Beautiful oceanfront view. Property was clean, rooms were taken care of early in the morning. Easy parking. Nice pool and hot tub with poolside bar. Restaurant and tap house connected to property with oceanfront views. Walking distance to bars, shops, and restaurants. Short drive to Rudee's Inlet and Va Beach Aquarium. Only downside is it is somewhat noisy at night, as neighboring bars have live bands. Had no problem sleeping through it, but just a heads up. Our room had an oceanfront balcony, w... Read more

Everything was right on for a chain hotel. Locale is great, quiet, 20 feet from the beach. Parking free on site (though a little pain to get from garage to room). Service was very good. Passable restaurant on first floor. Passable breakfast. Very clean large rooms, each with a nice balcony overlooking the ocean. Given the low price, esp great option.

We had a great visit. We were on the 5th floor and the view was great. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The connecting parking garage made getting our things to our room very convenient. It was great being just a few steps from the boardwalk with excellent restaurants a quick walk away. We will stay here again.

The Inn is located in a great location on Virginia Beach/Boardwalk. The rooms are good size with balcony's. They have microwave, small refrigerator, iron/board, hair dryer, coffee maker. There are no safes in the rooms, but their are safety deposit boxes at the front desk. There is a flat screen TV with cable, free WiFi and free hot breakfast or brown bag if you do not have time for breakfast. It's a great beach location, but they also have a indoor pool if you prefer. We stayed on a weeknight before the local schools got out, so got a good price on the room. We paid the extra $9 to get an upper floor for a better view. We checked in briefly after 4 pm (check in time) along with several other guests in line. They were frantically getting rooms ready. Our room was ready, but said they would have to bring us towels. We got into our room and within 10 minutes they brought us the towels - 4 sets for our reservation of 4 people. The room had ample space, ... Read more

This Hampton Inn scored a 10 in every possible category! Convenient parking. Attractive, welcoming lobby. Friendly staff. Very attractive rooms and bathrooms. Great view of the ocean. Good, FREE breakfast - not the expected Continental breakfast. Quiet, relaxing location but still easily accessible to every thing you need and want to do during your stay.

We have stayed at many Hampton Inns. And this one is one of the less informative hotels. They give you a list of restaurants when you check in but they have no street map to give you an idea where they are. Yes if you have an iPhone or any phone you can look them up. But some older folks may not have one or want one. The ladies we dealt with at the front desk are not as friendly as other Hampton Inns. The parking garage is tight. One way up and down. The indoor pool is small. And it's very hot ... Read more

We loved having an ocean view and being able to look out at the ocean and beach from our room. The room was clean and comfortable. Our only complaint was the room service. We left early in the day and returned about 4 pm and the room had not been made up. We asked housekeeping to take care of it, and went out again for a while, they made the beds but didn't leave clean towels. We asked for some at the front desk, but never did receive them. We recently stayed at the hotel while my in-laws were in town, so in total two rooms. We arrived before scheduled check-in but were granted parking so we could get out of the car after the drive and grab lunch at the 11th Street Taphouse adjacent to the hotel. We were able to get into our rooms after lunch. We stayed on the Hampton Inn South one Saturday night. The beds were comfortable. The room was clean. It had a small refrigerator. The ocean view was great, and the complementary breakfast was a lot better than the usual run of the mill stuff that you get with included breakfasts. Hotel is in a quiet area of the beach. No rowdy guests or loud music. Our stay was very peaceful. We had a great ocean view of sunrises and moon rises. The sound of the ocean is very peaceful. We left the sliding doors open in the evening just to hear the ocean waves. All restaurants were walking distance. We did not drive our car for the entire 3 days we spent at the Hampton and that was great! We will do this again.

Great location on the beach, close to the pier. Nice hotel but room rates were really high. I expected better for the money. Really, a $400.00 a night hotel should offer much more luxury. It's also easy to get confused on where and how to get to the lobby when coming in for the first time. It is not setup with a traditional style entrance.

Clean room. Hot breakfast. All rooms with ocean view. Right on the Virginia Beach boardwalk. Pretty much all the quality we have come to expect from Hampton Inn. Perhaps i would be judging a little too harshly because the last Hampton Inn that we stayed in in Gulfport MS was brand new. This is an older hotel and the wear and tear shows a little. We booked only a week in advance and this was one of a few places that had available rooms. All rooms are oceanfront and nice enough and clean. Nothing fancy for the price at all. The 11th Street Taphouse is on the ground floor and bot food and beer selections are great. First the good. The hotel is on the beach and each room has a balcony overlooking the beach with a wonderful view. There is an attached garage that is free and has plenty of spaces. The breakfast was also good, typical of Hampton Inns. The staff was very helpful and nice. Now the sequence of bad events. We arrived on a Sunday in the early afternoon. Since we arrived before check in time, we weren't surprised there weren't any rooms for us to check into and that was fine. The person at the... Read more

If you are looking for pristine clean and fresh smelling room, this is not the answer. What's this world coming to when you have to request housekeeping to mop the bath room floor, vacuum the carpet and make the bed. Forget changing the sheets. $179 a night should provide more....and that's a discounted rate so they said!

