We happened upon this little gem of a hotel last November, and decided to visit again last weekend. It really has an historic vibe, but the rooms have just about all the modern amenities one might expect in a much more luxurious hotel in downtown Portland, with the exception of room service. Being an historic hotel, the rooms are on the small side, but they are clean and well-appointed. We were in Room 6 (both times), which has a very comfortable queen bed, and we slept quite well. This quaint beautifully restored property was a delightful place to stay. The rooms were so nicely done and the service was impeccable. Sneaking across the hall to the wonderful shower was quite exhilarating! I won't ever stay anywhere else in the Vancouver/Camas, WA area!

The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. My room is small but clean and comfortable. Bath is down the hall and coffee maker in the room. I have stayed there numerous times and I have always enjoyed it. A great coffee shop is across the street and a full service coffee shop is just down the block.

I read some of the bad reviews here and after staying, I have to say-there must have been great improvements because when my partner and I stayed last week (5/19/2016) we LOVED it, and we are very picky people. I can't point out one thing wrong with it other than it maybe being inconvenient having to share a restroom, but we have paid about the same price to stay in national parks without any of the variety of amenities or a restroom and cozy setting this hotel provides and we have both lived wi... We spent two nights at the Camas Hotel in celebration of our anniversary. It was perfect,we could not have asked for better. Not only is the hotel clean and well appointed, but the surrounding area is beautifully landscaped and the 4th Ave shops are fun to poke about in. We especially liked the Camas Antique mall (great prices). Later we used our complimentary passes to see a movie at the historic Liberty Theater.

We stayed here on our last night of a road-trip in Oregon and chose this place as it's really close to Portland airport and we had an early flight out. The hotel is very pretty and the rooms are lovely. We had a whirlpool bath which was nice. Left too early so don't know what the breakfast was like. Not very cheap hotel. Very friendly staff. Free parking a couple of blocks away.

We stayed two nights in this hotel; the staff was extremely friendly and professional, and the room was spotless. The room wasn't exactly spacious...the queen bed pretty much filled it. The walls are unfortunately thin, which caused sleeping problems both nights. As noted in other reviews, the neighborhood is nice with good eateries nearby.

The hotel is well placed in a quaint area. It is quite lovely. I stayed there for 4 days on a room with shared bathroom. The room is small but comfortable enough although the walls and floors makes noise. The bathroom is decent and no line. I liked that they have a laundry area. It helps for dirty clothes from hikes and other outdoor activities. There is also a kitchen area that is always open for anyone to use for cooking and such. the hotel is an older remodeled hotel that is done very nicely. The breakfast room was very cute and well decorated, bright and cheery, the bed was soft and comfy. the street out front is cute and fun to walk down, with a nice restaurant right next door that is very popular. We had a queen room with private bathroom. I'd say the only downside is that the room is small. There is no seating area to speak of, and certainly not for two people. Step into a little bit of Europe in this charming, 3-story hotel in bucolic downtown Camas. Find plenty of free, safe parking on the street out front or on the side of the hotel, set between restaurants and shops along a shady, tree-lined street. After checking in, your lodging is found on level 2 or 3 of the hotel, no lift. You can get an assist to bring your bags up the stairs if need be. I think on level 2, where my room adjoined my friend's, each room has an ensuite bathroom. Level three roo... Read more

The town of Camas was smaller than we anticipated. But the Camas Hotel is on the main street and convenient to everything. Definitely older, smallish hotel. But our room #2 was a good size and worked well for us. We were happy to open our windows for cool air and the main street turned out to be quiet while we were there. We were there 2 nights. So I saw this hotel on Hotels.com and it looked so sweet and unique. We booked a room, but when we got there, it turned out that Hotels.com hadn't completed the booking and there were no rooms available. Luckily, Karen, the owner helped us find a room elsewhere for the night, and booked us a room at Camas for the following night. We loved it and will return again. (And breakfast was delicious)

Spent 5 nights at the Camas Hotel. Small room for wife and I but very clean, well appointed and a large private bathroom. Service was accommodating (gluten free diet) and generally outstanding. Hotel is located at the heart of Camas downtown. Convenient location and pretty much close to everything. Friendly and helpful staff. The thought of shared bathroom was a little inconvenient but was actually not too bad. I would have given it 5 star but due to no AC and just a loud fan in the room in summer time is just uncomfortable and hard to sleep. Other than that and for the price, it was all worth it and we had a great stay and would come back here again.

