went off to Alaska on a cruise of the inside passage. It as perfect for us in many ways in the heart of things. They arrived before us and explored. After the trip we returned, we again became tourists, and ventured on to the coast of Washington. We felt welcomed and enjoyed the restaurant, Frolic, on two different occasions. But the restaurants of Seattle beckoned to us too from this very central location.

It wouldn't be fair to judge the hotel for how the US is organized. Still, to pay different prizes than advertised (amongst others taxes come on top) is a huge annoyance upon checkout. It's unacceptable that we had to navigate the taxi to our destinations (well known parks in the city). Flat rate prizes turned out to... Read more
