With graduation from Virginia Tech being made late we got a hotel in Roanoke. We made our reservations at this Hampton Inn because it was close to the I-81 and agreed to the terms and prices. We were booked for four nights and enjoyed our stay until the second morning when down to breakfast and sat with another couple and during our talk the cost of rooms arose. I said we had our room booked for several weeks and had to pay dearly to get a room. I was told that they had gotten their room a fe... Read more

Although states that the hotel was recently renovated, there is no evidence that that has been done. Our room was just average at best. Nothing to brag about. The rate charged was much higher than a competing hotel next door which we had stayed at in the past. We decided to check this one out and were disappointed.

I had never been to a Hampton Inn before but my husband had many times during his business travels, so we stopped here. Have to say I was a little disappointed. The room was okay, though had seen better days (in need of some updating). The worst part was breakfast - scrambled eggs were so bad that we couldn't eat them. So needless to say, will probably stick with other hotel chains (or preferably B&B's) in the future.

We asked about a place to eat. The desk had a printed list with detailed information. Everything exceeded our expectations. Thank you Hampton Inn.

No surprises here. We've been staying at Hampton/Hilton Brand hotels for over 15 years now and perhaps longer. This particular Hampton was very convenient to the interstate and not far from Restaurants and other places (drug store, Gas, Groceries) that may have been required. The staff was courteous and efficient and the breakfast buffet was very good as usual.

Stayed here one night while on the road. I thought the room was nice and met with what I expect from Hampton Inns. The room noise was not the best we've experienced but quieter than most. Not much ambient noise from the hall nor neighbors. The bed was pretty comfortable. The pillows are never as good as we have at home which why we take ours on the road. The bathroom did not have a vent fan so if you shower with the door closed, you will be in a near steam bath. The free breakfast was fair for t... Read more

Came for the weekend from D.C. to enjoy turning leaves and mountains. Ended up in that hotel as it was right on the route 81 and reviews weren't so bad. The main issue with the hotel is poor management. Our air conditioner was so noisy I wasn't able neither to sleep nor to switch it off. I came to the front desk on the Saturday morning wondering if they can fix it. The lady at the front desk wasn't treating me with respect nor she was at least apologetic about my problem. Instead she said she ... Read more

One expects a better quality hotel when paying $100+ per night. Especially when Hilton Hotels are associated with Hampton Inn now. Not 'gold standard' but at least 'better'. Our room needed many small repairs, mediocre maintenance of some of them at best (exposed anchor screws by shower curtain rod, shower hot/cold handle fell right off, rust on side of tub, paint chipping, base boards missing). Bathroom door doesn't stay open and entrance door drags on floor. TV remote damaged, barely working.

We had a king room on the top of three floors. The check-in process was done the night before on-line and when I arrived they had my keys ready, pre-payment made this process super easy. The room was welcoming even though it is a pretty standard room. The bed was clean and comfortable. The room, on the rear of the building, was quiet. There is coffe available 24-7 in the lobby. Breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold options, all self serve. The main entree changed daily. Check-out was ju... Read more

If we travel this route again, we will book at this particular property. We met with dear friends and had supper at a nearby 'mom and pop' local restaurant: Hollywood. Good food. Easy on/off of I-81 too.

We stopped on our way to Asheville, NC. We arrived early evening and grabbed a bite to eat and relaxed a bit before retiring. The room was clean and comfortable and we had a restful sleep. We left early so we had breakfast on the road.

The hotel was clean and very nice. The rooms was as expected with very comfortable beds. The complementary breakfast was good with a good selection of things to eat. I used the online checkin and was able to select my room. It was easy to use and when I got to the hotel, the key was at the front desk waiting on me.

We like this hotel. My only comment is to request a room at the back of the hotel. The rooms at the front of the hotel are right on the street and I had a hard time falling asleep due to the cars passing by. Otherwise, this hotel is a good pick :0)

The hotel is close to I-81, but far enough from the interstate to be quiet. There is an excellent restaurant nearby (Hollywood's). The hotel was clean, and the management was friendly. We make this trip to see family twice a year, and we will definitely stay there again.

We usually try to stop at a Drury or a Hampton - they are both consistently of good quality for the money. Our one night stay was $119.49 with TX. The Hampton Inn in Roanoke, VA is an easy-off easy-on to interstate 81. Our room # 328 was amazingly very quiet.

Just passing through, but this Hampton offered a nice room and excellent breakfast. We were impressed with the variety of fruits offered, from blueberries to fresh pineapple. The taxes/ fees really tacked on a lot to the bill though--our "$112" rate came to well over $150.

This hotel lives up to the standard I expect to find in a HAMPTON INN. I highly recommend this chain and particularly this hotel. The hotel was conveniently located right off the highway, There was plenty of parking. All amenities located in the area.
