Room was as good as was about a month or two ago. Breakfast has improved- they now have waffles! Very nice restaurants within walking distance- we walked to Cracker Barrel and had dinner. Front desk is very nice and efficient. Definitely will be back when traveling this way.

The staff was very friendly and check in was a snap. The room was spacious and came equipped with a mini fridge which was very helpful. Their was also a nice widescreen TV with lots of channels to choose from. The in room WIFI was fast and free. The second floor room we had had a balcony with a nice view of the rolling hillside. The free continental breakfast was great with waffles, breakfast sandwiches, fruit, cereal, pastries, etc. I highly recommend this property for overnight stays and... Read more

This is one of the stops we make on our trips back and forth from Ohio to Florida. Over the past 15 years it has changed hands a few times. It was originally a Travelodge and has come full circle. The present owners have completely remodeled the rooms, the breakfast has many new items. It is refreshing that the new owners are so enthusiastic about their acquisition, they aim to please their clientele. The big draw is the view. Situated on a mountain it offers a breathe taking view. This was one of the cleanest and best maintained facilities I stayed at on my trip from Texas to Washington DC. The staff treated us like we were family even going so far as to offer to serve breakfast early so we wouldn't have to delay our departure the following morning. Wonderful people and I am so glad we chose their establishment to spend the night in route to DC.

The room was reasonably clean as was the bathroom. The room smelled odd almost like syrup. Maybe it was the cleaner they used. Some of the buildings looked like they needed some work. Peeling doors and paint. The building we stayed in was in good shape and obviously kept up. I was a little nonplussed when the clerk in the morning mistook me for a man. First time in my life that ever happened! I suspect cataracts. No plates for breakfast so we just skipped breakfast. Nothing horrible, nothing fab... Read more

Top service at the check-in. Excellent manager. Free upgrade. Clean and quiet room. Price included continental breakfast like hot waffles, breakfast sandwich, cereal & milk, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, and more. Will definitely stay there again.

It is a little dated but linens were clean, good fridge and microwave, and clean tub. Clerk was very polite, breakfast was above average (nothing hot except possibly waffles) which did include fresh fruit. The best part is that it is within walking distance of Cracker Barrel. After driving all day, comfort food and safe rural hotel meets my needs! Also with my "go fast" reward through Wyndham, the price was very reasonable.

This was not the best place we have stayed at! It was not very clean there was hair in the bathroom sink and tub! There were cob webs with spiders in the corners of the room I don't think we will ever chance a Travel lodge again!

we drove on the way from dulles airport to asville, nc and decided to stop at this location. the balcony door has been stuck, however the front desk person offered another room, we prefared to stay in this room just because of the view (including beautiful sun rise).

We had plan to stay for a couple of days to drive the Claw of the Dragon. We had found this hotel on Trip Advisor, glad we did. Staff is wonderfull, hotel in renovation but our room was clean, oderless and quiet. We had it for about 76$ a night. We stayed 3 nights and I would go back for sure. Right at the exit off highway but you don't hear it and on the edge of town. Everything you need is close. Continental breakfast is offer and it is spacious and clean.

This hotel was clean and quiet. The breakfast was decent and the staff was friendly and accomodating. My husband called to make a reservation and got the central reservation desk, not the front desk on site. He was told that the price they were quoting couldn't be discounted by AAA etc. So he waited until we got to Travelodge. I checked Expedia and they also quoted what the central reservation desk quoted. When we got there we were given a better price than Expedia or the customer service rep.

The beds were pretty comfortable and the breakfast was good (waffles, bagels, cereal, yogurt, coffee, muffins). The walls are pretty thin and the buttons on the television didn't work and the remote wasn't great. Hard to find outlets too.

First I would like to say the only reason I gave this review a 4 and not a 5 is due to the fact that this is an economy class hotel and I couldn't say that it compared with a 5 star type hotel but if I was comparing apples to apples I'd give this 5 stars for an economy type hotel. I got stranded in Wytheville, VA when my car broke down and I needed to stay for a week while it got repaired. I stayed at the Travelodge and I cant say enough of the treatment I received. Stayed here on the way to and from North Carolina outer banks and this is a great place for an overnight stay. You can't beat the price and the mountain views. Buildings not much to look at on the outside but the remodeled rooms are nice, and spacious. Front desk folks are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is good. Bathroom could have been cleaner. Will stay here again.

Good overnight stop. Beautiful view from sliding glass door in room. Room was comfortable and price was reasonable. Continental breakfast but Cracker Barrell is right in front of hotel. Busy place on weekends as we got the last room around 10pm on a Sat night.

The room was nice and clean. But on the billing department I'm not happy I was charged when I checked in (pending) when I checked out I was charged again (pending ) and when I checked my account I was charged twice for a one night stay

The gentlemen at the check out desk was exceptional - professional, efficient, yet very friendly. He was great on the phone as well. I'm sorry I didn't catch his name. My only concern was that they seemed to need a little more assistance during breakfast rush hour. The lady working seemed to be on her own.

Room smelled of years of old smoke. Carpet was sticky, we could not walk around w/o shoes. The handle to our door (room 207) was broken and took a good 2-3 minutes to open; had to call front desk to help us into the room! The exterior doors on first floor were left open with a hook in the brick wall - all night - security issue??!! If our door wasn't so impossible to open I would have complained about that, too. One good thing about the room was the shower water pressure- was excellent.

This not a family friendly sleep over. There are torn up old buildings that lot like scary town. The plac seems to take advantage of an older group to manage and clean the place. The morning to discuss the nights stay manager was not present.