This hotel is average. The beds were uncomfortable. The staff is nice but management is a problem. I was told hot tub in the hotel but on arrival no hot tub. Disappointed. Breakfast is good but would have liked more vegan options.

I attended this hotel for a business related meeting and was immediately met at the front counter by a wonderful staff. Both of the young ladies working at the front counter was exceptional in assisting me with my needs. While the room was being prepared (I arrived a hour before check-in), they recommended various places to dine or visit to make my stay more enjoyable. Really appreciated their enthusiasm! The ENTIRE staff in this hotel was courteous and helpful.

Spent 4 nights here. Quiet every night. Room was large and clean. Bed was very firm. Pillows not as comfy as I would like. Good breakfast in the morning. Selection much like other hotels but this was always hot and fresh. Staff did a good job. Disappointed, as so often, with the promise to not change towels as part of being earth friendly but they always did

Short stay but felt it wasn't worth the money we paid. Breakfast & staff were great. Very small pool & no hot tub. Room didn't feel really clean. View from balcony was disappointing. Looked out to a roughlooking roof with a lot of sea gulls on it and beach was always away

The staff at this property provided excellent service, and I enjoyed a beautiful second floor ocean view!! The rooms were very clean. The beach was easily accessible. Although I did not travel with my children, the hotel was very family friendly. I would definitely return for another stay at this hotel!!

Rude staff, food will give you food poisoning, dirty rooms. While we were staying there, they lost water to the rooms. When I called the front desk and told them I was late, nothing. They sent a facility person to my room and he saw the red mud coming from my faucet and he stated"see I told you the water was back on"

Booked and paid in advance for this hotel stay. Was nice, clean. Room was large, which helped out with family. The view from the top floor was great. Only real issue was the beds are extremely firm and made sleeping difficult for those not accustom to it.

When I planned my trip to VB, I wanted a clean room with a beachfront view and easy access to beach. I also wanted a good breakfast and friendly staff to respond to my needs. This was achieved at this Hampton Inn hotel. My only complaint is they did not provide beach towels.

Exceptionally friendly and accommodating staff. Very clean premises. The hot breakfast if great! It's a wonderful location at 11th street in Virginia Beach for festivals or just visiting the beach. The 11th street Tap House is great place to eat or enjoy your favorite beverage. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is located on the boardwalk and all rooms are ocean view. Very good complimentary breakfast. Clean rooms. Good restaurant on site and others nearby. We came the weekend of the Neptune Festival, so that was an added bonus for the trip.

This hotel property was staffed by helpful and pleasant people, but the building - particularly the interior - needs some maintenance and TLC. My room's bathroom fan did not work, and the thermostat and air conditioner quit working during my stay. The staff fixed the A/C unit. The walls and ceilings and doorways & windows need updates & repairs - not just paint.

This Hampton has been very helpful, courteous and professional. We actually extended our stay for several days AFTER the hurricane had gone through and they were trying to clean up. This property DOES have a generator for future hurricane reference. Breakfast is super, right on the boardwalk and the beach. Very nice.

Checked in here at the last minute after a very bad experience at another Atlantic Ave hotel. Cheerfully greeted by Hadia who helped arrange the best available room for us- a king suite on the 9th floor starting the next day. The next day we checked in, and had a few (minor) issues with the room location. As we were going to dinner, Hadia asked if we were happy with our room. When we expressed a few minor reservations, she immediately offered to move us up to another suite on the tenth (top) f... Read more

We were thrilled with the view from our room but everything else was pretty average. I was looking forward to comfortable beds but was very disappointed. The room was very clean but the bathroom was showing some age. The coffee available all the time was nice and was serviced frequently. Housekeeping was very friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful vacation but, sadly, the hotel didn't contribute much to the experience other than the view.

Close proximity to restaurants and entertainment. Golf courses a short drive away. This end of Atlantic Avenue not as congested as the north end. The free breakfast was not very good some things were burnt, however, I have found that this chain has great crumbly scones.

Clean rooms, great view, no problems with the internet. The attached but unaffiliated restaurant was a decent place for a beer and steak. You can walk out the back door and onto the beach. I was unimpressed by the informal breakfast, but it was completely clean fresh and edible. I would have preferred the option to order something.

My wife and I spent Thanksgiving afternoon and the next day (two nights) at the Hampton Inn, as we are seeking a go-to venue on the beach to visit periodically throughout the year. Check-in and the second day were fine. The ocean view is excellent. There were a couple issues with the room, and maintenance handled those promptly. The best thing was ocean front room. We had a coffe in our balcony and enjoyed senical view of sea. Little outdated room and very small spaces of lobby and breakfast area and also really tiny sized indoor pool. I cant sitting in the pool due to high usage of chemical? I was hurt in my eyes when i was staying for kids. My favorite thing for using hamton is replacing sheet everyday but this hotel was not followed this direction. I dont know where is their policy. Overall, not too bad.
