We were only able to stay here because we found a deal on Groupon that discounted the room 50%. I feel that was a reasonable price to pay for the room and waterpark. The staff was fantastic. They were friendly, were able to answer our questions, and greeted us when we walked by. The room as clean and well kept. You can tell the room was used but being a themed hotel with lots of children coming and going it was acceptable. My only negative thing to say is the cost some of the extra activitie... Read more

I didn't get alt of rest because the guests upstairs above us sounded like a herd of elephants all times of the night. Also some parents allowed the children to run through the halls all time while other guests were still sleeping. The shower also runs water all over the bathroom floor. I didn't know until getting out and seeing a pool of water on the floor even with a shower curtain.

My family enjoyed the waterpark and the pizza and ice cream shops. My six year old loved the arcade, though it was expensive. Our room was fine - seemed to be well maintained. The price is ridiculous, but we'll definitely return if we can find good discounts.

Our 5th trip with our grandchildren who love the water park. Went on a Saturday for the first time. We had always gone on a Sunday and pulled the g-kids out of school, as Monday's were "short days" but now are full days. Saturday's are crowded, resulting in 45 minute checkin wait, not getting a room until 4:25( you can use the water park after checkin and can use the dressing rooms in the park) and longer lines in the water park. However, the grandchildren did not mind. Our room was comfort... Read more

I will agree with other reviewers that yes one overnight is enough - when you check in early and check out late. We brought our 12 yo son and he enjoyed it very much. This was a last minute decision as we somehow read the kings dominion website wrong and it was closed. So. Many. Stairs. Between the water park stairs and the hotel stairs for the magic wand game ugh mama's legs so tired. Yes, there is a elevator in the hotel but the game has you all over the hotel waving the dang wand everywhere ... Read more

The shower in the water park went from hot to cold and was dangerous for myself and my 5 year old son. The shower looked old and was not well kept. The magiquest hours should be from 8am not 9am each day. Kids are up and need something to do from 8-9am. Charlotte do not charge kids 5 and under for magiquest. You should implement this policy. They also don't charge a $1 on top of game price for book. Nobody could hear the story time, everybody was asking what they were saying. You need a new sou... Read more

This place needs a full renovation. I remembered how nice and clean it was when they first opened now it is filled with ants. My room was moved twice and every single room had ants. The only great thing about this place is the water park. Perfect for all ages and plenty of fun.

If you are looking for a great family escape or even a Scout Troop..this is the place. This was my first visit and I was blown away by how much stuff the kids got with the Wolf Pass! It was a great way to spend a weekend, never had to leave the lodge! They make it easy to bring a cooler and pack your own food or enjoy the great food at the resort. We were never disappointed in the food or variety. The kids were on the go constantly and worn out by the end of the night! The rooms were very sp... Read more

I took my Scout troop this weekend- age 7-8. They loved it! The hotel greeted us well, the room was ready at 1pm when we showed up to begin using the park. Each room had a $50 spending voucher which was nice. The park food is reasonably priced, there were some maintenance issues of the wave pool and the tornado slide. Life guards are very attentive and keep a great watch on the little ones. Plenty of vests available for those who can't swim. Ropes course was a bit pricey, and the rooms ar... Read more

First Great Wolf Lodge experience and it was an overall good trip. Although we arrived after 4pm, so NOT a busy check-in time with only one family in line ahead of us, the check-in process took way too long. I don't know if it was due the computer system or the person checking us in or both, but I don't know why it took as long as it did. I can't imagine how much longer it would have taken had we arrived during peak check-in times and there was a line. So beware from 1-4pm! There will be a very ... Read more

So far we visited Great Wolf Lodge twice - and loved it both times! It is definitely one of our favorite places for a short family vacation. Both times we stayed just one night, and it was just enough. Anything longer could have been too much. The indoor water park is FANTASTIC! The best part - it is equally suitable for very young kids, teen, and adults. There are enough activities to keep everybody entertained. The Quest games are great, too. While at lunch (we went out ), they emailed me saying our room was ready (about 12:30) so i was very pleased with that. The room was very clean and good size for family of 5. I can not say enough about this place. We travel a lot and have stayed a bunch of places but this place hands down is the best place we have ever stayed with our kids. So much to do - they will never get board. I recommend buying add-ons on line prior to arrival to save some money. We had a small hiccup in our room (coffee pot not working) and the Customer service day manager Shawn went above and beyond to make it right. Chlorine is strong but not over bearing. Checked in for 3 nights in June crossing the week days into the weekend/Friday: 1. Waterpark lines were less than March or October 2. Outdoor pool was open so more room 3. Outdoor activities--mini golf, rock climbing were open 4. Magi Quest was not crowded, reasonable # of participants 5. Restaurants were not crowded I recommend going in the summer time, surprisingly.

