The hotel is a bit hard to get to even with the GPS. You actually have to turn down Ross Road to get to the entrance. Very clean and quiet motel with a lovely staff. Each person was nicer than the next. My room was ready when I got there and there was plenty of free parking.

I like Hampton Inns and stay in them frequently. They are consistently good. But this one in Winchester is special. Conveniently located just of I-81, it is beautifully maintained and well managed. The staff is very friendly and competent. The lobby is bright and attractive and the rooms are large and well furnished - a desk and a reading chair or sofa. The free breakfast is good with many choices. It's just a pleasant place to stay!

I booked this hotel for the purpose of accommodation during a family visit to the Shenadoah Valley. I typically stay at Hamptons when I travel, and this facility has problems that haven't been renovated out. The door to our room didn't latch and lock properly, not without alot of force, so when we came back in the afternoon after housekeeping had been there, we'd find our door unlatched and could just push in (anyone could have! fortunately nothing was taken). We arrived Memorial Day weekend, in... Read more

Desk personnel are friendly, but this hotel is old and really needs to be updated. Old, old furnishings. The pool was out of order and it looks like it will be months before it's ready to go. They offer the Hilton Garden's pool a few miles away down very busy roads and highways... NOT! The other Hampton in town is much nicer and has been recently remodeled.

I realize hotels have wedding parties, but there should be a rule where the party guest get the rooms directly above the party. I would not say a thing but the Manager on duty told us the music would end at 9:30 PM. It was 11:00 when they quit. I learned my lesson if there is a party find another hotel. Other than the noise, the room was clean and neat. Too bad I lost sleep and the maid did not get tipped.

Very nice stop over before heading to start Skyline Drive. Clean, comfortable, everything in working order. Breakfast was good. The only complaint was that the check in process was not great. We checked in around 10:30 after a long day on the road. There was only one person behind the desk and he was on the phone. There was a line of people was 5 deep and everyone was annoyed. Finally my husband told him he needed to hang up and take care of the people in line. He did, thankfully.

This Hampton Inn is exactly what you expect it to be, and that is a good thing. The rooms are clean, the service is friendly, the breakfast is fine, the beds are comfortable, and everything in the room and bathroom worked just fine. I stayed there twice last week (on my way North to visit friends and then back again to our home in the South). I would definitely stay here again if I drive again rather than fly.
