Great place, easy-off road access, we traveled with a car trailer and race car, safe place to park for big vehicles. Great clean room, super breakfast, quiet, everything a weary traveler could ask for.

The hotel is a bit old or in need of attention. The dining area really shows wear. Front desk staff was efficient. Room was average or slightly above. Come check out day we had the maid walk in without knocking before we turned in key/checked out. Seems it happened down the hall as well. Breakfast was fine on the usual scale.

After a full day of driving we were anxious to arrive at the Holiday Inn Express, enjoy a dinner out and then relax. We found the hotel to be immediately off the interstate, spotlessly clean, and very welcoming. We would return if we are in that area again.

Excellent place to stay! Everything was top notch from the room to the service and breakfast was delicious as well as being hosted by a very attentive hostess. This place has set the standard by which all future hotels will be judged by me.

The Breakfast is really good. Staff are friendly. Room is clean. Bathroom is clean and neat. Rooms are big enough for a family of 5 or less depending on the room of your choice. The "Pancake Maker" at the breakfast room is amazing!!!!

Stayed here on the way home and it was a very pleasant stay. Rooms clean and quiet. Breakfast was also very good, Need a place to stop in VA. Try the Holiday Inn in Woodstock Va. I think you will like the comfort and convenience.

We arrived after a long day of driving and were greeted warmly by Julie, possibly the nicest, most helpful desk manager we've ever experienced. Check-in was a breeze, the room was lovely and quiet, and the breakfast was delicious. Our bill was very reasonable and we'll return to this hotel every time we drive from NJ to NC in the future.

We stopped at this Holiday Inn on our way to Baltimore for a funeral. We had been driving 6 hours after work, and were exhausted and hungry. Checking in was so easy and the price was very good! We were told of a restaurant within walking distance, called the Italian Touch, which was also very good.

Not your cookie cutter HI. Clean, well appointed, comfortable and great location. Staff very informative. Breakfast well attended. But to be honest, management must note that the time for renovations is approaching. A little excess grime ground into the carpets, some lightly obvious nicks etc in the molding and furnishings. A coat of paint here and there should be on their horizon.

Tina and Julie have been very helpful. Woman who oversees breakfast also does a great job. Nice pool. Very clean room and bath -- handy fitness ctr. Woodstock is a little challenged re: places to eat -- we like to bring our own food and use microwave/fridge in room.

Room was overpriced and military/aarp/goverment rate was not a real good discount. While the room looked clean, we walked in and it was mildew and musty smelling. After running the air it smelt a little better.

Last summer was not the best time in my life, but fortunately I stayed at a few hotels that were pretty cool despite the fact that they were chain restaurants. I remember particularly that one of the food service workers at this establishment was particularly friendly in the morning. As I mentioned in the title, I'm a little fond of the come grab a waffle whenever you like concept built in to Holiday Inn Express. I have yet to have a bad stay at one of their locations. Thank you!

Continuing our trip south we chose this hotel for our two nights in the area. A perfect choice. The price was right, the room spotless, the wi-fi VERY fast, the breakfast area big and bright and served by an energetic person who cared about the customer all the time. The desk person at check in was very business like, but everyone else was nice. This particular place would be our choice for this area anytime.

Short and direct: Pleasant front desk upon arrival. Room (330) was clean and well kept. The air conditioning didn't seem to be working at first but after turning the fan to on instead of auto it cooled the room efficiently. Beds were firm and comfortable for the most part. (Not a fan of firm beds personally) Now the breakfast was possibly the best I have ever had at a hotel. The 2 ladies working the bar were extremely nice and kept up the food great. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone... Read more

This holiday inn does not allow pets and is a bit pricey. The breakfast buffet was decent, but if I go back I will probably stay somewhere closer to the trails and cheaper. It was an hour and a half to Shenandoah national park and an hour to old rag mountain .

