Hotel seems a bit dated. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My room smelled musty ad did my colleagues room and we were 5 floors apart. When I arrived, the trash cans in my room had not been emptied, so there was someone's leftover subway sandwich in the trash. Also, there was a very noticeable stain on the bedspread. I get it, stains are stains and they don't always wash out, but it still gives me the creeps in a hotel. For the price I was really hoping for something nicer.

I just helped organize a conference in Richmond and was very pleased with the Omni Richmond as our venue; in addition to very comfortable, clean, and recently (within 5 yr) renovated guest rooms, this hotel has excellent meeting rooms, very good A/V and wireless internet, catering, etc. The location (Shockoe Slip) is also great for walking around, restaurants, etc. Finally--hotel patrons can use the nearby YMCA for fitness and exercise-and this facility far exceeds the best in-hotel gyms I hav... The Omni is a great hotel for a meeting. The room was a nice size with a comfy bed and good amenities. The location was convenient for walking and the free shuttle was a fantastic option for the restaurants a bit too far to walk. I highly recommend. The hotel staff is fairly helpful, but a little lost. Their is no fitness center, but you can go next door to the YMCA, which is actually pretty good. The restaurant is rather weak and not that nice. There is only a starbucks to get a cup of coffee and the line is usually very long at your normal working hours. The rooms are nice enough and the beds were comfy. The bathroom is slightly dated, but that is no big deal. If you are hungry for a snack, there really isn't any option for that..th... Read more

I stayed at the hotel because they have a special deal with VCU. I arrived late at night, and the staff were polite. The valet parking was efficient. The room was clean and comfortable. There was an in-room refrigerator, which was helpful. On the negative side, they forget to send a wakeup call; the shower head had only one setting; and I could hear the elevators periodically at night.

I have never been to Richmond before and chose the Omni based on location. It was great! The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The hotel is a short walk from the train station which was helpful. The room was clean and nicely furnished as well as quiet. Omni Richmond was not ready for a Saturday filled with weddings. If I had known I couldn't get into my room until after 8 pm when check-in time was 3 pm, I would have made prior arrangements to come prepared for wedding or canceled my reservation. Also, beware of insects lurking in lobby restrooms.

There is no hesitation n recommending this hotel for a stay in Richmond. It is very clean and comfortable with large, well-appointed rooms. The meeting facilities are excellent, including coffee and beverage service and the catered meals for meeting participants; both breakfast and lunch in my case. Wonderful, clean and quiet room with plenty of water and complimentary snacks! Hotel staff vary accommodating to the crowds of people waiting to leave for their races. I needed a last minute birthday card and they found one at the front desk for me!

Stayed here earlier in the week for a 2 night business stay, no complaints from me! Water pressure was the best I've ever seen at a hotel, all staff was friendly. I didn't see any of the stains or worn out features other reviewers have posted. Everything was in great shape!

I have never felt so cared-for in any hotel before! The staff that I encountered were absolutely wonderful! Banquet meals were truly spectacular - never a wilted green in the salad, portions were huge and everything was delicious, right down to the Southern Sweet Tea! The room was larger than expected, the bed comfortable, lots of pillows, and the bathroom was to die for! You can't miss with the Omni!

My husband and I stay for a quick getaway. Check in was quick. Beautiful room and excellent service. We went to the Tabacco Room for supper which was right across the street. Loved how decorated for Christmas. It was wonderful !

This is a very lovely hotel, with excellent service and amenities. I was here for a conference and would be pleased if my group scheduled their conference again here next year. I loved that it was across the street from The Tobacco Company restaurant too! I didn't want to pay for the hotel valet, so I parked in the garage across the street which worked well too.

Nicely situated in downtown, close to canal walk. Booked room using 3rd party vendor, upon arrival staff couldn't find reservation (it was somehow changed to the following night) but fortunately room was available. Entered room only to find room was already occupied (their luggage was already on the bed, oops). Headed back downstairs and given another room. Room was larger than usual (inc bathroom + large soap!) and smelled clean. Bathroom floor had hairs from previous guest, sink had 2 chunks o... Read more

My family selected the Omni as part of our son's wedding, and as the primary host for the wedding party and guests. They staff were very helpful and warm, the hotel was nicely situated in downtown Richmond near to many restaurant, and the sales office was able to work out a reasonable group rate for our guests. In summary I would strongly recommend the Omni for any type of stay be it business or pleasure.

Nice place to stay. Great location, right near the state Capitol, Rooms are modern and comfortable, good service. Did not eat there, so can't comment about the food. Many restaurants within a few blocks. Nothing spectacular or memorable, but I found it very good in every way. Would definitely return.
