We stayed here on a trip home from Tennessee (it was half way between there and home). We were on a tight budget and I'm always worried if you get a cheap room it will be totally dirty and gross inside (ya get what ya pay for, right?). I checked reviews on here and found this place. Super affordable, most reviews were favorable and said it was clean. It is an old place, and (especially considering its age) is clean. Very clean bathroom, nice soft sheets, fluffy pillows. Our only complaint was t... Read more

We were traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway and wanted a place to crash overnight, so we picked the Colony House Motor Lodge. Talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly. First the good. The people at the front desk, both checking in and checking out, were wonderful. The woman who checked us in recommended Montano’s as a nearby restaurant. Both individuals are credits to their profession! Also, the location was great! It was on a busy road, but getting in and out of the place seemed not to be a p... Read more

This hotel was quiet, clean, and the rooms are super big. The hotel staff was awesome and if I come back to Roanoke, I will be staying here. You cannot get a better hotel, especially on a budget. Franklin road has a great deal of places to eat and shop as well. Central location is key.

Tony at the front desk was very nice, and helpful. This place was just as I remember it. Well kept, and very clean. I haven't been this way in 22 years, and stayed here long ago. It's just as I remembered it. Clean and well kept. I had a woman by the name of Dottie M. take care of us long ago and from what I've herd she still checks in. She was very nice to my small children, and after all these years I still remember her. I like this place. It's older, but very nice. I'd come back over and over... Read more

Stayed here again and a bit disappointed with visit. They gave us a room which required minor maintenance in bathroom area so changed to another room. While fresh paint in portions of the room, not all repainted. Bed was very very firm and pillows very, very small. Wi-fi did not allow websites to complete loading and TV not HD. Room was clean and water hot. Enjoyed coffee maker and two separate sinks. Overall, for a little more money, could be more comfortable. Missed the fresh baked c... Read more

After traveling back and forth to Roanoke several times over the past few weeks due to a family member's illness and eventual passing, and staying in a couple of different hotels, I was extremely pleased with the Colony House Motor Lodge. While it is an older establishment, it was quiet, clean and affordable. The front desk staff were welcoming, courteous and helpful. The room was spacious and the room and bathroom were clean. The bed was comfortable and I like that there was a refrigerator an... Read more