This hotel is wonderful, I only wish we could have stayed longer, staff is very helpful and friendly, the room was very clean, beds are comfortable, breakfast was good - if you make pancakes stay at the machine the whole time, I left a drink by machine to get a fork and a guy took my pancakes, actually put his bare hands on them, when I told him I had just stepped away for a fork he offered them back to me, uh no thank you, gross.

We were approaching from the northeast via I-81 and wanted an overnight stop that provided ample dinner choices and yet allow us to get to Luray Caverns before opening the following morning. Woodstock fit the bill and the Holiday Inn Express met our criteria. Our room was on the same floor as the lobby (2nd floor) - which made for a quick stop at the ample breakfast buffet the following morning. Wifi was excellent.

Visited this weekend for a family reunion, for a budget chain they are excellent. Great check-in staff, clean rooms, nice outdoor pool and well done breakfast spread in a nicely sized area. The gym was lacking but hardly anyone was using it, guess they know their market. If in the area again this would be our go-to place.

Stopped here on my way back home. Hotel is very conveniently located to the I-81 on off ramp and close by to food and gas stations. Hotel was clean and brightly lit. Staff was helpful and friendly and even provided take out menus for local restaurants that would deliver to the property. Room was spacious and clean with good bathroom and a firm yet comfortable bed in the room. Wifi was provided for free. Continental breakfast was provided. Highly recommended.

Because we are ihg members we always book and stay with a holiday inn. We are familiar with the very comfortable bed and pillows. There good reviews on this particular hotel. But to my dismay our stay which is a stop overnight was horrible. The room smelled as we walked in. My husband sprayed his cologne to mask the smell. The room appears clean and is big. Then we check the bed and the sheets, noticed the pillows were so old that combining all four will not even make a good one pillow. We did a... Read more

Good hotel with a couple of shortcomings that kept it from 5*. Hotel was remodeled a few years ago as its previous life was a Ramada Inn. Major/minor issue was no wall soap holders for soap (only tub lip) when talking shower. Old people tend to lose balance when leaning over in shower/tub to get soap at below knee height. Breakfast was standard precooked/formed with biscuits cooked weeks ahead in factories. As usual there was not any mustard or mayo condiments for turkey sausage etc.. Would stay... Read more

This HI Express is really showing its age. Although the room was clean and the bed comfortable, there were chips in the porcelain of the tub and the leather (or faux leather) on the desk chair was peeling off, giving it a very "used" look. There was a small refrigerator in the room, but unlike other HIX hotels, this one did not have a small freezer compartment, which I like to use to keep ice packs frozen while I travel. All in all, this facility was pretty "average" but OK for a night while ... Read more

This was a very pleasant stay. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. There is a nice table for the laptop, and plenty of outlets. The heating is controlled by a thermostat on the wall instead of by a knob on the unit itself, and the fan stays on all the time instead of cycling on and off to wake us up. The bathtub is non-slip and the shower curtain holder bows out away from the shower so that the curtain is not forced up against your body. The cable TV worked fine, the wifi worked fi... Read more

It as been a while since we stayed at this hotel and we were so surprised to how it had deteriorated. The carpets in the hallways were very stained and the chairs in the dining area were stained. There is a bench in the room with a cloth top that was just dirty. I went to the front desk to request a luggage rack and was advised they no longer use them and the bench is for your luggage. We had a reservation at a different hotel but had to cancel and transfer at the last minute. I have a severe (anaphylactic) pet allergy - dogs and cats - and many hotels set aside rooms for pets. The other hotel allowed them in every room. We've never experienced this before. After two other hotels, this was the first we came to that didn't have that policy. My husband and I have stayed at many hotels on trips. I am very disappointed in this hotel. It is bare minimum, which I expected;however, they advertised non-smoking rooms. When we arrived in our room (325) it reeked of cigarette smoke and not just from one visitor before us. We looked outside of the room and there was not a sign that denoted non-smoking.
