Very reasonable, service is first class. Kc, the manager is an angel. Very gracious and welcoming. Enjoyed my stay and I'm planning a longer stay next year. Highly recommended, feels like home. You can find more luxurious accommodations, but the people are what's important to me

We spent just one night here before taking the ferry to Victoria. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and perfect for a quick overnight trip but would have been lovely for several nights as well! Highly recommend!

We stayed overnight here while in transit to Vancouver Island. The motel is easy to find with plenty of parking and an insecure internet connection. It is a motel, nothing more and nothing less. We stayed in a "super" queen room, which is larger than a "standard" queen room. The room was indeed comfortably large, and as indicated in my title, clean enough. But that was it. The TV is an old flat screen model. There was no coffee maker in the room, although one was available from the office on ... Read more

Was nice clean and very friendly! The manager was a sweetheart! She was friendly and wanted to make sure we saw all the sights and Informed of the areas around us! AC was ok! It was very hot out when we stayed. As far as inexpensive hotels in the area it was very nice!

We stayed at the Royal Victorian to visit Vancouver Island and the Olympic National Park. The room was clean and nicely furnished, including a microwave, fridge, and table. It was on the upper end of the motels we have stayed in, but nothing too extraordinary. What really blew us away was the owner Kacy though. Kacy was extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our whole stay. On the day we arrived, we learned that Kacy prepares a home-cooked dinner for all of her guests at the motel once eve... Read more

My wife and I stayed at the Royal Victorian for one night on June 11; the staff was very friendly, and the room was clean, in very nice updated condition, and very comfortable. The beds provided both of us with a very restful nights sleep. We are very satisfied and would recommend this motel to anyone who comes to Port Angeles, and it is very close to the ferry terminal. While in Port Angeles my husband and I needed a place to stay for one night. We came across this motel and decided to check it out. The outside is very colorful and well kept. The parking lot was clean. We were met in the office by the owner. What a delightful happy person. She provided us with info on a place to eat within walking distance. We went to our room on the second floor. The room was very large and very clean. We had a very comfortable king size bed. The bathroom was also la... Read more

The Royal Victorian Motel was a wonderful place to stay! It was very close to good restaurants in town. The building and rooms were kept up very nicely. They were super friendly and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our trip! I would certainly recommend staying here!

The room was very clean, the bed mattresses were new and very comfortable. The owner suggested that we change from a room near the front of the hotel close to the road to one over the office because it was quieter. She was right, it was very quiet and comfortable.

We needed a place for a night, and looking for something in a pinch. We were not looking for fancy and figured this would do. It exceeded our expectations, this was a great value, clean and friendly. Apparently I need two hundred words, so blah blah blah blah blah

After a great day in Olympic National Park, we arrived at the Royal Victorian Motel. Located in the center of town, we initially thought traffic noise might be an issue but it wasn't. Our innkeeper was a very personable lady and gave great information about the area and even told us to take an upstairs room because they'd just changed all of the mattresses. (Downstairs mattress changes are coming next week.) The owners obviously care a great deal about their business as the place is spotless... Read more

Nice Motel with a very friendly owner. We got a lot of information for tours around Olympic Nationalpark and surrounding as well as a big Lunchbox for the day. The room was clean and comfortable. We can definately recommend to stay in the Motel.

Enjoyed my time in Port Angeles. Hope to go back one day soon. Very pretty scenery all around. Nice to walk a few blocks around the hotel. Really cool town. Beautiful views. Room was clean. Needs updating. The staff was very friendly and took care of problems right away. Informative about the area.

I'm giving this 2 stars only because the owner was very sweet and helpful.... But that's it. We needed a room for 1 night on our road trip down the 101 to San Fransisco, we stayed in all "mom and pop" motels along the way, so I'm not picky and know exactly what to expect. The rooms are extremely outdated, no outdated is not the word, I don't mind "outdated" it was more like dumpster diving accommodations. Ughhh if I paid $60 for the room I wouldn't complain but for $120 it was terrible. I would ... Read more

This motel was a very good price for the room and service. The lady who checked us in was the nicest motel clerk I've every met. The spot was good for our ferry ride to Victoria BC and it was in a pretty nice neighborhood.

Large room with a comfortable bed. Older property that is taken care of fairly well, that is being updated little by little. Ours had a brand new flat screen TV. Room was very clean. Bananas and muffins were provided in the morning. Owner was very friendly, giving tips on restaurants and things to do in the area. Sharing personal photos of attractions.

I'm mystified by the many enthusiastic reviews of this place. I'll echo another recent reviewer in that my two stars are based solely on the friendliness of the owners. Like that reviewer stated, we know what to expect from "mom & pop motels". Our standards (especially in Port Angeles, which is lacking where lodging is concerned) aren't high from a place like this. But a motel can be minimalist and outdated without being downright decrepit and dirty. Honestly, this place is the latter. Because o... Read more

I read a lot of reviews about the Royal Victorian and other places in Port Angeles and wasn't really expecting a lot. It looked a little "scary" to us driving up, but we checked in anyway. As numerous reviewers have mentioned, the lady who checked us in was so nice and gave tons of tips for things to do in the area. She was the best part of the hotel. I can't say I saw mold, but it did have a rundown appearance that I wasn't terribly comfortable with. The room was big and the bathroom was huge (... Read more

The owners of this property are extremely nice and go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable. I had a very large room with a nice, comfortable king sized bed. Room was clean and quiet. I didn't participate in the breakfast, but upon check out they insisted that I take a few bottles of water for the road because it was so hot out. While I normally stay at hotel chains, I was completely satisfied with my stay here and would stay again in the future.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The property I chose because of T.A. reviews. Was not at all what I expected. We ended up paying for the 1 of 2 nights we booked and went to another lodge for the 2 nights instead. We where not willing to spend even one night there. Expectations I guess?