We visited GWL in March and again in June. In March we stayed in the kid cabin. In June we were supposed to stay in the family suite but were upgraded to the loft room. The kid cabin was cool in theory but the beds themselves were pretty yucky. The whole rest of the room was clean. We also bought the kids wolf passes...that was a decent value as well and channeled their fun so the words "I want" were only heard when expressing desire to return to the MagiQuest game. So for that; I feel this trip was an excellent value. We traveled on a Wednesday- Friday so crowds were not too bad. I had read reviews where it was so crowded one could not get a table, but ... Waterpark is kind of lame unless you're under 10-years-old. Room was too far away from lobby/waterpark and parking. Kids ultimately spent more time on the wi-fi than in the water. Lodge tries to offset late check-in times by granting early waterpark access, then charges $10 extra for a locker in which to store your clothes until your room becomes available. More up-sells than a car-buying experience. Almost 20% of the total price consisted of taxes/fees.

I feel like this is a great place for a family to go with lots of fun things for kids to do. However, it definitely comes at a large cost. We stayed one night for 2 adults and 3 kids in a standard room and it cost us $400. That's just for the room and passes to the water park. They have a buffet for dinner but it was over priced. They also have Bowling and an arcade and putt putt and several other things but we could afford to take the kids to do any of that. One night shouldn't be so outrageous... Read more

Went here for a three night getaway with husband and 10 y/o son. Water park is loud, small, hot, smells like chlorine. No concern for aesthetics, comfort or the interests of anyone over 10 y/o. Difficult to tolerate more than an hour or two in the park. Was expecting a nicer hotel for the money. Once again no regard for quality, beauty or adults in any way. Even with discount for the group we were with, the money spent for one night's accommodation was not worth the investment. Like the room description says, the room slept 8. The mattresses were horribly inadequate. The pull out sofa mattress was exactly as you might imagine from a bad B-rated tv show...terribly thin and just...not enough adjectives to describe it. I came with my family for a conference I was attending. The waterpark is a lot of fun, this is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. The accommodations, on the other hand was not great. We stayed in one of the cabin suits. It was very sticky. The carpet was really worn down. The room was large which was great, however they could have stuck a much bigger bed for the adults. Plenty of room for a king sized bed, but only a queen. Anyway, very disappointed with the room. Next time I'll stay somewhere els... Read more

All around good time. Waterpark lots of fun!! Food was pricey but good. Dinner buffet was $20/person, but other choices were available. Jammie's Jamboree (Pajama Dance Party) music not really age appropriate for smaller kids. Sent the adult "kids" out to relax while I watched Grand Baby. We were surprised to learn that No restaurants, hot tubs or pools were open after 9:00pm just for adults to relax. Rooms and resort very clean!

We stayed one night on our way home from the beach. We had a blast. My kids (6, 5, 5 months) loved the water park and its features (the slides). The service is great - they know you shell out cash to come and thereby ensure a decent time. We prepaid our breakfast and got a $50 resort credit which was put to good use for drinks and snacks and souvenirs. Only downside is this - guests can eat in their rooms which we found out as we found some fruit flies and a roach the last few minutes of ou... Read more

Stayed here for two nights in June 2016. Hotel looked really nice outside, cool theming, pretty grounds. Inside, not so much. Rooms are looking really old and tired. Need a refresh. The wallpaper was peeling, we didn't have a shower curtain, there were ants all under and around the refrigerator, painted areas like the door were painted (unintentionally) multiple shades of a color, looked really cheaply maintained. Okay, this place is FUN! Fun for kids, fun for kids at heart - it's just plain fun! There is so much entertainment to keep your kids busy and happy. My boys (8 & 10) were happy and smiling from the second we pulled up until we left 3 days later. For that, I give it 5 stars. (Of course that may be because we sprung for the paw passes and the climbing passes, which allowed them to do everything in the hotel. No Great Wolf in Florida so promised the kids we'd visit a GWL if we ever traveled out of state, we were NOT disappointed! Check online for discounts and sign up for email to receive discounts. Love that you can check in to the water park early in the day prior to room check in and can stay all day the day you check out. I understand that when you pay for your room you are also paying for water park admission, but when you charge as much as they do per night the room needs to be better kept. From the outside of the Lodge to the appearance of the Lobby, it looks like a great place. The problems started at Check In. There was a mat on the counter that advised that upgrades were available. Since we had tried for weeks for an upgrade and were given the run around between the Lodge and Diamond Resorts, I thought that I would ask for an upgrade. I was advised that there were none. This was a difficult review for me. I say this because although I wanted to rate it a 1 - my kids absolutely LOVED the place. I enjoy seeing my kids happy and seeing other kids having fun as well. The reason I wanted to rate it low was because the rooms were subpar. I felt like I was in a Comfort Inn that had wolf wallpaper on the walls. The resort is in desperate need of a renovation. We received an email when our room was available and we had the option of how many room keys we wanted (your wristband is your room key).
