I decide to stay here over the weekend for a event I attend too and could be the price on my choice hotel ( you get what you pay for, smh). The bathroom had mold on the wall over top of the shower. Everything was out dated and very old and to top it off me and my daughter got bed begs bites.. I called to make them aware of it and they say we sorry and will check the room. Please DON'T stay here.

Let's just say I wouldn't recommend Satan himself to stay at this hotel. Upon arrival into the room there was an awful smell, I thought it could be remedied by opening the balcony door. (Fyi that didn't help the smell.) Not to mention stepping on the carpet, there was clearly sand so apparently they don't vacuum either for a new customer. The bathroom was disgusting I mean a whole container of bleach is going to be needed in order to get that thing clean. I went to the front desk and asked them ... Read more

This place is a dive with a capital D. The D could also mean disgusting, dirty, dilapidated, dangerous...take your pick. Don't stay here. I repeat DON'T stay here. I would rather sleep in my car. I was actually relieved to find our vehicle still in one piece when we left. We got up and left at 5 AM because we just couldn't take it anymore. I even refused to shower. Everything needs updated and cleaned. The only positive thing I can say is that the desk clerk was friendly and they allowed us to c... Read more

I read the reviews and was very skeptical. Stayed at this hotel for a week during spring break. Staff was friendly and accommodating when we arrived. Our rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel itself is older and could use upgrades, but overall it was not bad. Very close to the beach and walking distance to the fun park and VA legends walk. It was inexpensive and met our needs! I recommend.

To start, the place is a fire hazard, no security , rooms only have a single lock you cannot secure yourself on the inside, I had to put a chair to secure the door, area is very dangerous at night, street urchants and drunks are prowling around all night looking for a target, your car is not safe. Rooms smell like mildew, they are so antiquated still designed from the 80's, futon was disgustingly dirty, the 2 material chairs in the room were filthy, the bathroom vent fan bearings were rumbling w... I got there alil early. Was told the earliest they could check me in w/my reservation was 2pm. Even thou I've been waiting since 8:30am, others came in after me got their rooms & I've been driving from PA since 1am. Never got a call at 2pm & a hotel clerk peeped around the corner, behind the desk & never serviced me. Bad parking, cracking ceiling in a tuna can parking garage. Wasted my hard earned money!!!

It was really nice and love love loved my jetted tub! Had a nice view of the ocean but did need some updates on like the paint and things. But overall is was a great stay. I plan on going back again soon and would recommend this hotel to many people!

If you rely heavily on wi fi, do not stay here. Theirs doesn't work if there are more than a few guests in the hotel. Elevator at fifth floor will come only if you push up, not down. TV remote was missing, had to go to desk to get replacement. Then had to dig out cable box from behind TV. Ice machine is right outside our door, so it clatters and bangs constantly. Room is fine in and of itself, staff is nice, location is great, but the inability to provide what is now a basic functionality in t... Read more

This hotel is very dated and could use some significant updates. It worked for what we needed. A place to sleep at night but not for much else. The bed and pillows were too soft and the cleanliness was so so. I'll probably spend the extra money to go to another hotel near the beach.

This is the third time we have stayed at this Rodeway Inn. It's close to the beach and is the least expensive hotel within the Choice Hotels brand we can find during the season. The room was clean, though the curtains could use some re-hemming. The a/c worked extremely well in our room so was very refreshing after a day in the sun and humidity. The pool was clean. Not sure when the water quality was last tested--the date said 2015, but I imagine that was just an error. Wi-Fi was terrible--spotty... Read more

visited from a monday- friday in July. had a room right outside of the pool which actually was nice so we could tell when it was crowded so there were a few times that we were the only ones in the pool. parking is terrible. very tight on second level ( was never able to find a spot on first level) . short walk to the beach which was nice. elevator and stair well had a weird smell. room was very outdated. beds and pillows weren't very comfy. liked the size of the room and easily could fit four (... This hotel is dated but clean. The shower had hot water and great water pressure. The staff was very friendly. The room did not have a coffee maker or kitchen supplies but that was adverised so we brought our own. Would definitely stay again.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed at. A/C did not work. 92 in room at 5pm. Wifi did not work, had to use phone data as hotspot. Room was not cleaned, found food under bed. Management did not care that I payed $209 a night and had no A/C. Yes $209 a night and no ac! If I moved my car at night I had to park 6 blocks away, as parking filled up. Parking lot so small, watched 2 cars back into support columns. Would not recommend staying here for any purpose! They wouldn't refund, or allow early che... Read more

We had an awesome stay with the family. Having a kitchenette in the room was very convenient. This is a great place for familes on a budget. It was great to be so close to the water. We will definitely be back!

Just returned from a quick two day stay here during the week in August and wanted to share a few observations we had during our stay. I read the reviews and I was expecting this place to be terrible....and while I will say I wasn't wowed by my wasn't the terrible experience other people reported having. So..on to the details... The good: -Sheets were clean and beds were comfortable enough, We generally take quilt or sleeping bags to use instead of the in room bedspreads as they are... Read more

Room was a little run down. I liked the jacuzzi tub in our room. Also the balcony was nice. If you get a room facing 10th Street, you can see the ocean!! But I would like to WARN everyone, unless you can park in front of the hotel, you CAN NOT fit a large vehicle in the parking garage. Very tight fit. At one point we drove to a dead end, no empty spots and no way to turn around, we had to back around some poles and it was awful!!

I stayed at the Rodeway Inn by the Beach in Virginia Beach in room 305 from 09/16/16-09/18/16 and it was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The conditions were unlivable. The door wouldn't deadbolt unless we pushed our whole body against it. The air conditioner leaked a huge puddle onto the floor. There was a foul smell in the bedroom. Half the buttons on the microwave didn't work! However, those were the least of our concerns. There was black mold on the hallway ceiling that som... Read more

This hotel needs some major updates. Only plus was a seperate bedroom from living area. Upon entering the room we were blasted with cold air. At least the air conditioner worked. Had to sleep in 50* temperature with sweat suit on. Glad it was only a one night stay. Front desk staff was friendly but it doesn't make up for the poor condition of the rooms.