We went to Port Angeles on business and someone else booked this motel for us. We went into the very small office and it appeared dingy at best. We were told the rooms doors were open to allow fresh air in. When we entered the room, it was obvious the rooms were not clean had a terrible odor and the bedspreads had not bed replace in a very long time. The curtains were dirty as was the carpet. For the first time ever, we checked out and went on a search for something clean that didn't smell.... Read more

First of all, the people staffing are very nice and helpful. There appears to be new ownership or at least plans for updating the facility. New paint, and updating the look. It will be better upon completion I'm sure. That being said, it was clean, the room was spacious, and it was quiet. There is no in room coffee maker, which I missed. When the shower gets redone, and the curtains replaced, it will be easier to do a proper rating. All all, it was an average motel, fairly priced, convenient loc... Read more

My son and I loved our stay here. We don't usually stay in motels but from all the pictures and reviews on other sites I decided to try it. There was nothing fancy about the motel but, the rooms were clean, showers were hot, and the beds slept great. When we checked in the lady at the front desk was so helpful. We haven't traveled this area before so she gave us a map and pointed out places to go and what the best order was to make sure we saw the most during our short stay. If and when we get ... Read more

Buyer beware! NO ONE would consider this anything but nasty, moldy, dirty and gross. Stay away. The carpet is, ugh, sticky. The tub is etched in mold. The floor around the tub is peeling, revealing a gross layer of black mold. Bad pillow, noisy traffic, and the only sign of anything Victorian is in the name.

As has been noted throughout here, the place is clean and the staff friendly. It's a nice mid-range place to stay. The problems we observed are many but all are minor. For example, the rooms are starkly bland. A Hotel Impossible style makeover would do wonders here. The walls are bare except for two dollar store still lifes. The curtains are indeed tearing on the blackout side. The brass wall fixture in the bathroom is rusted and has two different style bulbs and an empty socket. There i... Read more

If you're looking for a no frills motel this is the place. Stayed once and will not be back!! Same amount of money you can stay at The Days Inn just down the road. Nicer, cleaner and a very good continental breakfast!!

Very basic furnishings and decor. Clean. Comfy bed. Pricey at $159+tax per night, but we stayed the first week in August, and they make all their money in July & August. In searching on-line, it did not seem like there was a better option. They did throw in a cot, and it was big enough for 5 people, and other hotels sometimes won't let you add a 5th person or charge you a lot more for a suite. Road noisy, but all the hotels seem to be on the main road. Man at desk was super helpful with nature s... Read more

I've reviewed the Royal Victorian before. Over the years I have seen gradual upgrading of the rooms. I don't understand the reviews about the rooms being awful and dirty; I have always found them to be clean and fairly need. The most recent stay had fridge and microwave, and the rooms seem to all have AC (they didn't some years ago). It is noisy from the street. I'm curious how it compares to say Days Inn which has some rooms that are on the back side away from the street - but still you c... Read more

Check in was quick and the owners friendly. When we checked in we were offered a choice of a soft bed or firm. Since the previous night was spent on a too soft mattress, we opted for firm and hoped we didn't make a wrong choice. The mattress was more firm than we would have liked but it was fine for two nights. We stayed in Room 16 which was at the top of the stairs. There was a room between us and the street so the owner thought noise would not be a problem. However, seagulls are early riser sc... Read more

We had the 4:00 ferry from Victoria so we had to stay in Port Angeles that night. I used Trip Advisor to look at the diiferent places available. They had a four rating while most of the other places were stuck below that. The place was clean with fresh paint and the owners were proud of their Trip Advisor rating and had it posted in the lobby. There is no coffee maker of hair dryer in the room, but fresh coffee was available in the morning with a light snack laid out. Nice people and the roo... Read more

If you want a very clean smokefree hotel, this place fits the bill. The beds were fairly comfy. If you don't want to be hassled by the front desk for all the things you did "wrong", don't stay here. 1st offense: We used booking.com to reserve which costs them money (um...then don't have booking.com as an option); 2nd offense: we didn't call that morning to say we are bringing a dog (right - because we called to confirm that months before right after reserving); We were then told we didnt s... Definitely on the non-frills side of things. The room was perfectly fine in terms of size, though not particularly lovely. Fine for an evening, but not a magical place for a longer term stay. The neighborhood seems fine as well, though not entirely near the more "hopping" downtown strip. Proprietor was quite friendly. Didn't love the Jesus-y propaganda in the room and lobby, but no active proselytization so no real complaint there.
