Nice hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast, only complaint, if you don't use your membership number for internet you get billed premium rate even if you opt for complimentary, this has happened to me twice at two different Hampton Inns.

The front desk employees were very helpful and friendly. The staff I met through the hallways and the employees attending to the complementary hot breakfast area was also very very friendly. The room was comfortable and well cleaned. The bed was comfortable and made for an easy night's sleep. The only draw-back, if you will, was the interstate road noise by the tractor trailers. I put a 8 hr video on you tube of waves crashing on the beach to drown out the road noise. It wasn't overly noisy, but... Read more

This was a group event so we were required to stay here. Although the hotel seemed cleaned and the housekeeping staff was friendly, that was about the only good part of this stay. Poor service, lack of concern/attention to problems, very sketchy part of town. Bar across the street uses the hotel's lot which no one monitors.

So leave the fan running so you can sleep from traffic noise and don't take off your sock or look behind the mattress and you will be fine! The staff are so nice but the housekeeping is poor. My little shower shelf was barely hanging on, and the corners of the bathroom was gross. Also the track on the shower was really, really dirty.

Excellent stay. The hotel was very clean. The staff were friendly. Excellent breakfast. I have been making this trip to Richmond, Va for the last 7 years and this has been my hotel of choice. I have always stated at this location.

The stay here started off wrong with the check in counter telling me 4x in 2minutes that checkin doesn't start till 3pm and I was early so my room wasn't ready. Even though I'm a gold member the girl still felt she had to tell me 4x, of course I opted for an alternate room, no big deal as u was happy and pleased to be checked in early. The outlets and plugs didn't work in the room, I made a quick fix by resetting the GFCI in the bathroom. I used the gym later in the day only to find the water di... Read more

At checkin got the feeling we were bothering the staff and they were doing us a favor. Not helpful at all about where to go to get something eat. It felt like we were not at a Hampton Inn. The night before our stay at another Hampton Inn was just what we have come to expect from Hampton.

Older hotel with no view and only two luggage carts although 5 stories. Bath Tub in our room would not drain and air conditioner leaked water all over the floor. Front Desk sent us to a terrible restaurant in the area with poor food and service. We could not wait to get out of Richmond and my wife threatens divorce if I ever suggest staying there again.

I was weary from traveling and found this hotel to be quite comfortable, relaxing and clean. The check in staff were professional and helpful. The room was clean, well supplied and met my needs for a quiet restful sleep. The breakfast area was well supplied and provided a generous seating area. I would stay here again.

We were in town for an important swim meet. The area was crowded due to many events being planned for that weekend. We were fortunate to get the room we did before all prices for rooms went out of sight! We had stayed at Hampton Inns before and knew what to expect. We were pleased to see the hotel was all that we expected and more. The room was very comfortable and clean and we were not disturbed by staff when we were in the room. Nice, clean hotel in an easy location, about 5 miles south of downtown Richmond. Location is a bit remote and industrial, but there's a nice little restaurant/pub in a hotel across the street, a subwy and a McDonald's right there. Otherwise, plan to drive or UBER anywhere else.

We drove all night from Chicago to get to the hotel and arrived early, tired and weary. Showed up to the hotel around noon, hoping to get an early check-in. Chantelle (sp?), at the front desk, went above and beyond and honored our request, which basically made our whole trip. Chantelle is an honorary and exemplary employee, who puts the customers interest first. Now the bad part...The rooms and hotel itself are outdated and worn. The room was clean and the beds were comfy. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. The staff was good. It was nice to have complimentary breakfast available, but the quality was not up to the standards of other Hampton Inns at which I've stayed. The pool was the low point of our visit. The water was 82+ degrees and the chlorine was very strong. If you are looking for a stopover close to I-95 without too much fanfare than the Hampton Inn should work out fine. It is very close to I-95. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The continental breakfast was pretty good also - good coffee, fresh waffles, eggs, bacon, potatoes, bagels, fruit, etc. The one negative was the lack of places to eat in the area. The McDonald's is attached to a gas station and was understaffed and rather unclean. Otherwise, nothing to complain about duri... Read more

I stayed at the Hampton Inn for a weekend during drill for the Reserves. The beds are comfortable and the room was clean. The receptionists are very professional, helpful, and polite. I belive they have a swimming which I didn't use but it's great for children. The complimentary breakfast is also a plus starting very earlier around 05:30 or 06:00. Great for military members who have to be at work early.

The hotel was clean and reasonably priced for a hotel with a pool. The staff was friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was good and standard for this type of hotel. It is right next to the interstate, which you could hear in our room (on the back side of the hotel), but running the a/c fan all night easily drowned out that sound. But it was convenient to all the areas we wanted to visit in downtown and the southside of Richmond. Overall a pleasant stay and would stay there again.

Spent one night here as a midpoint stopover. Arrived late so can't say much about the hotel amenities, but check-in staff was friendly and fast; the rooms were nicely decorated and clean; the beds were comfortable and the breakfast, while standard fare, was well done. In fact, I complimented the kitchen staff on the oatmeal. Though many (hotels) try, not everyone can make good oatmeal!

The hotel is conveniently located off the I-95 highway. The room was clean with very comfortable beds. The personnel at the front desk and the breakfast hall are very nice and helpful. It is not however located near any good restaurants. I would suggest you eat your dinner before your arrival. The restaurant located across the street in the holiday Inn is poor and next door is a Subway sandwich shop.

I stay at Hamptons probably 6 times per year average. They are always consistent. Check-in, check-out was fine, breakfast was good. Only "Issue" was that I could hear the television on in the adjacent room after 12:30 AM. This was an issue because I checked in at 11:30 PM and was checking out at 8 AM as I was just passing through. IMHO, the walls were too thin or not enough insulation for noise mitigation.

It appears that this Hampton Inn is an older revamped hotel. The bathrooms had enough caulk to take care of three bathrooms. The floors are stained and the general atmosphere was old. Also, this is not a good part of town and we were unable to walk anywhere or find a restaurant nearby.

The Hampton Name for me has come to represent quality and most importantly CONSISTENCY! I don't even consider other chains because you can never be sure what you will get. This site was no different, everything was as expected or better. Not sure why but in the government travel system it says it does not meet security recommendations, I felt as secure as I have in any hotel I have stayed.

The hotel is sandwiched between a major highway and an industrial access road. Semi-trucks air brake all night was very loud. Windows are single pane so let's all the noise in. I had to switch rooms twice. The staff was extremely helpful but I eventually had to check out.

We select Hampton Inns on purpose for their consistent comfort, cleanliness and breakfasts. This Hampton was no exception. My only complaint is that we'd done the on-line check-in in advance and selected our preferred room on the top floor. When I arrived at 2:45pm, the room was not yet cleaned as the previous guest has just checked-out at 2:30pm.
