We enjoyed our brief visit to KingsMill Resort and two rounds of golf. Conditions on the golf courses were very good and the staff was very helpful. We stayed in one of the condos which was spacious and well laid out. Our golf package was very reasonable and included an excellent full breakfast every day. We hope to return another time and spend more time exploring the area in addition to playing more golf.

My family and I stayed at Kings Mill Resort over the Mother's Day weekend (May 6 - May 10). This was our 1st visit to the resort. Upon arrival, the grounds were beautiful. We couldn't wait to see what the rooms, the 3 bedroom Riverside cottage, had to offer. At check-in, I met Angie, the desk manager. She supplied the keys and any information we needed to make our stay enjoyable. We get to the rooms and during our inspection, 1 of the bedrooms was completely in disarray. The double beds in ... The spacious condos make this much better than a typical resort for business gatherings. You can even hide a couple kids in the trunk and they'll have plenty to do while you're working. If you can convince the boss to allow an extra day for sightseeing, this is a perfect area to do that as well. We've come here for business a few times and this is a wonderfully kept location with excellent staff, including the food service team. We spent 5 days at Kingsmill to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. We chose it because of the beautiful grounds, and the combination of championship golf courses and spa services right on the premise. The one bedroom condo with full updated kitchen and living room, worked really well for us. We chose top floor as many reviewers suggested and had no noise issues. We made reservations at the James Landing Grille for a special dinner overlooking the Jamestown River, food was delicious. Another night,... Read more

We were celebrating our 53rd anniversary and also looking at the resort for a family reunion in 2017. The area is beautiful and the grounds are great. The front desk service was really super. When we got to our room , there was a message and in the fridge was a Happy Anniversary surprise. Chocolate covered Strawberry's and wine. We had a dinner reservation at the Elements-(very good restaurant) and it was fantastic. Ron, the bartender, was our server and he was above great. My wife has dietary... Read more

Stayed in a two bedroom suite on the river. Great room and location. Although for a four diamond resort I was disappointed in the shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the bathrooms as they were large containers and not individual products. I expect that design at a lower rated property and not 4 diamond. In fact it is not hygienic as someone could add anything to those containers and the next guest would not know. We have been long time guests at Kingsmill but not in the past 5 years. Also dis... Read more

Kingsmill is a wonderful vacation spot for the whole family. We have twin 18 month old toddlers and Kingsmill was an excellent resort for everyone! We had a one bedroom condo. The condo was spacious accommodating everything you need when travelling with little ones. We took our own pack n plays for the kids; however, I understand the hotel does provide them. It was very nice to have a full kitchen when preparing food for the kids. All of the restaurants were very welcoming and at ease with... Read more

I was with my wife for our babymoon, we chose this place as I was recommended by my friend. The rooms were really nice and it was like a cottage so really liked it. The pool was good, the restaurants were nice too. The only complaint I have is that I called two times to get my room cleaned and no one showed up but finally when I called the third time at 9pm someone came in cleaned the room but did not even fill the coffee tray. We had a wonderful time at the beautiful Kingsmill Resort. The hospitality/customer service was outstanding, the food was great, the room was clean and the LPGA Kingsmill Championship was exciting. The only thing I would've liked to improve was the amount of hot water in the room, we couldn't even take a short shower without it turning cold. That and the very nice young lady at the spa that checked us in was chewing gum which I think is a customer service no, no. Everything else was absolute... Read more

I've visited Kingsmill many times prior to the renovation, and while I thought it held its value enough prior to the room renovation because of the property amenities, it is much enhanced with the room renovations. They are fantastic. We were booked in a resort level condo. Wanted river but they were sold out for Memorial Day. It was not a problem and we saw plenty of the river at the river pool. Enjoyed a short stay here but well worth it. Just a short drive to historic Williamsburg, Va. and Jamestown. We enjoyed a round of golf for a very pleasant stay. We have stayed here before, service is excellent and prices are reasonable. Will do so again.

Was invited to a weekend getaway with several other ladies and this was my first time being here. The grounds are lovely and so many options within walking distance within the resort itself. If you can find time to do a massage I would highly recommend it. They are nice and relaxing. My only complaint is that the breakfast was not worth the price. There were some good/outstanding options but everything was just bland and some of the food was even cold.

Love this resort! This is my second time here and resort is beautiful and well kept. The pool was a bit cold but once you're in you get use to it. We visited the pool bar and the drinks we're good..a bit pricey but that's to be expected. We didn't go to any of the restaurants we preferred to cook our own meals in our room. I did take off 1 star because of housekeeping. No one came to clean our rooms! We left early in the day on Saturday for the pool when we returned in the evening we still found... Read more

We just returned from a business meeting at the Kingsmill. The grounds are beautiful and well manicured. The two pools were great. The service was good and housekeeping did a good job keeping our room refreshed ( we had two boys with us and we're a bit messy). There was no noise from adjacent rooms. The front desk attendants were pleasant and when we called to get a ride the golf cart was at our building within 5 minutes. We attended two large dinner events on property, one outside near the... The rooms were beautiful as well as the grounds and the view. Resort is quite crowded with housing on top of each other and not enough parking. Staff is not very welcoming. We were there for a large family wedding and the day we were scheduled to leave, housekeeping was trying to get us out of our rooms at 8:00 am, even with a do not disturb sign on the door! Shuttle was a plus. With what the cost was, I would expect to be welcomed not feeling like I was put upon by the staff.