Fun place right in the center of this quaint Columbia River-side town. Excellent king bed, even though the room is quite small. Nice linens & towels, and a tasty breakfast included. Be sure you can climb stairs if you stay here. Very friendly staff!

Pros: Camas is a good alternative to the oh, so expensive Portland and is convenient for exploring the Columbia River Gorge as well as the Portland area. The Camas Hotel is a charming hotel. We had room number two which was on the 2nd floor (up 1-1/2 flights of stairs; no elevator) and faced the street. It was a good size room with a king bed, bath with a shower only. The bed was very comfortable. Downtown Camas is about the cutest town I‚??ve seen in a long time, and restaurants and shops... Read more

Nice downtown area, fun little shops and movie theater. Hotel was clean and efficient. We would stay again. We enjoyed the breakfast in the morning as well as the comfortable king size bed. We were glad we choose a room with an attached bathroom.

Check in was handled nicely. Our room wasn't ready as we checked in early but they held our luggage while we grabbed lunch at a cute place next door. Stairs would be an issue if lugging your suitcase is a problem. Apparently we got the room with the best bed. The bathroom was a step up off the bedroom. It's not modern by any means but does have lots of charm. The breakfast was ok, nothing special. It's a good location to take advantage of local hiking. Staff was very helpful!

Lovely Setting. Close to Portland, across the river. Cute area with antique shops and lots of food choices. Quaint and different from most hotels, great staff and family like service. Nicely appointed rooms, though small.

The room was decorated really nice. We picked a room with a private bathroom. The bed was comfortable but a full I believe. Fine for me, a little small for my husband that is just over 6 feet tall. The staff was very nice and helpful. Getting back to the Portland airport took about 20 minutes from here and was an easy drive. The breakfast area was cute too.

Highly recommend this quaint and charming hotel. My husband and I stayed for one night as we were traveling from Portland to Seattle. The cost for a room with its own bathroom was very reasonable when compared to hotels downtown. The drive was easy to get here and we had a great time checking out the classic car show that was in town. From check in to check out, everything was fantastic. You can hear some of the creeks from above due to the age of the hotel but that was easily fixable with ... Read more

This place is sweet. I stayed in the tiniest of their rooms (#17). I was alone and just wanted someplace cheap and clean ($65). It's bare bones but nice, with a twin bed, a TV, little desk and closet, some hooks. The bathroom (just steps from my door) was shared, but there's another one and anyway it was never occupied. The window overlooks a pretty street corner and a lovely tree. There is a full-size kitchen available for use by guests and also a pretty tiled room where breakfast is served, so... Read more

This is a great hotel in an historic part of a town that has little else to offer. The historic area is quite lovely with beautiful trees and twinkle lights everywhere but it is a small area and very close to the Georgia pacific factory. Yeah. Nothing ruins ambience quite as fast as a huge factory belching out smoke which is literally walking distance from town center. But honestly the hotel is lovely and the people who run it bend over backwards to see that you are happy there. The room I began... Read more

The Camas Hotel was very nice and clean, but it was rather small with small rooms, so if you're only sleeping and heading out its fine. If you intend to stay in your room longer than that then you might feel a bit claustrophobic and many rooms share s washroom so that is another thing to deal with. The price is very good but I'd say it's like having a private room in a hostel in many ways. Still, it's a nice place and the people are great. Very helpful and give good suggestions about what to do ... Read more

Originally built in 1911 this charming hotel evokes the bygone days when staying at a hotel was a real treat, an exciting change from every day life. Many features of the first building have been maintained while many others, such as the plumbing and dreamy beds have been modernized. These rooms are not cookie cutter similar, so you should choose your room based on what your needs and desires are. Beware, there is no elevator, so be prepared to climb some stairs. The staff is very good about... Read more
