Stayed here as a weekend getaway last weekend (late January) and it was a great place with which to explore Port Angeles and the Olympic Peninsula - we loved the town's proximity to the mountains (and Hurricane Ridge!). And it was really great being so close to "downtown" Port Angeles- it was only 3 or 4 blocks from the Motel :) The staff were all incredibly attentive and were busy preparing the motel for the busy season! We had a great time.

Although the internet really needs to be bumped up, the overall working of the place was great! The room was big and clean and everything worked as expected. The staff was very friendly and even waited up for us to arrive! (There was a terrible ice storm in Portland that kept us much longer than originally planned). Great weekly rates and very clean rooms.

Definitely on the non-frills side of things. The room was perfectly fine in terms of size, though not particularly lovely. Fine for an evening, but not a magical place for a longer term stay. The neighborhood seems fine as well, though not entirely near the more "hopping" downtown strip. Proprietor was quite friendly. Didn't love the Jesus-y propaganda in the room and lobby, but no active proselytization so no real complaint there.

If you want a very clean smokefree hotel, this place fits the bill. The beds were fairly comfy. If you don't want to be hassled by the front desk for all the things you did "wrong", don't stay here. 1st offense: We used to reserve which costs them money (um...then don't have as an option); 2nd offense: we didn't call that morning to say we are bringing a dog (right - because we called to confirm that months before right after reserving); We were then told we didnt s... We had the 4:00 ferry from Victoria so we had to stay in Port Angeles that night. I used Trip Advisor to look at the diiferent places available. They had a four rating while most of the other places were stuck below that. The place was clean with fresh paint and the owners were proud of their Trip Advisor rating and had it posted in the lobby. There is no coffee maker of hair dryer in the room, but fresh coffee was available in the morning with a light snack laid out. Nice people and the roo... Read more

For a "budget motel," this facility is clean, comfortable, has a good shower, has parking in front of rooms, has a very helpful attendant (things to see, where to eat, provided local map), and was a great value.

Check in was quick and the owners friendly. When we checked in we were offered a choice of a soft bed or firm. Since the previous night was spent on a too soft mattress, we opted for firm and hoped we didn't make a wrong choice. The mattress was more firm than we would have liked but it was fine for two nights. We stayed in Room 16 which was at the top of the stairs. There was a room between us and the street so the owner thought noise would not be a problem. However, seagulls are early riser sc... Read more

I've reviewed the Royal Victorian before. Over the years I have seen gradual upgrading of the rooms. I don't understand the reviews about the rooms being awful and dirty; I have always found them to be clean and fairly need. The most recent stay had fridge and microwave, and the rooms seem to all have AC (they didn't some years ago). It is noisy from the street. I'm curious how it compares to say Days Inn which has some rooms that are on the back side away from the street - but still you c... Read more

Very basic furnishings and decor. Clean. Comfy bed. Pricey at $159+tax per night, but we stayed the first week in August, and they make all their money in July & August. In searching on-line, it did not seem like there was a better option. They did throw in a cot, and it was big enough for 5 people, and other hotels sometimes won't let you add a 5th person or charge you a lot more for a suite. Road noisy, but all the hotels seem to be on the main road. Man at desk was super helpful with nature s... Read more

If you're looking for a no frills motel this is the place. Stayed once and will not be back!! Same amount of money you can stay at The Days Inn just down the road. Nicer, cleaner and a very good continental breakfast!!
