I would stay away unless this is the last place with an available room. Blonde receptionist in her early 50s was extremely rude for no reason. Receptionist was snappy and very reluctant to help us in any way. I wouldn't recommend staying here to any family/friends.

FILTHY doesn't even begin to describe. Walls thin as paper. You will be better off sleeping in your car. Not even a lousy coffee pot or alarm clock. No light bulbs in lamps, sticky TV remote, cigarette butts on the floor, blood on the carpet, stained, ripped chairs. They should be ashamed of themselves. Wish I could give a zero rating.

Our room was dirty. The furniture is all stained, there were holes in the walls, and bugs in the room - dead and alive. I was afraid to walk in the room without shoes on. The worst was the smell - Our non-smoking room reeked of stale cigarette smoke. We did find the staff to be nice and they refunded our second night when we said we couldn't stay.

I originally made my reservation online but subsequently needed to change the dates. I called the 1-800 number and the agent was very accommodating. My AARP discount was honored and I was sent an updated confirmation via email. The location is easily located just off I-81.Upon arrival the room I was assigned was clean (no stains on carpet, bedding, or chairs and no smell of smoke), I felt very safe, and the accommodations were quiet and comfortable. The complimentary internet worked flawless... Read more

Clean rooms. Refrig and micro in room. Refurbished rooms are great. AARP discount. Conveniently located. Pool was empty being cleaned. Wi fi worked fine. Motel six has really improved. Happy we stayed here. Towels are very thin so you might need your own b

If you are looking for a good inexpensive hotel in Roanoke this is the place to go. The rooms are very large and it has a stand up shower and bathtub. Also the front desk clerk was very helpful with information about the area. You should try to this hotel you will be very pleased.

Obviously I'm under no illusion what you get with motel6 and I have stayed at many of them before. But this didn't cut the mustard. The room was fine apart from not being as clean as you would expect. There is a Mexican a few minutes walking distance so that was helpful. There isn't much to say about this hotel as we were only there 1 night passing through. I would rather spend slightly more and stay in a different hotel.

Not much more to ask for, the price gives you what you would expect but done very well. Just a few minutes from downtown with great places to eat all around. Found a few odd stains on the curtains ut towels and bedding seemed to suffice what was needed for a one night stay.

When making the reservations I requested 2 double beds because we had 2 adults and 2 teens. When we went to the room we were given there were 2 problems....it was a king bed room and the guys in the room next door had moved their table and chairs to the sidewalk outside their room and were drinking and smoking pot. We went back to request a new room and asked for a room away from the pot smoking guys. The guy gave us a room on the 2nd floor right above the pot smoking guys....so another trip to ... Read more

This motel was cheap enough and staff were friendly. The room was clean but we did not have any towels in the room! I only realised this only as I got into the shower. The room smelt of smoke and I woke up smelling of smoke, this is not a problem if you smoke but we choose non smoking rooms. I think I would choose another motel even if it meant paying a bit more.

Room was disgusting. Big red stains all over the carpet. Bathroom in disrepair. I would rather pay more money and stay elsewhere. The only positive was that the front desk employee was very friendly. Location was easy to get to after a long night of travel. No free breakfast as advertised. Wifi never worked. Never felt safe outside of the room. People sitting in stairwells smoking and drinking.

Unfortunately for this establishment, first impressions got them off to a bad start. The employee at the front desk looked like he just rolled out of bed, completely disheveled... even had his fly open. Room itself was decent and clean, although the light above the bathroom sink wasn't working. I notified front desk and said they'd call maintenance, but it could be a while. Well, he never came. Only other minor issue I had with the room was that they did not provide tissues. Worst part of our st... Read more

First off, the gal working the front desk was great. She was helpful and friendly, and took care of us when we needed her too. She was the only positive thing about our experience. For the first time EVER I had to change rooms. I travel a lot, NEVER before have I requested to change rooms. I am a fairly laid back traveler and stay at budget hotels as all I do is sleep and shower in the room then move on to the next place. We got into the first room and everything was wet. It was extremely hum... Read more

We stayed at this hotel on our way back from Florida. No internet, scary bathroom, mostly clean but didn't like the area. Luckily there was a Waffle House for breakfast. Did the job but that was about it. Strange smell in the hallways.

The wifi sucks here. It goes in and out, and some times doesn't even work. Rooms were being remodeled. Close to Waffle House, and a Mexican restaurant. The view from the hotel is nice. At night you can go outside and see the Roanoke star. Roanoke star is a cool place to visit.

This was an okay stay. I did not have any serious problems; however, the room smelled like cigarettes (not strong, but undeniable nonetheless), and although it looked clean enough, I felt like I needed to be extra cautious about hygiene, and I felt like I needed to sleep on my back so that my face didn't touch the pillow. The front-desk associate that I met when arriving at the motel was helpful, but not friendly. She didn't make me feel very welcome. But like I said, she got the job done and I ... Read more

Upon entry we noticed a cigarette burn in the bedspread of our Non-smoking room. Toilet stopped up twice with just pee in it. The first time we were told we had to go to front desk to get the toilet plunger and plunge it ourselves; however, day 2 Maintenance took care of it. Many security cameras in place. The female front desk staff were friendly and they did offer military discount, but doubt I stay at Motel 6 again, not really impressed.

Passing through Roanoke, we were tired & stopped because they are pet friendly. The pet room was on the 2nd floor, steps & walkways need power washed bad. The room had laminate wood floor that was sticky & dirty, like it wasn't mopped & walkway crud was tracked in. Older hotel that wouldn't be bad if it had a good all over cleaning. Staff was friendly & morning dest clerk apologized when I told her about the floor. Bedspread had stains, but sheets & blanket clean . Nice sunrise view

Only bad thing I can say would be it's a bit outdated. Clean, convenient, and what a view! Parking is good. Handicap rooms have ample space. I would highly recommend. Great value. Staff was phenomenal.

Roanoke was a midway stopping point for us traveling from New Jersey back to Arkansas. I booked this hotel online and I was not disappointed. I was half-expecting it to be bad because it was one of the less expensive options I saw. In fact, I was mildly surprised and impressed. Don't get me wrong, it is still a motel by any standards, with rooms facing the outside and access to the same are through outside stairs. However, the rooms are comfy and the bathrooms are clean. The towels are qui... Read more

Had a bad headache and was awake at 4 am. Called front desk and asked for a late check out and the man at the desk flat out refused it. I've never had that happen at any hotel before, though I've only asked a few times. Sometimes the traveler needs a hotel to go the extra mile, and this one doesn't. I won't return.
