Front desk kept us informed of dining times for bus tours so we had no waiting for an excellent breakfast with made to order eggs, omelets and French toast. This was our first experience at an Embassy Suites Hotel and we were very pleased! Our room was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I like having the 2 separate rooms (sleeping & "sitting" rooms) for such a reasonable price. I guess it does make the 2 spaces smaller than if it was one big room, but I tend to wake much earlier than my husband, and I could be in the separate room watching TV and sewing or reading with out disturbing him. Upon arrival at the hotel, our room was not ready. They sent us to our room, as if it were ready, but the housekeeper was still in there. She said all it needed was towels, so we waited in the hall. When we went in, I began to set up my son's sleeping bag on the floor in the bedroom. There were candy wrappers, peanuts, and other pieces of trash on the floor between the two beds. We stayed on the first floor and outside of our room keys not working initially and the pool looking cloudy everything else was fine. The 'happy hour' drinks were good though limited. The snacks provided during 'happy hour' was tasty. The hotel is smaller than most Embassy Suites but I'm assuming that it's because of the location as most of the hotels where small. We arrived shortly before check in on a very busy Saturday. Clearly, the front desk and housekeeping staff was not prepared for so many guests attempting to check in at 4:00 pm. We were told our room would be ready shortly as housekeeping still needed to make the beds. We're fairly patient and understanding so this wasn't a problem. This the smallest and most plain Embassy Suites we have ever stayed in. I used the hiltons app via iPhone is make the reservations and checkin. I was able to pick our room via the app and tell them we would be there at 4pm. Upon arrival just after 4 they said our room was not ready and moved us from the 2nd to 1st floor. Thankfully it was not as loud as most 1st floors tend to be. The fitness area was nice and clean but the ceiling towards the water area needs to be fixed. The pool is okay and e... Read more

Once our check-in date was coming closer it was very hard to get in touch with them and I felt some of the original discussion start to change like the amount of people in our party to book for us to get our wedding night for free. I expressed my issues and they did accept it and told us that we would get our night for free. Checking in was fine the girl at the front desk asked if ... Read more

My husband and I really liked this hotel. Both of us are very picky people, especially my husband and we were prepared to leave if it was not up to our standards. We never stay in any hotel that is rated less than a 4-star. I read several reviews before selecting this one and even felt a little skeptical regarding the review that mentioned bugs, which caused me not to even consider this hotel in the first place. It wasn't until I contacted reservations for a different Hilton hotel which didn... Read more

Whilst the welcoming snacks and drinks between 5.30 and 7.30 were lovely and the place was very busy with guests, the evening after welcoming drinks was in stark contrast. The bar did offer a small menu for guests wanting to dine in, the dining room was not used, no cutlery or crockery were set out. Bar staff seem surprised that we wanted to eat in the hotel. we noticed that a lot of guests were having pizza deliveries up to their rooms which seemed odd to us. Stayed only one night but we are experienced Embassy Suites visitors and know exactly what to expect. This stay was only a little bit different than the usual. This is a new, small, and 5 story ES. Many rooms encircle the central atrium, but many are in adjacent hallways too. We like rooms on the atrium and had #500. The rooms are small - even the King suites. I checked the Hilton web site and they do not list the square footage of their rooms, but this has to be about 2/3 of the older mod... Read more

One thing that was fantastic was the free breakfast in the mornings. There is an omelet station and the woman working there is the sweetest. Food was good. The front desk people were super friendly when we checked in and out. The WiFi was free, at least for a day, not sure if it was free after that. However, everything else about the hotel was average or below average. The beds were hard, the room got warm if you closed the door between the bedroom and the suite room, and it wasn't the cleanest.... Read more

The hotel is conveniently located near Williamsburg and Yorktown. Happy hour has free drinks, mediocre snacks. The hotel is seriously understaffed in housekeeping, room service dishes remained in the hallway for many many hours. Carpet in room was not vacuumed, fridge was dirty. I don't know for sure that it has been recently renovated - but this hotel certainly is in great shape. Nice carpets, up-to-date decor, bath fixtures, etc. Manager's reception always great and located in a quiet area, yet close to quality restaurants and of course, historic Williamsburg.

This is my second trip at this hotel. The staff is friendly, great food and beverages at the receptions/breakfast, and I really like the carpet in the common areas imprinted with the old Colonial script - a nice touch. Only complaint - if you can call it that - is they need brighter lightbulbs in the living room lights next to the mirror so you can fix your hair. Terrific place and would recomment.