When I went to freshen up I notice that the water didn't get hot, I thought maybe I needed to let it run for a bit in which I did but still the water was just lukewarm. This was our fourth visit to the resort, and although many things continue to be done very, very well the resort is losing its edge. It was spacious with a fireplace and kitchen. The bedroom had a king size bed which was nice. The room itself was dark and very masculine --this is obviously a resort for men that golf :). The front desk staff was in a contact state of being overwhelmed -- in person or on the phone. Never in a million years would I book a vacatio... Read more

Stayed with party of 12 in river condos. Reservations was outstanding in accomodating wishes to have condos together in same building. River views were outstanding. Everything clean, full kitchen well stocked. Easy to find and use all the facilities. Indoor / outdoor pools with river views... lovely. Gym offers classes open to guests. Marina offers paddleboards, kayaks. Only negative is that the rooms have Kuerig and I personally like a full pot of coffee. Just a personal preference.

Kingsmill Resort was beautiful - my boyfriend at the time actually proposed to me over the weekend on the resort -- behind the plantation house) overlooking the beautiful James River. So, I may be a bit biased, but this resort was absolutely beautiful! We had a river side room (which I would HIGHLY recommend) with our own private deck looking out onto the water. We really enjoyed using the outdoor pool as well as lounging by the small beach. After the proposal, we dined at the James Landing Gri... Read more

Kingsmill is a peaceful resort located on the James River. They have quite a few amenities making it very convenient. I love their houses on the water. You get a great view of the river. The gym was small and cramped but I was only there for two days and overlooked this issue. The facilities are beautiful. Being close to Williamsburg is a perk for that traveling to Colonial Williamsburg or Jamestown or have children at William and Mary. It is a great host hotel for our annual conference. The foo... What a wonderful staff and facility. I've been to many conferences and many hotels and I can honestly say Kingsmill is one of the best. Jodi was spectacular in handling and organizing our large conference group and MJ (Michael Jordan) was a so helpful! He was like a magic genie who was always there to help!

This is a beautiful resort with quiet rooms where you can watch deer scamper in the distance. If you enjoy the river, tennis or golf, this is a lovely place to visit. I was here for a conference and didn't have time to take advantage of the amenities, but I will definitely book a few extra nights the next time we meet at Kings Mill!

Definitely a top notch operation with beautifully manicured grounds; friendly helpful staff; wonderfully spacious, well appointed condo rooms complete with kitchen; fabulous golf courses; and a variety of dining options to suit anyone's taste; all set with beautiful views of the James River that is quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Stayed here 'off season', which made the room rate pretty reasonable (especially using AAA rates). We stayed in a condo, and it was nice, clean, comfortable, and modern. The ground had everything from spa, golf courses, pool, outdoor activities, game room, and much, much more. ***We even lucked out with their Oktober Fest Celebration that included childcare!!!*** Staff was SUPER FRIENDLY! Unbelievable experience. We are definitely coming back here -- again!

My husband and I got a night away and decided to try Kingsmill. We booked a king waterfront room- I was immediately impressed by how clean the room/bathroom was. I am easily grossed out by hotels and commented to my husband how happy I was with the clean factor. We had a less than stellar pool side lunch experience- waitress never brought our drinks or checked on us at all after taking our order. I think this was an exception and not the norm. Dinner at James Landing was fantastic- my husband a... Read more

Clean and relaxing. Great customer and room service. There isn't that much to do inside the resort but convenient to rest and relax with family. We have discovered few great restaurants close to the resort. Our favorite restaurant was Maurizio's Italian Restaurant.

Kingsmill is one of the nicest resorts in Williamsburg, incredible setting, spacious rooms, plenty of activities in resort and nearby. The huge problem with Kingsmill is the staff and service, we have stayed 5-6 times recently and encounter so many staff who seem very unhappy or unwilling to accommodate very basic requests. Restaurants are often closed on the weekends, those that are open are full, even for guests, room service is very slow, they often get the order wrong, door locks often do... Read more

I stayed at the Kingsmill recently for a business conference and found it to be exceptional in beauty and serenity. While I was not able to participate in any of the resort activities, the resort appeared to be a great golf location. Beautiful, well-kept grounds surround the hotel lodging areas. I plan to return this year with my family for a golf weekend. I think you will really enjoy staying there.

Our room was on the lawn and the James River. Best view ever. The room was large and very comfortable. Whether attending a tournament or staying there, the place is a class act. I have spent two birthday vacations at Kingsmill. One this year. I like the garden-style hotel rooms in the woods and along the courses. Both the River and Plantation courses are challenging and very well-maintained. Staff makes you feel welcome. Six restaurants on campus means you don't really have to go out for any meal. Impressive tennis facility (eyeballed not played).

Kingsmill is a lovely resort, staffed by very friendly people. Overall, we had a pleasant 3-day stay over Thanksgiving. We had a standard double room on the river. The room was clean and comfortable.
